As if out of sympathy for the Fantasy Premier League, or podcast recording software crashed at the death this week. Finished. Kaput.

Panic ensued – hands on head there were cries of “I can’t go through that again” from host Mark as I desperately attempted to recover our lost words. Luckily, temporary files restored, our fifty fourth episode was rescued and rebuilt like Ledley King’s knee. Hopefully it won’t collapse again next week – like Ledley King’s knee.

Within it you’ll find unusually muted tones as Mark and I dissect the events or rather “non-events” of the weekend. Frustrations vented, this week’s broadcast picks up to its usual pace and departs on an optimistic note.

      Zamora is a good shout. No need to replace.

      Mikel on the other hand. You would be better off changing A cole to boswinga or alex and using the funds to get Dempsey or someone in that bracket in.

    light in MF and top heavy preferring aguero/rooney/torres over their repsective MF options

    Neither have great fixtures,but VDV should pick up the BPs when Spurs win as he is involved in most goals,so head says VDV

    Downing or Yaya

    Already have Suarez and Silva,so would be doubling up on City or Liverpool attack.

          Miereles? Milner, Johnson (although playing time may be an issue). Taarabt? On return from injury, Wilshere should be a good bet, and looks great value at £6.5m

    OK, so this is my first season playing FPL so go easy!

    Was caught up the debacle of GW1 and only managed a measly 29 points with my auto-selected team, so grateful for the unlimited subs this week to enter a ‘proper’ team.

    Toying with two line-ups at the moment, so any thoughts/advice/tips on my two options gratefully received:

    Given (Begovic)
    Warnock Bosingwa Shawcross (Cahill Senderos)
    Silva VDVaart (Tiote) Mikel Cleverly
    Dzeko Rooney Suarez

    Or:

    Given (Begovic)
    Warnock Bosingwa Shawcross (Cahill Senderos)
    Silva (Bale) Walcott Mikel Cleverly
    Aguero Welbeck Suarez

    My feeling is probably the former, but as I've only spent about 3 hours on different line-ups it could undoubtedly still be improved!

    Any thoughts gratefully received. Be as honest as you like - I have a thick skin!

      I dont get it either. He's bound to be injured for 6-8 weeks very soon. Quite apart from the fact that he doesnt appear to be the man he was a couple of seasons ago. Overpriced luxury imho.

    Why not call it a wild card?

    We've already become familiar with time restricted wild cards - we have one that has to be played in January.

    How is it different if it is restricted to only 1 week?

      Because the jan wildcard can be played in any week in Jan, thus giving the players choice. A wildcard implies you can choose, but it's all just terminology. bit of a stupid debate, but I guess it's right to say that it is unlimited transfers as opposed to a one-week time-limited wild card
