      I have Begovic but if you have the cash then De Gea.

      Man Utd probably have the best defense in the league and De Gea is picking up a lot of save points because the other team strikers are just shooting from distance thinking that he is a bad GK and will make a mistake.

        If qpr had won i would of said Taabt wright phillips and barton

        However with 0 0 makes it much trickier , could be defenders , maybe newcastle ones Taylor perhaps , hard to know really . Hoping Taabt and simpson get some

      they play twice in one game week, so for the one game week you will get all the points they earned over the course of 2 games. I assume this would be best in head to head leagues

      Yep that's a luxurious position to be in.

      Gks: I just do not think two 4 mill cheepies are the way to go.

      Defs: Swap De Lite for a QPR def.

      Mids: Fegusson apart, I quite like your midfield. Would like to see Mata in there.

      Fwds: Dzeko missing out at the weekend places some uncertainty in our teams right now. Watch the Citeh line up in the CL to see who they are going to play upfront. Might be tempted to get Oddwingy now with the better fix for WBA.

    Is anyone else playing Texaco Champioship FF?! Man this game cracks me up. The minus scoring system means you're almost better off selecting defenders that won't play and lose points, then buying expensive goalscorers for your front 6. TEN goalkeepers are on minus points, the worst being -8 while the highest scoring GK Ankergren is on +8.

    What ive gone for here is a nice solid rotation for keepers.
    Ive selected defenders who i am sure will start. Bosingwa, arbeloa and nagatomo will surely get me some clean sheets i believe but do you guys recommend any other alternatives for the cheapies in my defence?.
    I really think nasri will score some points at least as well as witsel who i believe benfica will qualify along with man utd. Do you guys have any alternatives for my cheapies in midfield?

    So, NEW continue to offer the best source of cleenies. In fact, very cheap cleenies in the form of Simpson. Looks like he played well and may even keep his place in the side going on this BBC report:

    "Danny Simpson was one of Newcastle's best defenders, producing several teasing crosses combined with some good blocks and his manager Alan Pardew would have been satisfied with the clean sheet."

    Possible assist potential too. Nice 🙂

      He defended well but his crosses into the box were nothing more than hopefull/less floated balls. Ryan Taylor on the other hand didn't defend particularly well.

      Dunne needs bootin' preferably for a QPR/SWN defender.

      That's my sort of midfield. Just think AY will outscore Nani this season on the evidence so far. You've also got Mata to consider.

      Fwds: Like everyone else, you have a decision to make about Dzeko and City fwds. No Rooney 😯 !

        Yep, Hilario is now redundant so a new GK is high on my shopping list. Obvious choice is Given given his rotation with Ruddy. I'll probably WC around GW10/11 so looking to bring players in now with good fixtures for 5-6 weeks.

        Any better moves than Hilario -> Given?

      Arbeloa isn't in the starting 11. Cheapest you'll get is 6.5 for Carvalho. There isn't much points potential in your midfield either. Downgrade De Gea and spend it on some midrange mids.

    I feel relieved that SWP didn't score as I dropped him last minute for Walcott (based on advice here - d'oh!) but he looked awesome. Will be in my team after next week I think. Shame he wasted his career chasing money really, could have been great as a regular for any club - not sure why managers didn't play him more.

        Meh he took the money and went to Chelsea, sat in the reserves and picked up his paycheque. But he learned his lesson and took Man City's money when they became richer, this time earning a bigger paycheque. It's not a shame he chose money over a better footballing career, it's indicative of modern day footballers.

        He was/is an okay player. He flashes hot and cold and can be absolutely anonymous in games and other times he'll be on fire. But he was never consistent or strong enough to play regularly for a top team.

          There was a piece in the Guardian the other day: Manchester City's Wayne Bridge joins the non-playing footballers' club"... in fact it didn't mention anyone apart from Wayne Bridge, which seemed a bit harsh- although since he's getting 90k a week, isn't in the CL squad, and hasn't played for the first team since last December, he's a fairly extreme example of the breed.

          Back to SWP, did anyone watch the game? I've heard a lot about him "zipping around" but that's pretty standard- did he actually look any good?

            He looked fine. A poor man's Walcott I'd say. Much better than Barton for example.

            If they had better strikers he could have had some assists.

            Like Walcott I think you would need to get used to some frustration.

            Typical SWP, full of energy, pace and trickery.

            He was happy taking defenders on, got into some good positions to cross/score and was a constant threat on the counter.

            Scratch, I'd say he's much better than an okay player - he's world class in my opinion. If he'd had regular football at a top 10 club he would have been a great fantasy football player to own and now he's got a chance at QPR.

            The only thing is that there's plenty of creativity in that QPR side but no-one to tuck the chances away.

            I watched it and he had maybe half a dozen shots (even won some headers!), basically tormented them. On another day could have had a couple of assists and a goal easy, was in another class to most on the pitch. Looked same as ever when he played well really, had good pre-season too.

        Morning Jafs - What's your take on Sturridge?

        i'm very tempted once this gw is out of the way to put him in, but it will be at the expense of Djeko or Suarez.

        Selling Silva with our "get out of jail free WC" in gw 2 is costing me bigtime so I would want to get him back in and getting Sturridge in up front will free up needed funds.

          Hi Inze. Problem with Sturridge is rotation. You'd think Torres will start most games and then there is Drogba and Anelka to factor in.

          I'm staying away for now. Best monitor.

          Yeah, Silva looks the main player this season.

          What about Oddwingy for Dzeko?
