Fernando Torres is an early doubt for Chelsea’s weekend trip to Stoke after reportedly suffering concussion whilst playing for Spain this evening.

The striker lined up for the Spanish against Italy in tonight’s friendly but lasted just 14 minutes before being forced off with a head injury.

Medical staff are expected to examine Torres before offering a further assessment. Already they are insisting that his withdrawal was purely a precaution.

However, if Torres has suffered concussion, he would seem likely to be forced to sit out of the trip to Britannia.

There are already doubts over Andre Villas-Boas’ team selection for Sunday’s game with Torres unable to take his opportunity to impress in the pre-season. Didier Drogba’s physical presence against Tony Pulis’ muscular outfit may well have been preferred regardless of the availability of the £50 million Spaniard.

Drogba was also in action tonight, scoring his 50th international goal via a penalty in Ivory Coast’s 4-3 victory against Israel in Geneva.

Torres is currently owned by over 88,000 Fantasy Premier League managers – Drogba currently claims almost double that figure.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Jose Enrique to Liverpool!! (According to numerous sources on twitter) More money upfront 🙂
Erik Pieters is believed to be flying in from PSV for medicals and finalise a contract with the Toon Army paving the way for the Reds to get Jose for just 5.5 million. Best news is his FPL value is just 5.0 🙂 I don't expect him to play against Sunderland

I don't see Kuyt returning the same amount of points as he did end of last season. I know he's probably on pens but I still don't think he'll do great.

Good team. Just no City cover, but you can't have VP/Rooney if you put Silva in.

Other question is how much do you think Cole is worth his pricetag over the season?
Can save 2.5 and put in say Johnson and upgrade a midfielder.

couple of questions on this seemingly done deal enrique transfer

      1) will he be a regular? doesnt johnson occupy LB
      2) the common 5.0 choice seems to be hughes with better fixtures at the start compared to liverpools hardish start stick or twist?

I know yea, I don't think it's as nailed on as people are making out. There's thoughts that we might just hope Aurelio stays fit and put the rest of our money towards a centre half. Whilst Enrique is at Newcastle Huges is undoubtedly the best shout.

        1) He should be a regular. Johnson only seemed to play LB when Kelly was in the team otherwise he should go back to RB. I think Aurelio is competition for the LB spot but I'd assume if they're both Jose then he will be first choice.

        2) I don't have a 5m defender but I'd stick with Hughes for now and look at getting in Enrique later when Liverpool have better fixtures and you know he's playing regularly.

    Given(Ruddy)
    Baines Kompany Orr (Hughes, Simpson)
    N'Somnia Nani Silva(C) Moses (O'Hara)
    Suarez Goodwille Drogba

Taking a punt on Goodwille, and Suarez/Baines will turn into Carroll/Cole depending on fitness!

And so this isn't just a RMT and if you would like to discuss something else, how do you guys think Stoke will do in europe? Got a token £1 bet on them to take europe one compound fracture at a time and win the whole damn thing!

    bit of a different RTM

    Given (Ruddy)
    Kompany – Hughes – Ivanovic (Gabbidon,Simpson)
Lampard – Silva – Malouda – Taarabt (Dyer)
    Holt – Bent – Rodallega

back 7 is like alot on here, only prob is i cant find the 0.5 to fit Cole in

lamps is only for the 1st 3 weeks then change and Rodallega to RVP & 6.5 midfielder

    Lamps GW2 WestBrom GW3 Norwich
    Rooney GW2 Tottenham GW3 Arsenal
    RVP GW2 Liverpool GW3 United

would much rather give the armband to lamps eather week and Rodallega is playing the 3 new boys 1st 3 so should get a goal or 2

I am skeptical about Lamps at the beginning of the season. He has been kind of slow to adapt to AVB's style of play. Might take him a bit to get going. Id much rather have Malouda to start the season. If you have Lamps I think he have to hold on to him to get the return on the investment because he will come good eventually. But I am not risking 12m to start the season.

I have Tarrabt in the MF rather than Sesse but same idea. I have a bit less in defense and my 3rd striker is a 6.5m (Roda or Ba to start with enough cash to upgrade to Zamora). I think I will be playing 3-4-3 alot (hopefully). Kompany-Brana with a rotation of Roger Johnson-Taylor-O'Shea (or Bardsley with O'Shea an injury doubt) depending on fixtures. Malouda-NZog-Moses (if Moses pans out as we think) I believe are every day starters (Malouda also being Nani at times or VDV or Silva depending on fixtures/injuries etc.). Big difference for me is with Suarez upfront instead of Holt (I have Zamora penciled in to sub for Rodallega after week 3). Suarez and Rooney are every week starters no matter what the fixture and between Rooney, Suarez and Malouda/Nani/VDV/Silva there are 3 options for captain every week.

I dont want to put RVP in at first because of the tough fixtures and want to see how he holds up health wise. Traditionally the moment I transfer in RVP he gets hurt immediately around the 22nd minute armband and all. Just. Say. No. Although it could come back to haunt me. But I am laying RVP this season not playing.

