Swansea made history last week, as Scott Sinclair blasted from the spot a goal that marked the first scored in the Premier League outside of England. It’s also befitting that his conversion brought our first win in the Fantasy Flutter.

Each week we take a crisp ten sheet to our friends at Paddy Power as they whip up special markets, with prices aligned to Fantasy managers’ thinking. We may not be ready to retire to Tahiti quite yet off the back of Sinclair’s winnings, but, at the same time, we have our tails up going into this weekend’s offerings from our bookie buddies.

And tasty offerings they are, with Ryan Taylor and Yohan Cabaye priced up to continue Newcastle’s impressive start to the season against Blackburn, joined by Chelsea new boy Juan Mata at home to Swansea and the reborn Shaun Wright-Phillips at home to Villa. Read on to find out how the markets shape up this week…

Last gameweek saw perhaps one of the most ridiculous games of football the Premier League has seen to in quite some time. Arsenal scored five goals to Blackburn’s two, yet lost the game four-three. Credit is certainly due to Junior Hoilett and Yakubu, who turned in exceptional performances for Rovers, but the limelight was stolen by Arsenal’s shoddy defending. Are Blackburn then a side on the up? Or were they just in the right place at the right time?

Our first two bets rest squarely on the answer to this question, with Rovers at St James’ Park on Saturday. Newcastle’s Ryan Taylor has only netted once this year, with a curling right footed curler from outside the box in Tyne and Wear derby. Paddy are offering 12/1 to replicate that strike and score from a free-kick, and with Blackburn conceding three even when they win, it’s an easy £1 stake for us.

Next up is Yohan Cabeye – an unknown prospect for a good deal of Fantasy managers, the Frenchman has been unfortunate not to have registered more strongly on our Fantasy radars so far. Growing performances, highlighted in Sir Paulos’ recent Watchlist article, and a strong scoring record in France, suggest that Cabaye could be close to opening his account. Paddy have handed us some tempting odds for midfielder to score from outside the box and to score and have an assist, but Cabeye to notch anytime at 4/1 is a must for us with a £2 stake.

Shaun Wright-Phillips has spent the majority of the last two seasons gathering cobwebs on the Man City bench. In only two games he has not only blown those cobwebs away, but rekindled some of the quality he displayed in his first City, many moons ago. His pace and goal threat have been in evidence and clearly guaranteed starts at QPR have given his confidence a massive boost. Aston Villa’s ageing defence could struggle to keep up with his tireless energy and Paddy are offering 14/1 to score a goal and assist, which deserves £2. In fact, we’re so confident in Wright-Phillips this week, we’re going to place a further £3 on him to score anytime at 100/30.

We have come now full circle to our aforementioned history makers Swansea City, or at least Juan Mata’s potential in opposition. Although the Swans have only netted three this season, they have looked pretty tight at the back, battling to two nil-nil draws during their opening four game goal drought. However they have looked consistently weak when they’ve had to cross the misty Severn bridge and play on English soil. Juan Mata is set to take advantage of that, and with the likes of Daniel Sturridge and Fernando Torres hovering with intent, an assist for the Spaniard also seems a worth prospect. Paddy’s market ‘Juan Mata to score and assist’ at 11/2 seems worth a punt for our final couple of quid.

Superstars Money Back Special!

Paddy’s relentless quest to refund our money continues this week with a “Superstars Special”. If Rooney, Aguero, Ronaldo or Messi scores two or more goals in their games, Paddy Power will refund all losing 1st /last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on that match.

Bet £10 Get £20

If you’re new to this betting lark and new to Paddy Power then you can take up any of these odds and offers and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Judging from the substition history Mancini has been much more likely to give Dzeko 90 and sub Aguero. Aguero has'nt made 90 in the prem yet 32,67,74,70,81 vs Dzeko 90,79,90,0,90

Suarez has one of the best odds to score this week. It's even better than Aguero.

Their form and score might be different, but their potentials this week might be close.

I'm doubt if the return from 8-pts hit from (2) to (1) will be justified.

Dzeko might even have a full game but Aguero off early.. Just guess.

opinions please... I'm just feeling a bit scared by not having Aguero yet.
so, considering to use one free transfer to strengthen my chances.

