Fernando Torres is an early doubt for Chelsea’s weekend trip to Stoke after reportedly suffering concussion whilst playing for Spain this evening.

The striker lined up for the Spanish against Italy in tonight’s friendly but lasted just 14 minutes before being forced off with a head injury.

Medical staff are expected to examine Torres before offering a further assessment. Already they are insisting that his withdrawal was purely a precaution.

However, if Torres has suffered concussion, he would seem likely to be forced to sit out of the trip to Britannia.

There are already doubts over Andre Villas-Boas’ team selection for Sunday’s game with Torres unable to take his opportunity to impress in the pre-season. Didier Drogba’s physical presence against Tony Pulis’ muscular outfit may well have been preferred regardless of the availability of the £50 million Spaniard.

Drogba was also in action tonight, scoring his 50th international goal via a penalty in Ivory Coast’s 4-3 victory against Israel in Geneva.

Torres is currently owned by over 88,000 Fantasy Premier League managers – Drogba currently claims almost double that figure.

  Good question and one I'm currently mulling over now that Torres is out.
  
  The liklihood though is that Torres will miss at most the away game at Stoke. That wasn't exactly a plum tie anyway so whatever you thought before shouldn't have changed much.

My thoughts on the Torres situation.

If he has had to come off with concussion its highly unlikely that he'l play this weekend.

It's therefore Drogbas place in the side to keep, if he performs it would be extremely harsh to drop him vs WBA.

They may play as a front two, or Torres may come off the bench for him earlier than normal, but I think Drogba will start the next two games at least.

  I like the goalkeeper combination- everyone's going for Given but Fulham have a great defence and in my opinion, Fulham have a better defence than Villa's.

Alright Guys and Girl (although I haven't seen Fran in a while...)

What are people's views on Albrighton this season. He started last season well and I think he could score well (6.5m so you don't have to look him up). On one hand I think he'll get more of a role given their sales over the summer, on the other Villa might be rubbish this year.

Thoughts?

  His price was 12 or close ... the thoughts about him 'not being worth it' are based on him getting older, player deeper (supposedly), and therefore not returning as many points as in previous years.
