From MI6 to the CIA, never has there been such rigid protection of confidential information than that surrounding Mark’s initial Fantasy squad. So, when super-secret agent himself joined me in the studio for our first podcast of the season, I was resigned to getting thrown the odd teasing titbit but little else.

However, it was to my very great surprise that he’d gone and left the proverbial back door open, there, “live” on air, he handed me a laptop giving me open access to his team on screen right in front of me. Since I was already in the house, he reluctantly decided to show me around.

An unexpected twist to our first podcast of the season and, dare I say it, a rare privilege for the listener.

          Now you're talking! I have 6/7 of those 8 depending on whether I go N'Zog or Downing. Tempted to go Doyle instead of Rodallega (to avoid having too much Wigan) and bench for GW1, but know I might regret that.

      I've gone with Malouda/Rooney. Nani may be rotated in a week or two and Rooney is much safer for me than Drogba, especially of Torres comes back.

      Liking the Gervinho pick. Takes balls to say that on here. Perhaps you like going against the grain though as you've also gone Schwarzer... Again I like it, but don't be different for different sake.

      It ticks all my boxes except for the Bent pick. He's only "meh" in my opinion.

      Can I ask why the confidence in Gervinho over say, Suarez or a little more for Carroll?

        Like Hernandez when he came to Utd, I think defenders wont know what to expect with Gervinho, hence although a gamble might be a nice differential! Bent is on pens and nice fixtures to start with...

          Yeah, but 10m. And with a defence first manager? I'm going to do a 'wait and see' until they've played a Fulham team who will be fitter than most having started their european campaign. That goes for N'Zogbia too - would like him to be behind Bent, but it may well be Ireland (remember him!).

        I prefer Rooney over Nani and Drogba (at the price) over Malouda so it kind of limits me going big in midfield.

        By no means am I saying it's the winning formula, just gives me more of a tingle than seeing the same ol' names in the midfield as last year 🙂

      Really like it - but what are your thoughts for getting Chelsea players involved after GW1?

      Considering Drogba could only be 50/50 to play when Torres comes back you could be very light on Chelsea players for their two home games.

        Good point. In typical fashion I havent though more than one week ahead. I'm jsut not sure who to go for for the Chels coverage. Lots going for Malouda, not seeing much Lamps. There's no obv choice. Defence maybe. I'll have a think

    has the scout actually missed any potential differential off???

    FPL used to reward effort and research now rivals can do sod all read that every week and know exactly what to do

    no offense I like the chaps on the site, but that article is ridiculous, for example expect Moses ownership to rocket and become the norm wheras those that took the time to follow pre season may well have found an aces differential
