Fernando Torres is an early doubt for Chelsea’s weekend trip to Stoke after reportedly suffering concussion whilst playing for Spain this evening.

The striker lined up for the Spanish against Italy in tonight’s friendly but lasted just 14 minutes before being forced off with a head injury.

Medical staff are expected to examine Torres before offering a further assessment. Already they are insisting that his withdrawal was purely a precaution.

However, if Torres has suffered concussion, he would seem likely to be forced to sit out of the trip to Britannia.

There are already doubts over Andre Villas-Boas’ team selection for Sunday’s game with Torres unable to take his opportunity to impress in the pre-season. Didier Drogba’s physical presence against Tony Pulis’ muscular outfit may well have been preferred regardless of the availability of the £50 million Spaniard.

Drogba was also in action tonight, scoring his 50th international goal via a penalty in Ivory Coast’s 4-3 victory against Israel in Geneva.

Torres is currently owned by over 88,000 Fantasy Premier League managers – Drogba currently claims almost double that figure.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

First time I have ever done this.. Would greatly appreciate if anyone would RMT:

    Given
    Figueroa - Samba - Lescott
    Silva - Moses - Malouda - Taraabt
    Campbell - Carroll - RVP

Subs: Ruddy, De Laet, Simpson, Ferguson

    £3,5m in the bank

Transfer plans (depending on 'form'/potential after GW1): Carroll for Bent / Carroll for Drogba. Money in the bank and heavy-hitters in each position will allow to basically transfer whoever. Staying away from Man Utd. players until GW4, hopefully a gamble that will pay off.

    Any thoughts?

Samba doubtful, Ferguson will not start, get rid. I know he's only £4m but every player should have a chance of playing to cover unexpected absentees. Not sold on Silva as a FPL prospect but that's just my opinion. My other two points are fact. Good luck.

Its a good team, Samba is a bit of a doubt for gw1 and I'd wait and see what way QPR line up before putting in Campbell.

Always a good idea to keep some cash but i'd put in a Chelsea defender instead of Samba.

I just cant see Mancini dropping Silva, hes immense! Im guessing something like:

          --De Jong Toure--
          Silva Aguero Nasri
          ------Dzeko-------

If Tevez leaves that is, with obviously Biblotelli thrown in their too. Pretty scary looking team!

Surely one of them has to be played centrally? How can the triple-defensive-midfielders policy continue with two players who can have such influence centrally?

    Hi please can you RMT?

    Given/Al-Habsi
    Kompany/Lescott/Hughes/De Laet/Orr
    Nani/Silva/Taarabt/Moses/Sessegnon
    Drogba/Carroll/Zamora

I'm not sure about Lescott but i can't see any other 6.5k defenders that i want apart from Luiz who is an injury doubt.

Nani i've got in but i plan to change to Malouda or downgrade to N'Zogdi to free up funds.

I fancy Suarez more than Carroll but he's a doubt so i'll start with him and bring in Suarez as and when.

I'd like to start with RVP instead of Drogba but my thinking is start the season with guaranteed starters then change when necessary.

Any help thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Given (Ruddy)
    Baines, Kompany, Johnson, Warnock (Simpson)
    Downing, Silva, Benayoun, Ramsey (Barkley)
    Drogba, Bent (Campbell)

Benayoun is my major worry, will all the speculation around him at the moment.

I have 0.5m in the bank, thinking of bringing in Cahill in the GW2, he is looking sharp, first full pre-season in years and a goal last night for Aus.

Assuming you've got your defensive rotation worked out for the first few weeks and you're happy with it, and you don't mind an early wildcard if it goes tits up then I think it's ok.

My one query would be Sinclair, when are you going to play him? Moses has decent fixtures for the first 3 and you won't be dropping anyone you've paid >8m for so why do you need Sinclair? You could use that 1.5 somewhere else.

If nari goes city is anyone going to take a punt on him over silva? Im not sold on silva. even when he plays really well he doesnt rack up points where as nasri knows where the goal is. i fancy nasri will score more than silva assuming he plays. but will he?

I kinda know what you mean! He was propped up by alot of BPs last year - and with the new scoring for BPs not sure if he will get as many

Nasri will surely play if he joins, i can see Barry/Milner/Johnson being frozen out - and Tevez leaving

de Jong, Yaya, Silva, Nasri, Balotellli/Dzeko, Aguero

People are mainly putting Silva in cos they are playing Swansea at home GW1. Effectively this will end up costing many people 4 points to take him out (unless you WC early).

Silva up til now is a bit like Modric, could be best player on the pitch but rarely gets the goal/assist.
I'll wait & see if Nasri plays every game, Man City midfield starting to look a little crowded. Although surely he would Balotelli out of the side.

    GK
Cech (150+ FPL pts almost guaranteed)
Moreira (Swansea got about 20 CS last season so hoping that will at least partly transfer over)
    DEF
Baines (value if he repeats 178pts)
Kompany (Another 18 CS & he would be value)
+ 3 fillers rotate according to fixtures/home advantage (Orr, Simpson, De Laet)
    MID
Nani + Malouda (Feel I can't afford to leave them out if they both have 180pt seasons)
Sess (OOP striker, strong finish to last season, strong pre-season)
Sinclair (this season's Adam? Hard to ignore 20 odd league goals last season, pens+free kicks)
Moses (cheap, could step up to fill NZog role, stong pre-season)
    FOR
Bent + Carroll (Seems like not many of the top options are fit to start the season, these 2 seem the best in terms of fitness & fixtures)
Graham (gone a bit Swansea heavy but it seems the best option for a 5.0 forward)

Aah fanks, too many subs usually kills my chances but I want to keep a 'structure' this time.
          2 expensive DEF + 3 fillers
2 expensive MID + 3 mid price MIDs
          2 expensive STR + 1 filler
Having said that I'll normally go & play my wildcard Saturday around 5pm-ish

As long as you are happy to not have RVP or Rooney. Effectively you are sacrificing that to accommodate the two expensive midfielder. I have gone the other way: RVP instead of Carroll and NZog instead of Nani, but either way could be good.

Rooney with a full summer of RnR behind him looks highly tempting except for the doubts about him playing deeper? Oh no don't get thinking about re-arranging my team again.
I've made a solemn pleadge to ignore injury prone players RVP, Arteta, Torres been burned too many times.

Yeah, I agree. I like this team a lot. Only problem I can see arising, is when Rooney & RVP fire and you have to make two team structure altering transfers to get one in. Apart from that, it looks very solid, and not the cookie cutter FFS stock standard team either. I like the idea of having a solid GK in Cech and have experimented at different times with that idea, whilst covering the City and Everton clean sheets. You've also got your 4 captaincy options in Nani, Malouda, Bent & Carroll. Well done sir!

Looks good to me..! However, why cant you upgrade Graham to Rod? might need to do a bit more, to arrange cash.

Michel Vorm is gonna be no.1 gk at swansea.Overall, I think your team looks very well balanced....though you might want some spare cash to ship out Graham....

I can't login either. Maybe they are changing the rules and giving us another WC as the possibility of cancelled games looms.

Does Nasri being included in Arsenal's Champions league squad, mean he will be Cup tied for Champions league matches when he moves to City?

Or does he have to actually play for Arsenal to be Cup tied

Too much of a risk for me. If he went to Sunderland he would be a great option at 6.0. May put an end to the Sessegnon bandwagon.
