From MI6 to the CIA, never has there been such rigid protection of confidential information than that surrounding Mark’s initial Fantasy squad. So, when super-secret agent himself joined me in the studio for our first podcast of the season, I was resigned to getting thrown the odd teasing titbit but little else.

However, it was to my very great surprise that he’d gone and left the proverbial back door open, there, “live” on air, he handed me a laptop giving me open access to his team on screen right in front of me. Since I was already in the house, he reluctantly decided to show me around.

An unexpected twist to our first podcast of the season and, dare I say it, a rare privilege for the listener.

      I have been worrying about the same, decided to drop the Liverpool coverage but am not happy about it!
      
      So downgrade Lescott to boring Kompany, and unfortunately Sessegnon to someone not so useful....then Rooney in for Carroll.
      
      Not sure if that is the best tactic though but it is what I am currently going for.

  Decent defence, good idea going with 3. Gabbidon a starter?
  Taarabt i'm not convinced. I'd swap for D Duff or find 1.0m more for N'Zogbia. Nani a must. Moses is a poor choice. Barton a pricey sub, swap for a cheaper guaranteed starter and use the money elsewhere (N'Zogbia?) 6.0m player on the bench is a waste.
  Bent always a safe bet. Can't comment on Holt.
  Have you thought about captain for GW1? No standout candidate in that team

  There's a few 'ifs' in there though. There might be a few GW's in the season when it's a genuinely good option, but usually there's just safer bets around.

  The key think there is IF.
  
  The good thing about having a midfielder or striker as a captain is if they go behind they have even more incentive to score goals. If your defender concedes you are kind of screwed, unless it is Baines.
