Before all the Rooney vice-captains come into play and we can concentrate on European endeavours for a couple of days we’ve got the Joey Barton of all match-ups.

The prickly character sees us open the Dugout Discussion as manager Neil Warnock hands him the armband against his old side Newcastle – not one to flounce under the radar, clearly. QPR are in fact rocking a whole host of new signings while Alan Pardew recalls Shola Ameobi in place of Peter Lovenkrands. Sides in full are…

QPR XI: Kenny; Young, Gabbidon, Ferdinand, Traore; Barton, Derry, Faurlin, Taarabt, Wright-Phillips; Bothroyd.

Newcastle XI: Krul; Simpson, S. Taylor, Coloccini, R. Taylor; Obertan, Tiote, Cabaye, Gutierrez; Best, Ameobi.

Let us close the gameweek together in the Dugout Discussion and watch the sparks fly.

Surely Newcastle defenders should get something? QPR were well on top but they held up. Coloccini is my pick out of that bunch.

Simpson was pretty decent too. Colo and Simpson will get a look in, Taarabt and SWP were good for them. Hard to say with the new system.

agree about simpson.. would'nt be surprised with 1 or 2 bps.. every attacker was wasteful so doubt there'll be many bps for attackers, and qpr defenders had nothin much to do..

basically it's all about shot efficiency (on target - off target) and defensive clearances. goals and bwing part of a winning team are weighted highly, assists, as highlighted but silva this weekend, not so much.

absolutely, he's in the dunne last-ditch mould of centre backs. there was an instance in the first half where he tried to dribble SWP, got tackled then fouled SWP to the floor in a dangerous position so it could easily have been a yellow but the ref gave no foul. serious escape considering he later got booked too

    I've got a team of:

    Given

    Shawcross Boswinga Enrique

    Young Walcott Silva Mata

    Suarez Dzeko Holt

Subs: Vorm, Moses, R. Taylor, Brown

0.2 in the bank, already used the wildcard. What players should I shift to make room for one or two of Rooney/Hernandez/Aguero?

My biased view is Simpson 1/2-he was top in the Metro game. Then Tarrabt/Collocini.

Somehow trying to fit Taylor in over Simpson. Looks worth it for the Bp potential.
    Basically down to this
Simpson and Berra or 4mil and Taylor. Dont like options at4mil or idea of doubling on Swansea defence

    Boo!

Haven't you got Krul aswell? If so, i wouldn't spend 4.5 on another Newcastle defender.

Nah im messing around with defence options. Nothing set yet.

Would only go with 1 New defender. Thinking Taylor for the Bap potential

Im looking at cheapish defence and big boys uptop and midfield

              Can i Survive with this?

              Ruddy Vorm
Kompany Warnock Bosingwa and 1 of

              A S Taylor & 4mil
              B Simpson Berra

              which one?

Yeah i reckon so. Similar to mine.

                Krul/Vorm
Kompany Bosingwa Ward Brown De Laet.

You'll be playing Kompnay and Bos pretty much everyweek so 1 of your other 3 cheap ones is bound to have a good game.

Also, i'd get the extra .5 and get Kenny for Ruddy. He rotates well with Vorm.
