The Watchlist rankings, offering our top 10 player recommendations for the coming weeks, have today been updated to reflect recent form and forthcoming fixtures. You can soak them up now in the right-hand sidebar.

With both Manchester clubs still shredding through defences and budget back fours keeping sheets clean with regularity, we’re seeing template Fantasy squads created across the board. That trend might yet be disturbed by improved fixtures for the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool however, and their Fantasy assets remain key factors in our Watchlist rankings.

Newcastle’s fine defensive form is hard to ignore and is reflected in the Watchlist immediately; Tim Krul making a small climb to the top of our keeper rankings. Available for 4.6 in the Fantasy Premier League game, the Dutch stopper rotates well with the prosperous Michel Vorm for the next few Gameweeks, offering a strong solution between the sticks.

West Brom’s Ben Foster and Fulham’s Mark Schwarzer are another partnership that appears to gel nicely, they also boast strong fixtures over the next month. Wigan’s Ali Al-Habsi also remains a viable budget option, with City’s Joe Hart the obvious route should you wish to invest heavily in a keeper. Arsenal’s Wojciech Szczęsny is arguably the most sensible selection for those taking a gamble on the Arsenal back four over their spell of favourable fixtures.

City’s Vincent Kompany and Chelsea’s Jose Bosingwa remain our top selections amongst the defenders – fixtures fall in their favour and both seem to remain immune to the rotation going on around them. Newcastle’s back four is represented by Steven Taylor in our Watchlist, although Ryan Taylor arguably offers stronger short-term potential while Davide Santon remains troubled by injury. Danny Simpson is your cheap alternative, although he tends to offer little goal threat.

Fulham’s John Arne Riise and Liverpool’s Jose Enrique complete our Watchlist back five – both can be found in the mid-price bracket and have yet to deliver on their promise. Fixtures do fall more favourably for the pair however, and both possess attacking instincts from left-back which should see profits soon enough.

David Silva continues to look bomb-proof at the top of the midfielder rankings – seemingly untouchable within Roberto Mancini’s squad, the Spanish trickster has maintained returns and is just about to embark on a run of matches which should increase his output further.

Chelsea’s Juan Mata is perhaps Silva’s biggest pretender – like City, Andre Villa-Boas’ side have a favourable run of opponents to come and Mata, as the midfield creator, is lined up for some decent numbers. Right now, that earns him a higher ranking than Nani – our current preferred option in the Nani vs Ashley Young debate within the United ranks.

Shaun Wright-Phillips – the subject of today’s ICT Analysis article for Members – soars into our top five, with Newcastle’s Yohan Cabaye also well-fancied over the coming weeks, having so far been denied Fantasy returns, despite some impressive displays. We’ve more on him and Juan Mata, to come in future articles.

The Forward rankings remain largely untouched. It’s impossible to topple Wayne Rooney from top spot right now – despite a run of opponents that will surely test his form and United’s goal-getting talents.

Sergio Aguero is sticking close to the United man, with Arsenal’s Robin Van Persie in third with the fixture list offering him a platform that will surely see him begin to up his Fantasy returns. Luis Suarez holds in our top five, despite three consecutive blanks. We’re keeping the faith with Uruguayan ahead of a run of favourable Anfield clashes to come in the next six gameweeks.

Emmanuel Adebayor, Daniel Sturridge
and Leon Best are the big climbers and present worthy differentials going into the coming weeks. Adebayor has been a hugely popular transfer target of late and, of the three, has the proven pedigree. Daniel Sturridge, at just 6.5 in the FPL and with a strong schedule in front of him, is perhaps the most intriguing. We should see heightened interest in him if he can draw blood when Swansea visit the Bridge this weekend, although tonight’s start in the Carling Cup against Fulham will immediately put a question mark over his starting role for the weekend.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

        Begovic, he is at home and will make plenty of saves. Also he has potential to bring u double figures points. QPR are in form I see Given surely conceding. I might sell him, it seems Mc Cleish or not they are still conceding goals.

    Brain teaser of the day, improve me team vastly with two transfers (4pt hit, 0.0 in bank). Team link in user name. First prize receives a bag of nowt, and a virtual hi-five.

    Current ideas:

    a) Bent-->Aguero, Baines-->Bosingwa
    b) Bent-->Zamora, Dzecko-->Aguero
    c) Bent-->Roonpig, Baines-->Jose Enrique
    b) Bent-->Zamora, Yaya-->Silva/Nani
    e) Brilliant idea of your choosing.

    It should be noted that I'm only really interested in the next two game weeks. I am (90%) WC after GW7. Come on you GMT morning lot, I know you are a friendly lot.