    Krul (Vorm)
Bosingwa - Kompany - Simpson (Ward, De Laet)
    A.Young - Silva - Brunt - Moses (Dyer)
    Rooney - RVP - Adebayor

    0.9m in bank, should I ..

    1) RVP > Aguero .. Price will rise tonight, but I think RVP actually good to risk another week :s
    2) Brunt > Sessegnon/Larsson .. Doubt if I get more potential from this change :s

Get Sinclair, or even N.Dyer. There's zilch options at 7-8.0

Or, make cash and get Mata.

Both are on the bandwagon at the moment. If you go for Mata + Adebayor, then it must be mid to long term to make it worthwhile.

Javier Hernandez has scored three goals in the two appearances he has made against Stoke and netted in the 27th minute of both games.

He's the man up front. Whereas Rooney drifts.

    Silva Young Barton (Petrov, Dyer)
    Rooney Suarez (c) Dzeko

    Given or Ruddy?
    Barton or Petrov?

Or, bench Simpson and play Barton AND Petrov?

We never thought we’d see the day where Shaun Wright-Phillips come into our Fantasy thoughts again. However, the transfer to QPR has revitalised the little man, and with a free role in Neil Warnocks’s new-look side, his two appearances so far have been reminiscent of his early days at Man City.

Damn this does not motivate me to transfer SWP! Is it me or it sounds negative kinda like a sad story, btw it made me laugh.

Team for this week, no transfers have been made...

    Ruddy
    Bosingwa, Enrique, Kompany, Rangel
    Silva, Taarabt, Hoolahan
    Van Persie (c), Rooney, Dzeko

    Given, Brown, Sinclair, Barkley.

    Thoughts?

Not really, I like having the security of quite an expensive defence and spending the cash up front seems like the way to go at the minute. I think Hoolahan and Taarabt will come good sooner or later, Barkley is a pain but will just have to make do with him on the bench for me every week for the moment.

In that case, would you consider to start Brown instead of Rangel ?

Rangel might have a good attacking threat but he's playing Chelsea.

Brown vs Norwich might have more potential to end scoreless..

    The eternal dilemma...of the week:

Suarez hasn't scored for a couple of games and is at home against Wolves.

Aguero has been on fire (fire), but has a CL game midweek.

Do the football gods think Suarez is due a goal, so the armband should be his or do they say go with the form in Aguero?

    Answer me!

liverpool look shaky at the moment and lack of skrtel/adam may affect them, and wolves are so unpredictable at the moment that i'd have to go with aguero. form and fixtures, he should get at least 60

Hmm, but Suarez is definitely due a goal whereas Aguero has been a little greedy. Also, Liverpool have lost their last two, so surely the tide will turn?

i fancy wolves to grab a point tomorrow, im not convinced by liverpool at all at the moment (didnt see the midweek game but read bellamy and suarez linked really well though?) so that might be a plus... i still think i would go with aguero no doubt if i owned him

Aguero was benched for the midweek cup game. He may only get 60-70 odd minutes. but, that's more than enough time to tear a hole out of Everton.

Suarez at Anfield is an enticing prospect. You'd be a brave soul not to give the armband to Aguero.

It's the classic form or fixture question.

brought torres in for bent this week as i plan to wildcard after gw7 and, well, i just love having him in my team. going to watch the city game tomorrow and not sure whether i want to captain silva or dzeko in fear of it taking away some of the enjoyment of the game, but it could just make it even better if they do well. options are rooney, torres, dzeko, which of those three would people lean toward? i fancy dzeko to play at least 70

true just a nice international break, ill decide at the time though- i have no problem keeping torres for a few fixtures then shifting him for suarez or someone similar if he flops again. any thoughts on the original question?

    Anyone up ?

Most likely wildcarding after the deadline. A, B or C ?

    A) One week punt on Kenny, Given out

    B) One week punt on Barton, Brunt(FUL) out

    C) Save the transfer and see if Brunt, Moses, Walcott and Senderos find their form. Think this is quite unlikely ? But if they do find their form two freebies (and a hit) is probably enough to sort my team out. I have a decent team for this week so I think it's not any sort of a disaster to wild card with two freebies.
