The Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game has now been updated with Bonus Points from the weekend’s nine games. While they may, of course be subject to change as they review any contentious decisions, the initial allocation as of this morning reads as follows:

Arsenal vs Swansea
Gibbs 3, Sagna 2, Arshavin 1

Arsenal’s full-backs pick up the bonus plaudits – evidence again that the new FPL bonus system is looking kindly on full-backs who are heavily involved in the play this season. Andrei Arshavin picks up the additional point with debutant Per Mertesacker ranking next in the PPI for Arsenal. Ashley Williams was the visitors top scoring PPI performer, ranking seventh overall in this match.

Fulham vs Blackburn
Rochina 3, Murphy 2, Zamora 1

Rovers earned a hard-fought point and had their man atop the PPI rankings – Ruben Rochina was the recipient of the three bonus points courtesy of his opening goal in the Craven Cottage clash. Danny Murphy’s assist and overall influence in the middle of park saw him fetch the two, while Fulham’s goalscorer, Bobby Zamora, picked up the remaining single point. Blackburn’s Michel Salgado, Scott Dann and Mauro Formica all ranked next in the PPI scores.

Norwich vs West Brom
Odemwingie 3, Shorey 2, Foster 1

Peter Odemwingie returns in style with the winning goal and a maximum bonus-fetching performance at Carrow Road. Nicky Shorey’s willingness down the left-flank and his assist for the goal earns him recognition, with keeper Ben Foster also getting in on the act. Centre-backs Jonas Olsson and Gabriel Tamas just missed out on bonus themselves with impressive PPI returns, while Marc Tierney was Norwich’s top performer.

Bolton vs Man United
Rooney 3, Hernandez 2, Nani 1

No real surprises here, although Phil Jones is perhaps unlucky to miss out on bonus recognition given his fine performance and assist contribution. Wayne Rooney continues to harvest up bonus points, Javier Hernandez also gained the first of what could many supplementary points this season. Ivan Klasnic was, once again, Bolton’s highest ranked PPI scorer.

Everton vs Aston Villa
Petrov 3, Osman 2, Baines 1

Stiliyan Petrov’s fine curling effort helps earn him maximum bonus points for visitors Villa with Everton’s scorers, Leon Osman and Leighton Baines also picking up rewards. Gabriel Agbonlahor and Stephen Warnock was also ranked highly in this one, with Tim Cahill the home side’s next big PPI scorer.

Man City vs Wigan
Aguero 3, Kompany 2, Silva 1

Not surprisingly, City dominated the PPI scoring in this one with Aguero again recording an impressive PPI tally to fetch the maximum bonus. Vincent Kompany continues to represent the most likely source of bonus in the City back four – in contrast to last season – he earned the two bonus ahead of David Silva who picked up the scraps. Gary Caldwell was the highest rank PPI performer for the Latics behind almost the entire City lineup.

Stoke vs Liverpool
Begovic 3, Walters 2, Upson 1

Stoke’s stopper Asmir Begovic collects his second 3 point bonus haul of the season as Tony Pulis’ side kept another clean sheet at home to Liverpool. Jon Walters’ spot-kick winner helped him to the two, whille Matt Upson put up a resolute barrier alongside Ryan Shawcross and earned the remaining point. Stoke dominated the PPI rankings here with Jose Enrique Liverpool’s top PPI performer – ranking behind the entire starting eleven for the home side.

Sunderland vs Chelsea
Terry 3, Sturridge 2, Ramires 1

John Terry’s opener and his significant defensive presence throughout helped him earn the maximum from Chelsea’s away win. Daniel Sturridge needed just 63 minutes on the pitch to fetch his first two bonus points of the season, while Ramires got in on the act for the single point. The visitors dominated the rankings overall with Jack Colback rated as Sunderland’s best performer.

Wolves vs Tottenham
Defoe 3, Adebayor 2, Parker 1

Jermain Defoe’s return to the scoresheet also helped him gather the maximum bonus ahead of debutant and fellow goalscorer Emmanuel Adebayor. Scott Paker’s assist and performance in midfield steered him to pick up the remainder. Jamie O’Hara was the top PPI performer for the beaten hosts.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I was really suprised at the Man Utd - Bolton result. Bolton are decent opposition. Man Utd are looking REALLY strong this season.

Shame about Cleverly, was really enjoying seeing him and Welbeck doing so well.

Anyone notice the high level of quick one touch football round the Bolton box? Someone's been practicing for Barca methinks! šŸ˜€

Closely watching Walcott on Saturday I realised how crap he actually is....Cant cross, cant shoot, cant finish, no vision, no creativity, no flair. The only thing he's got for himself is speed.... I cant believe this guy is playing for a top 4 team let alone the English national team, I also cant believe he's in my team =(

yeah, however saying that was one of the worst displays I've seen from him, so I wouldn't judge him solely on that display.

He almost seemed frustated at not being a striker with his constant moaning, yellow card etc. He doesn't really fit in our system/ as a winger as he can't dribble nevertheless I would put him at LW so that he can cut in/ shoot as he's too predictable on the right.

