From MI6 to the CIA, never has there been such rigid protection of confidential information than that surrounding Mark’s initial Fantasy squad. So, when super-secret agent himself joined me in the studio for our first podcast of the season, I was resigned to getting thrown the odd teasing titbit but little else.

However, it was to my very great surprise that he’d gone and left the proverbial back door open, there, “live” on air, he handed me a laptop giving me open access to his team on screen right in front of me. Since I was already in the house, he reluctantly decided to show me around.

An unexpected twist to our first podcast of the season and, dare I say it, a rare privilege for the listener.

        It's very straight forward.

        You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out.
        When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game

      same dillema. i've gone nani/drog w/carroll up front as well. i figure nani more solid than malouda and cheaper. if anyone is going to put up pts. in chelsea's first three easy matches it's drogba, especially w/torres a doubt.

    One thing is certain, come Sunday evening, the weekend will not have gone how we all thought it would go, Baptiste/Harewood had a field day, Baptiste with a goal or assist and a clean sheet, and Harewood with a brace if I recall correctly.

    I remember laughing at my buddy who had picked two cheap Blackpool players he admitted to knowing nothing about when we first saw each other teams on that fateful Saturday morning. I had Boselli, Jiminez et al. I was not laughing on Saturday night.

    I currently have Al-Habsi but could really do with saving the .5m by downgrading to Ruddy (+Given). . I'm really struggling Ruddy + Given rotation... Not least because Moses and Zamora are in my team for GW1.

    Please can someone talk me into Given + Ruddy. Make me feel better about it. Benefits over Given Al-Habsi etc.

    Would be much appreciated!

      Given + Ruddy have the highest goalie rotation rating and rotate perfectly for 17 of the first 19 GWs. Pretty much the best 9M combination out there imo. I'd probably start Given most weeks regardless but good to have that option.

      Have the same issue. Going with Al-Habsi and starting him GW1. The Ruddy/Given rotation is really not great, worth the extra .5m for Al-H I think.

        Meireles and Whitehead are totally unnecessary, especially since you've got Kuyt to cover the Liverpool midfield. Wigan's defense is crap so I wouldn't have Alcaraz.
