EA Sports Index Points Released

As many of you may have noticed, the EA Sports Index has already been published on the Premier League site. This, of course, is how the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) will break down the Bonus Points in this season’s game.

Many of the names are as we anticipated, though what’s something of a surprise is Shay Given, with 5 saves in Aston Villa’s 0-0 draw at Fulham, looks as though he’s earned no Bonus Points, despite keeping the Cottagers at bay. Newcastle’s Steven Taylor, on the other hand, is the top-rated player on the Index for the goalless Newcastle-Arsenal game. Wigan’s Victor Moses, Man of the Match in many press sources with 9 successful dribbles and 3 shots, is also likely to miss out.

As expected, goal scoring is the main factor- by the looks of things, Luis Suarez, Wayne Rooney, Ivan Klasnic and Steven Fletcher are the highest-rated players on the EA Sports Index for their respective games and seem set to grab all 3 Bonus Points.

Fantasy Football Scout will, of course, be breaking down the Bonus in full for the Premier League and you can expect our article on the matter to be published later today.

    This Jadson news seems to be a non runner -

    Hopefully stats will not be the B all and end all. If they use stats as a base, and then apply some common sense it could work fantastically. Whether they will do this or not I sincerly doubt..

      sess was pretty effective, go for it. 2nd only behind Brown. Him and gyan didnt link up that much but sess was def the main threat.
      Colback had a good second half and is one to watch.

    Some interesting scores all the same.

    De Gea outscores Given, and Cech scores only one point more than Reina... clean sheets don't seem very valuable.

    Not being on the winning team didn't matter to Suarez who got the same points as a winning Rooney, despite Suarez's penalty miss.

    In a scoreless draw (FUL AVL), three attacking players come out on top of the index scoring.

    All in all, it's going to take a while to really get to grips with the system. It just seems there are so many variables and they are weighted in an incredibly skewed manner. Will lead to a lot more ranting I believe (myself included probably :P)
