The ScoutCast – Episode 54 – Crash

As if out of sympathy for the Fantasy Premier League, or podcast recording software crashed at the death this week. Finished. Kaput.

Panic ensued – hands on head there were cries of “I can’t go through that again” from host Mark as I desperately attempted to recover our lost words. Luckily, temporary files restored, our fifty fourth episode was rescued and rebuilt like Ledley King’s knee. Hopefully it won’t collapse again next week – like Ledley King’s knee.

Within it you’ll find unusually muted tones as Mark and I dissect the events or rather “non-events” of the weekend. Frustrations vented, this week’s broadcast picks up to its usual pace and departs on an optimistic note.

Listen in and share our pain.

Help please, should I get someone better than Mikel and Zamora in the following and if so how?

    Given (Vorm)
    Baines A-Hole Kompany (Enrique, Simpson)
    Silva Sess Moses Mikel (Brunt)
    Zamora Aguero Bent

    Thanks.

Zamora is a good shout. No need to replace.

Mikel on the other hand. You would be better off changing A cole to boswinga or alex and using the funds to get Dempsey or someone in that bracket in.

I would get VDV in for GW 3... City at home - Or GW 4 when we have Wolves..

    What to change:

    .5m in bank

    given - bego
    cole - komp - simpson - delaet - brown
    sinclair - nzog - larsson - moses - surman
    aguero - rooney - torres

light in MF and top heavy preferring aguero/rooney/torres over their repsective MF options

    Some help here guys?

    VDV or Young?
Neither have great fixtures, but VDV should pick up the BPs when Spurs win as he is involved in most goals,so head says VDV

    Downing or Yaya

Already have Suarez and Silva,so would be doubling up on City or Liverpool attack.

Anyone else worth considering < 9m

OK, so this is my first season playing FPL so go easy!

Was caught up the debacle of GW1 and only managed a measly 29 points with my auto-selected team, so grateful for the unlimited subs this week to enter a ‘proper’ team.

Toying with two line-ups at the moment, so any thoughts/advice/tips on my two options gratefully received:

    Given (Begovic)
    Warnock Bosingwa Shawcross (Cahill Senderos)
    Silva VDVaart (Tiote) Mikel Cleverly
    Dzeko Rooney Suarez

    Or:

    Given (Begovic)
    Warnock Bosingwa Shawcross (Cahill Senderos)
    Silva (Bale) Walcott Mikel Cleverly
    Aguero Welbeck Suarez

My feeling is probably the former, but as I've only spent about 3 hours on different line-ups it could undoubtedly still be improved!

Any thoughts gratefully received. Be as honest as you like - I have a thick skin!

Why not call it a wild card?

We've already become familiar with time restricted wild cards - we have one that has to be played in January.

How is it different if it is restricted to only 1 week?

Because the jan wildcard can be played in any week in Jan, thus giving the players choice. A wildcard implies you can choose, but it's all just terminology. bit of a stupid debate, but I guess it's right to say that it is unlimited transfers as opposed to a one-week time-limited wild card

In an unlikely, and some would say unrealistic Hollywood thriller style scenario, he's been forced to pick a team by some drug crazed muslim latino terrorists. If he gets less than 36 pts his family dies.
