Back in the routine yet? Maybe another familiar regular is what you need to reacquaint yourself with the route to the weekend Fantasy deadline.

We’ve duly published our first Captain poll of the season, canvassing your views on the destination of the Fantasy armband ahead of the season kick-off.

Straight way, we’ve got an interesting one.

Doubts surrounding the fitness of Robin Van Persie and Luis Suarez level the playing field a little, while Nani and Wayne Rooney will catch the eye, though both may look a risk against a West Brom side who will surely be well-drilled by the crafty Roy Hodgson. Perhaps a gamble on Fernando Torres at Stoke is in order? But then Didier Drogba could easily start at the Britannia, such is the uncertainty surrounding the Andre Villas-Boas teamsheet.

Votes are already streaming in. You can cast yours now via the homepage middle column and use this article to discuss the options.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

They could possibly line up in a 442 diamond ala:

      Drogba Torres
      Benayoun
      Lampard Malouda
      Mikel
      Cole Terry Alex Bosingwa
      Cech

      But I haven't seen them play pre-season.

320k have Kompany, 314k have Hart. If you only have one, and a rival has two aren't we 'all' going to be hoping Citeh concede?!

Tempted to get in Kompany and Lescott. Or just Lescott and hope he scores 4 or 5.

I have Kompany and Lescott so hoping they don't concede many, but still enough to not win the league.

38 0-0 draws would be good.

Interesting thought...... But Mancini has promised more attacking football this season, pushing forward, taking risks at the back. They will still be solid, but based on that they may get less CS than last year.

Well boys, i’m soooo P*ssed off tonight. My rivals aren’t starting up another money mini-league this year. The whole reason I play this game is because of financial incentive. So, i decided to look for league codes with prizes and I found 1 or 2 but when I went to put the league code in, it said, it was fu*king invalid. This added further to my frustration. So, if anyone knows of any leagues with prizes and could give me the code it would be much appreciated. Also, if anyone is having the same problem with league codes could you stand up? Because it getting on my t*ts.
    Thank you.

What are everyone's thoughts on having Baines, playing 4 at the back every week and seeing Baines as a midfielder (so fielding 3-5-2/3-4-3 effectively)?

Am toying with this idea, having Baines + rotating £5m mid (rotating with Moses and a cheap striker), instead of Cahill + £4m def.

Are people with Baines trying to play 2-6-2/2-5-3 or doing the above?

Thing is Hernanred, in general defenders are likely to score less this year. You can't play less than 3 each week, and you are paying for Baines so that one of those 3 is more likely to give you points.

I don't see why you would want to play another 3 defenders as well as him, and reduce your midfield by one.

        Unless I'm missing something?

You reduce your midfield by one, then view Baines as a midfielder, so you effectively play 3-5-2 or 3-4-3. I think the 4pts he earns for every clean sheet will be add up to more than he will lose for conceding 2 or 4 goals, so you are just looking for him to score more in assists/pens/free kicks/goals than another £8m or in this case £9m midfielder.

Does that make sense? I don't think there are a huge number of midfielders at or below this bracket that will outscore Baines, so maybe the money is better spent on him.

The argument against I suppose would be the danger of tying too much money up in defence, making it harder to jump on expensive bandwagons.

          Tough call!

They can chuck the CS cannisters back though and it requires massive amounts of training and organisation.

          Rubber bullets also kill people.

What we're seeing in London with massive amounts of police seems to work, but it leaves open the question of whether the rest of the country can cope.

But as ever, it is open to new entrants and there are still places without entrants in leagues 3 and 4. And if any entrants from leagues 1 and 2 dont fill there place by Tomorrow Midnight, then there places will open up to everyone else.

Personally I think I have sorted out the defence budget shift these looters to front line in Afghanistan. See how they get on then! Only get paid after number of years service then they can have the TV they have always wanted to loot!!

I see Hughes is a popular choice on here. How likely is he to play if Senderos gets the nod. I know he's been shifted to right back which makes me wonder how regular will his place be?

This is the one reason the army could be of use- sheer man power to stop the rioters running away in small groups and evading the police.

The police also need to use armoured vehicles more.

But what about their human rights?

The youth club they never used got shut down you know.

Their bored becasue the government hasn't given them all shiny new bikes and a hula hoop.

The jobs they never applied for are hard to get.

      Totally justified.

    Hi,

Just done a first draft of my first Fantasy Team in a while.

    Feedback appreciated.

    Jaaskalainen, (Al Habsi)

    Shawcross Kompany Vidic (Brown Simpson)

    Nani, Yaya, Brunt, (Tiote), Taraabt,

    Rooney, Suarez, Rodellaga

Still a rough team but hoping to finalise it soon.

    Cheers!

"Four £4.0M’s?! There’s cheap, then there’s just stingy"...I've tried this sort of thing in the past (without quite going to such extremes)...the big problem comes if the big teams start getting cleanies...loads of players will have 2 or more of Baines/ManCity/Chelsea and you'll find it very hard to make up the points elsewhere

I think Taylor and Tate may share LB duties at Swansea. Caulker would be the safest 4.0 choice in my view and he's who I'm going with. But I'm not guaranteeing anything!

Tate is a LB more than CB, but he played CB as Monk was injured for most of last year and then Taylor had the LB spot. Taylor is a better player than Tate, but Tate is a bit of a local legend so I'm sure he'll get games.

It is an expensive defence, but it's intentional to go that way. Baps, meh, they're nice but they're not everything. You can say that forwards will likely get more baps than defenders but you still don't know who those players will be and miss out.

Depends on what your willing to trade off. If that gives you a great midfield and strikeforce then it could be worth it. Not sure about Enrique though. he could arrive at Liverpool by Sat morning and be on bench or something. Even if that doesnt happen Newcastle will concede against Arsenal..
