Back in the routine yet? Maybe another familiar regular is what you need to reacquaint yourself with the route to the weekend Fantasy deadline.

We’ve duly published our first Captain poll of the season, canvassing your views on the destination of the Fantasy armband ahead of the season kick-off.

Straight way, we’ve got an interesting one.

Doubts surrounding the fitness of Robin Van Persie and Luis Suarez level the playing field a little, while Nani and Wayne Rooney will catch the eye, though both may look a risk against a West Brom side who will surely be well-drilled by the crafty Roy Hodgson. Perhaps a gamble on Fernando Torres at Stoke is in order? But then Didier Drogba could easily start at the Britannia, such is the uncertainty surrounding the Andre Villas-Boas teamsheet.

Votes are already streaming in. You can cast yours now via the homepage middle column and use this article to discuss the options.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Opinions on the following welcome ta.....

Currently have Given and Hughes. Could it be a good move to instead go Shwarzer and Clark. Same price for a Villa/Fulham defence combo and my thory being that Hughes has almost zero attacking potential while Clark scored 3 goals in his 1569 mins last season and is attack-minded...

That's a difficult combo to decide on, both are good, I would be leaning towards Given and Hughes, purely because Young/Dunne/Warnock/Collins are all competing for defensive positions along with Clark, and Hughes is pretty nailed on, and just because Clark got 3 goals last year doesn't mean he will get any this year, not enough to go on for me, Given & Hughes better.

What are peoples thoughts on Ramsey? With Fabregas and Nasri all but confirmed out of Arsenal, what position will he play? Wilshere will play deeper? I am seriously considering throwing him in from the get go, as he will sit on my bench for 2 weeks anyway

Wait and see. Wilshere will play deeper, but I just feel there's no rush to get him in.

Just because he will occupy the Fabregas role does not mean he will be able to match his output and fill his boots successfully.

Think it all depends on this weeks transfers mate.

I get the horrible feeling that Nasri and Cesc will both go...and be replaced with a couple more prancing wingers. 🙂

If this is the case and no centre mid is signed it will be Song, Wilshire, Ramsey, with Ramsey given the most freedom to roam/get forward.

I've currently got him in my team as no matter what happens I think he'll play vs Newcastle.

I've got him, playing for a decent club offensively at 6.5m. Before the Shawx leg break, he was a regular starter. I think he will prove worth his value.

Ramsey is a quality player. As soon as it looks certain that Fab/Nasri are off, then he's in my team. Won't get points as consistently as Fab did in his prime, but bloody hell, he's half the price. Got a great shot on him.

He's scored some amazing goals in his time, but I really like this one against Portsmouth. Shows a bit of everything you want in a midfielder in less than 5 seconds.

So I think I've settled on a 25mil defence, even if I'm not totally sure who's in it. Atm I have Brown/Taylor at 4.5, Shawcross/Warnock at 5 and Kompany at 6. I could mix it up a bit price wise but it just looks so pretty. I have it all symmetrical and everything.

Now just need to figure out the rest. Not got much set in stone apart from Nani/Lamps/Moses.

You don't need 2 star keepers espically Reina in my opinion. Too costly for a start while liverpool r having a poor preseason, while conceding alot.

Rafael is not a definite to start, while cahill has a tough start to the season--So maybe think about changing them. Maybe a stoke defender like woodgate for 4.5. Free's up money.

If u did what i suggested above you would be able to free up a nice bit of money to help bulk up your midfield.

I had Drogba 2 but am unsure if he will even start so i got in Rooney instead.

Now that's a fresh look. Wasted cash in the Keeper position. But I guess you have plenty to spare. Maybe a bit too balanced? I wouldn't do it but then I have not been comfortable with the dozens of configs I have come up with either; trying to balance big names with cheap filler. Specifically I would question:
Rafael (rotation), Sagna (rotation, fixturs), Cahill (fixtures), Huth (fixtures & too much $ on the bench). Mids (no heavy guns or captain material), Roberts? I know little of Blackburn's staring team but...

I'd swap Brown for Bramble, Brown Cheaper while also likely to get an odd assist along the way.

I'd Downgrade Kuyt to Downing which free's 1.5 which could let you swap Silva for Toure, who is going to play more defensive this season.

I'd also get out RVP as their 1st few games are rather difficult and maybe get Rooney.

I have a funny feeling that Benyoun will start for chelsea so if you put that 1mill on top of getting Taraabat out you could afford him, just my opinion though bud.

        Glen Johnson? isn't he injured?
You are only having 14 players to choose from. Remove Ferguson and find a 4.5 starter.

hmm. Make the rioters join the army maybe? Make for some good cannon fodder, and also teach them some respect.

Just what the afghan people need... heavily armed rioters turning up in their country. Army is too good for them anyway.

they don't have to be armed, we can use them as IED detection devices.

i doubt motivation level of Arsenal players going into the new season....unless AW sort things out before then, you might be better off picking potential 6.5s elsewhere...

I’d go for the second option – only Rooney is a nailed on starter out of those 4.

I fancy nani over rooney but not sure about drogba. If he plays he will outscore malouda and rooney imo, IF!