Wengers fault, the guy has no tricks to beat a man merely pace, so when he comes up against someone with pace ala enrique he struggles. Also he isnt good with crosses, however he is a good striker, I'd have him on the last defender every time waiting for a wilshere ball over the top....one v one he finishes well.

I am very happy with my team (on paper), just hope it will start delivering for real soon:

    Richards, Bosingwa, Enrique
    Silva, Arteta, Young, Brunt
    Rooney, Suarez, Dzeko

What do you think is the weak link here? Dzeko with his rotation threat? Enrique since Liverpool seems to be sketchy at the back?

RVP was pretty average. Arsenal as a whole were poor.

Arteta did play the furthest forward of the midfield 3 and showed some nice touches/passes.

Don't partcicularly liek either of those combos at the moment tho....

Walcott is playing as a striker, so hes the furthers ahead of the midfield. Both him and RVP were unlucky to score. And Swans is looking like a good defensive unit. I think Blackburn will leaks at least a few.

I have 2.3 in the bank and i need to get shot of a few players but dont know where to prioritise .

    Given Kenny
    Simpson Cole MArtin Simpson Bardsely
    Nzogbia Taarabt Sinclair Moses Silva
    RVP Bent Holt

Martin - Is a dead weight and will not get any game time.
Nzog - on another drop and isn't playing well at all although he is at home to NEW next week.
Moses - not shown his preseason form but has decent fixtures in the next six.
RVP - Has the fixtures but is playing for an arsenal side who are struggling for form.

Replacements i'm looking at - Jarvis, Sessingon, Downing, Nasri, Ward, Hutton (4point hit), Kompany

I'd stick with Moses - he's been unlucky so far this season but will bag a few goals by CHristmas and IMO is a banker for 2 points a game and at 5.0 isn't bad.

He's also a player noone else in my league has so I'm keeping him.

RVP for 12 mil and not scoring is a concern I share but I am going to keep him for a couple of weeks - he's is more than capable of tapping in four goals in a game...

    Consistent Performers

This seams to me the most topsy turvy hard to predict start to a fantasy season in recent years.

Who are the emerging consistent performers "bankers" we can unanimously agree are bringing in the points every week and likely to continue to do so for weeks to come?

The stand out ones I think are Bosingwa, Silva & Rooney. Any more?

Can I have another wildcard? Oh no, wait a minute, just used it to get an awful score!

I captained RVP ahead of Rooney/Silva as I thought he was the best shout, simple as that. It turns out he wasn’t and I’ll take that on the chin, just one of those things. I have no problem with the Rooney captainers, it is the Dzeko ones I have an issue with. He was a huge risk to play this week, let alone captain. Bearing in mind that many would have Rooney as vice captain, I find it bloody annoying that they’ll get rewarded for ignoring the threat of rotation and making a bad judgement call, its a rubbish rule.

    Moan over, onto next week.

I agree with this one to some degree.

NFL fantasy allows you to change your team right up until kick-off, but your bench doesn't auto-sub if you get it wrong. I'm wondering if this would be a better system here.

(You can also change players between games so long as you don't move anyone from a team that's already played).

I like that more IIamaZA, there has to be a better system than this surely.

I'm not a fan of the changing players between games, but the captain choice should be made only once - No backup allowed.

If there was no back up, nobody with a brain would have captained Dzeko this week. Only the very brave or foolhardy. They would have moaned when he didn't paly the 90 sure, but maybe they'd learn to pay more attention then.

Changing players (who haven't played remember - so you can't sub on or off someone from a team that hadn't played i.e. Dzeko after the City game).

But it does allow you to get the teamsheets before a game to choose your team.

So on Saturday you read the teamsheet, you choose then - Dzeko yes or no (based on whether you think he'll do an Aguero in GW1). If you take him out, you can't put him back in after the game if he did play.

Nope, he had a great pre-season, getting lots of praise from AVB. He was suspended for the first three game weeks. Drogba crocked and Torres playing shit. AVB's not scared to drop the big boys and he needed to do something to shake things up, especially with Man U and Man C running riot.

It was teh right (and brave) thing to do.

      He had a killer pre-season.

Torres had made comments about how he was looking forward to playing with the pace of Sturridge and Mata.

I think Terry (or Torres again) was mentioning how well he played in practice.

He's 6.5 and was worth a punt if you had a decent bench to cover him.

      Hope that explains it.

Also I thought he'd start ahead of Anelka on the right (Mata and Malouda are on the left - Anelka right, Lukaka and Torres centre - at least that's how I saw it on Saturday morning)

I think you're better off going for a spread of players who play every game in Defense, even if they are for poor teams. Kelly (1 game this season, 71 mins), Wilkinson (2 games, 27 and 54 mins) and why load Newcastle defenders with the run they have coming? I say swap one front man down by 4/5 million and upgrade to a couple of Sunderland defenders and an Aston Villa defender, maybe keep the rest of the junk. Then you have a team...

some guys makin a point about suarez well i'm a red and apart from stevie g(and i include fowler, carra, torres)suarez is best in my lifetime but as a team we never put teams to the sword like the 3 mentioned.the excessive points that they'll get will make up for the smattering of defensive points.