Will you play 3-5-2. Expensive three Def, ....... might make sense to hold off on one expensive def, wait for team value to increase, then get another top def in gw 12 or so.

Now you only have about two captain choices-- roons and malouda, maybe nzog. Roons has a tuff schedule. I think your other four mids are close in price making it difficult to bring on RVP- that is caused by three rich defenders. Just how I think about it. I did OK last season, my first. Good luck to ya, go get 'em.

well if you are planning on playing 3-4-3 team B is far stronger with RVP upfront.

almost identical to mine as well. I have decided to go with Suarez upfront though as I think he will score almost as many goals over the season and get more assists and bonus points. 9.5 million is a great value for Suarez. But if he isnt nailed on first week I may switch to Carroll and then back to Suarez when he is clearly back in the starting XI. If that is the case though, I would might start the season with Rodallega or Ba upfront because I dont want to have to start Zamora against Given. If Suarez is starting I can go with Zamora and move him to the bench. I still have 1m in reserve with Zamora too, 1.5m with Roda or Ba. On defense I am going with Brana instead of Cole plus Roger Johnson and Bardsley instead of Hughes and Orr.

Has anyone else lost interest in building their team because of these f ucking rioters? I mean, who the f uck's actually going to be playing this weekend?

These thoughtless cun ts have potentially destroyed weeks of preparation.

A mate of mine had an interesting concept of how to stop rioting. Instead of randomly positioning baton wielding, impotent police, they should deploy experienced cooks at strategic positions to make massive pots of curry (and rice).

Result? Everyone has a belly full and wanders home happy.

cahill terrible fixtures, blackburn's as a whole look shaky

alacaraz needs an upgrade to someone like hughes

ramsey an injury doubt, adam won't be on pens and not a cert start may want to swap for a cheaper like nzogbia +easy fixtures

      wellbeck needs a switcharoo/upgrade

as for your subs enrique is not a dead cert to be transferred to 'pool and r johnson shouldn't be benched, he's a risk worth taking here's my team. There's at least 2 hitters in each line. I'm taking a risk on the weak subs, hope it pays off

      Al-Habsi (Ruddy)

Kompany Baines R Johnson (Gabbidon Simpson)

      Moses Nani Nzogbia Silva (Dyer)

baines for me is a risk, everton have big injury list and baines will be doing more defending than attacking. I think spurs will win easily as everton dont usually start to brightly. blackburn wolves has 0-0 wrtten all over it IMO
Maybe Samba to score a late winner (would be nice!)
        wigan win?
        city win?
        utd win?
        chelsea win?
villa might nick it with a bent score from nzog assist
feck it im gonna have to change it again
im going to go with ballotelli to run riot and score a hatrick........i might just make him captain......lol

That's a risky team. Too much power on the bench.. wellbeck was spotty last year. General consensus is Adam won't be the player this year, that he was last.

I think you need at least one 4.0 defender, and bank the .5 and use it to respond to the action from week one in GW2. That will enable you to make one move and not two moves (and lose 4 pts) to adjust your team. Huge advantage in no hits.

Good luck, I do like a team that is different than the rest and believe me the top 1000 in GW1 won't look like the generic, applauded teams you see on here day after day.

"believe me the top 1000 in GW1 won’t look like the generic, applauded teams you see on here day after day"...this is undoubtedly true but it's also undoubtedly irrelevent

how much time have you spent studying the teams in the bottom 1000?...I bet you none of them look like the generic (i.e. good) teams you see on here

pick 15 good players who are popular on here and the chances are you'll be in the top 250,000 at worst after 3-6 weeks

and if you're lucky you'll be flying higher than that

After Hendandez get's fit Welbeck will be playing 20 mins a week. Ramsey might not play considering Fabs and Nasri are still there, Adam might not have so many set pieces or pens for Liverpool and is therefore overpriced. You have no defenders from either of the top 6 teams and your subs are too good to be sitting on the bench.

I don't think it's a great idea TBH, especially early when we really don't know what form the teams are in. I suppose if it does go tits up you could switch one of them to a Chelsea defender for GW2

I think they will prove great value if you're happy to leave them in all season. However you could just start with both and then change one to Cole (or another Chelsea defender) after GW1.

You think they will concede against Swansea?

as a villa supporter im doubtful about our squad this season.
Talk from villa park is bent as a lone striker with five across the middle with nzog being searched for with long balls out of a scrambling defense and him looking to feed bent. I think we'll be to predictable and I dont like all this talk of villa having easy openers.
Having supported villa for 35 yrs i should know.
we have a weak defense, dunne is a liabilty, neither him or collins have any pace, young and warnock never get passed the halfway line, and i can see Mcleish playing nzog left, gabby right, with makoun, petrov, delph or ireland through the middle. predictable subs will be albrighton for gabby, and makoun for heskey if we're chasing a result. Just my opinion from a villa perspective. Hence ive no villa midfielders or defenders!!
