From MI6 to the CIA, never has there been such rigid protection of confidential information than that surrounding Mark’s initial Fantasy squad. So, when super-secret agent himself joined me in the studio for our first podcast of the season, I was resigned to getting thrown the odd teasing titbit but little else.

However, it was to my very great surprise that he’d gone and left the proverbial back door open, there, “live” on air, he handed me a laptop giving me open access to his team on screen right in front of me. Since I was already in the house, he reluctantly decided to show me around.

An unexpected twist to our first podcast of the season and, dare I say it, a rare privilege for the listener.

  i put him in already. why waste a transfer on him later and risk the price rise when you can do it for free now? my auto-sub will take care of him until he starts, plus liverpool will leak goals anyway, so you won't be missing out on cleanies.

  I'm getting him in now, to save me making the transfer later. If he plays, Great. If not, one of my other two cheapie defenders should be a good enough sub. Either way, I think he's likely to go up in value after Week 1, and I'm all about team value this early in the season.

OK we have seen all the talk off the Arsenal lineup now Fab and Nasri are set to leave. What about Manutd lineup, the midfield and upfront is always to hard to predict especially with Hernandez out at the moment. I need help predicting the defence, alarmingly left-back on everybodys lips.

My opinion:

Rafael, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra

Could be Smalling or even Evans or Valencia. Very very hard to pick but my money is on Rafael.

  If healthy Ferdinand, Vidic and Evra are pretty much nailed on meaning that Rafa, Fabio, Smalling and possibly even Taylor will be fighting it out for that RB on most weeks. Too much of a lottery for me atm so will have to see how it plays out.