    Okay, so last year in January I moved house and didn't have any Foxtel (pretty much the only way I keep up with EPL over here) and barely watched the whole second half of the season. Was Luis Suarez always this dangers without scoring at the back end of the season? Wondering if it is just the player he is, without a finishing product. Obviously looking at his stats for Ajax it doesn't seem that way (49 goals in 48 games in his last full season for them) But it has happened in almost all his games recently, has he just been unlucky?

      From what i remember, Suarez was dangerous AND banging them in towards then end of last season. Its the reason many were surprised he was priced less than Carroll this year. I'm going with unlucky.

    Start Baines or Sessegnon?(starting Baines atm only because of his price tag,even though I can't see him getting anything more than a point against Citeh).Team is:

    Ruddy,(Given),
    Bosingwa,Simpson,Lescott,Baines,(De Laet),
    Silva,Moses,Sinclair,(Sess,Surman),
    Suárez,Rooney,Dzeko.(1 free transfer,0.9 in bank)

    The plan is to save transfer and get Young in next week(Baines->Brown,Sess->Young).Sound good?

          Hodgson clearly stated that Brunt is WBA's first penalty taker last week. He only said that Dorrans was the designated taker on that matchday (when Brunt was benched). The twitter headline on here was wrong. Read the wording of this article and you'll see it goes Brunt - Dorrans - Odemwingige.

          http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/west-bromwich-albion-fc/2011/09/16/graham-dorrans-is-put-on-the-spot/

          At the start of the season Aguero was the flavor, then when Dzeko hit 4 he became popular and tons sold Aguero and tons got him, in, and when he missed a game now it's all Kun again.

          i.e. For the average FFS user it's clearly not about what "we have seen both can do", it's about how well the individual does relative to the other in the past GW.

    Considering an 8 point hit to do:

    Baines --> Gabbidon (I realise he is possibly injured)
    Moses --> Mata

    Is this madness?!

    Current team is:

    Given/Vorm

    Kompany Enrique Bosingwa Baines (Simpson)

    Moses Silva Arteta (Dyer) (Ferguson)

    Rooney Adebayor Suarez

    Thoughts?

            need to know as i'm conisiderin a hit..

            Kompany to N.taylor and Sessegnon to Mata.. leaves me with 1 million to do walcott to nani next week.. team this week will be
            Given (Vorm)
            Bosingwa Enrique Brown Simpsn (Taylor)
            Silva Mata(c) Walcott (MOses Dyer)
            Rooney Suarz Adebayor
            1.0 in bank for nani

            wont be able to afford the team(with nani in it) next week as he and mata will rise and sessegnon will fall.. also i get mata(C).. not too keen on suarez who is my next option

                Valencia is a winger and will take minutes from Nani at some point no matter how much you want to reassure yourself he's nailed on as you either have him or want to get him.

                  Also against Chelsea.

                  And a few other times he's played RB. Not sure he'll cement the position as a permanent spot, but he looks to be being groomed for it.

              I for one would not be getting rid of Kompany starts every game for arguably the best defence and has been getting the odd BP also, city heading into nice fixtures.

              I personally would downgrade Given to a 4.0 to free up those elusive funds as a Villa fan and Given owner I don't think he represents value at 5.0 sadly.

                Sadly I don't think that Given is gonna bring us the points this year too.

                BTW Man Utd back line:

                Valencia, Berbatov, Carrick, Evra

                And with all those injuries, thinking if Rio isn't back Valencia will play right back, or Carrick center and Jones on the right. Nani is safe for now and having in mind the CL group too. Maybe in the second part of the season he will be rested with Valencia. I am gonna have both Young and Nani after the City game.

    Morning all..

    currently got two free goes but not overly sure how to go.

    Given Kenny
    S Taylor Jose Boss (Warnock, Woodgate)
    Jarvis Young SWP Silva (Dyer)
    RVP Dzeko Ade

    I'm thinking next week i'll get Rooney in (not having him has been a massive error but i can get away with it this week), maybe this week i'll just lose Jarvis? for Cabaye maybe?

    The only thing that worries me is lack of Chelsea, i'd love somehow to get Mata in but that would involve bringing Dzeko down to Gabby also

        Neither. Mata hasn't really done much. Yes I see him buzzing around the pitch and all..but the final ball is always produced by Torres or Ramires. Maybe I'm wrong. But he hasnt impressed me enough to splurge 9.5 mill on him. I'd go Nani for 0.4 more.

        VDV, Is less of a threat now that Adebayor is on a hot streak. Hell probably play a wide role. RW. But will still be on set pieces.
