The second gameweek of the Premier League season comes to a close tonight at Old Trafford, as champions Manchester United play host to a Tottenham Hotspur side belatedly starting their league campaign. The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open for business, so come in and take a seat whilst we mull over the all-important team news…

Injuries force Sir Alex to play an extremely young defence who, along with goalkeeper David De Gea, have an average age of just 22. Unforced however, is the youth in attack for the home side, who also have Javier Hernandez back in their match-day squad.

Man United XI: De Gea, Smalling, Jones, Evans, Evra, Anderson, Cleverley, Nani, Young, Rooney, Welbeck

As for the visitors, Luka Modric didn’t take the trip up the M1 because, according to Spurs boss Harry Redknapp, “his head isn’t right” with speculation about his future still rife. Elsewhere, Brad Friedel makes his club debut and Jake Livermore starts after scoring midweek at Tynecastle.

Spurs XI: Friedel; Walker, Dawson, Kaboul, Assou-Ekotto; Lennon, Kranjcar, Livermore, Bale; Van der Vaart; Defoe

Take a pew in the Dugout Discussion chatroom, where you can follow all the action from tonight’s game.

Probably a stipid question but does a player have to get to 100% or 200% to fall in price?

Yeah it was me that said he'd get 15 but I changed my mind and said double figures. 2 in 2 not a bad start though

      1 goal, 22 games.

Torres most certainly *could* continue not scoring. But if you have him already, I don't think it's crazy to give him a chance, at home, to Norwich.

Tough question ... depends on your team, if you have no other transfers to make and don't want to save it > switch him out.

What will hurt you more: if Suarez scores or if you trade out Torres and he scores?

The concern over price changes are a bit amplified on here, imo. Just put out the best team you can - the rest sorts out.

Yes, price changes can occur any day, if net transfers in/out are enough. They change 2 a.m.-ish BST (if any). Max change per day = 0.1

What's usually more trustworthy, CTC or Total FPL?

And to all the people wanting to ditch Torres, if you got him in you probably did for two weeks, no point ditching him before a home match v Norwich (no matter how bad he's been)

    A few questions:

    (1) Is Shane Long a good investment? Great fixtures coming up. Two goals against two quality sides and WBA did pay a lot of coin for him so on Odemwingie's imminent return will they play together?

    (2) Should I bring Suarez in for one of Dzeko/Torres? I imagine his price will rise tonight but his fixtures aren't particularly fantastic. On the other hand he's a lot less likely to be rotated than either Dzeko or Torres. Thoughts?

    (3) Is Hoolahan too prone to rotation? Thinking about doing Hoolahan to Sessegnon. Will Sess continue to play as an OOP forward?

2.If you got Torres in you probably did for two weeks, no point ditching him before a home match v Norwich (no matter how bad he’s been).

I forcast 10 just because it seems a common price amongst the top 4 team midfielders and because prices have been so high. Like last year, Long would not have been 6.0 coming in unproven in the premier league and on a so so team like WB. Look at Carroll for example, 5.5 last year on the Toons 10 on Liverpool.

gervhino was 9.0 - similar type of record
aguero 11 - superior record over a longer period.

Decided against doing Torres -> Suarez before price rise.. Theres no better time to give a player 1 more chance than a game at home to Norwich, perfect time to bring in Aguero for gwk 4 if Torres does nothing (or even if he does)

I was gonna do it to accomodate Yaya -> Silva, which I can't do now without Torres -> Suarez, anyone think I should go ahead with both moves or good logic behind not making any transfers?

Not gonna jump on the Long bandwagon but yes. Though Long scored from 2 mistakes and done very little else - the poor pass for Tchoyi for example. Fulham haven't scored yet, but if they do, it'll be Zamora.

Yes, finally stopped getting error messages and its let me transfer out torres. Suarez better for the long run and a bargain at 9.5

At least put Kompany number one, you should actually consider him over Moses

You think? They didn't look particularly solid against the noblots and Spurs will be no easier. Gutted i started Kompany this week with 2 cleanies sitting on the bench

I disagree with this. Young was tearing Tot up. Also, Nani's missed shots will hurt his BP potential.

why? N'Zogbia doesn't look like he'll be getting up front, so far he hasn't been involved at all.

Lol. I'd give him one more chance vs.QPR. Tbh, I never trusted Al Habsi, Rodallega & Moses but their fixtures were just too good - 2 draws. Like your username suggests, Wigan should go down.

this game week he will get points imo. patience he's been good. and at 5.0 what were you expecting? he should be a 5th mid you rotate in and out based on fixtures anyway...

moses has been unlucky and is close to scoring. nzogbia is nowhere near.
nani is defo a better choice than young by the way. im a villa fan so i know what he's like and hes no goalscorer whereas nani can obviously finish as we saw at wembley not so long ago

Agree about Moses, disagree about Young vs Nani. Both look good for points each week imo. Young has been excellent and is surrounded by better players now. Basically flip a coin on who will get you an assist or goal on any given gameweek, Nani or Young.

Rooney is the sure choice, but pricey.
