Today’s early kick-off sees Man City looking to get back to winning ways after throwing away a two-goal lead at Craven Cottage last week.

As Everton roll up to the Etihad Stadium looking to extend their five game unbeaten run, the lineups are out and it’s good news for owners of Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko- both were rested in the midweek Carling Cup clash with Birmingham and return to the starting XI as City look to for the three points that will take them back to the top of the table before Man United take on Stoke this evening.

The sides in full are:

Man City XI: Hart, Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy, Y Toure, Barry, Silva, Nasri, Aguero, Dzeko

Everton XI: Howard, Hibbert, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Coleman, Fellaini, Rodwell, Neville, Osman, Cahill

    Think I'll do Walcott > Nani now, as Nani could get a price rise. Was going to do RVP > Rooney, but this rest might slow down Rooney rising, and RVP might catch a rise. Can but hope.

        Tough call. Will sleep on it. I was going to rotate RVP and Rooney over the next few weeks. Still think I will. Rooney v Norwich should score more than RVP at Spurs!

      He only has Suarez ahead of him in Metro, but he didn't score, or keep a clean sheet, so he only has incidental and win points in his favour.
      Might sneak 1 I suppose, but unlikely.

    Wow, thought I'd had a pretty average week until I saw that Adebayor, Silva, Enrique and Bosingwa all assisted a goal 🙂 48 points with Rooney to play, although that'll be Gabbidon if Rooney doesn't get any game time this evening.

    With Frank Lampard on the bench Ramires was given plenty of license to move forward.

    This average position map shows that only Torres/Drogba and Malouda were further forward; he was as high up the pitch as Mata. If Lampard really is on the wane, well then... an attacking Brazilian at Chelsea for 7.0(ish)?

      Torres suspension presumably means Drogba in back in favour. Ergo, different game. May still favour Ramires, but Lampard/Drogba (and Malouda) has significant history.

        Apart from Taarabt and Wright-Phillips, of course.

        Lampard will get back on the pitch anyway, but it's a nice sign to note that it may be he who is the one urged forward. He's got an unflinching engine, that's for sure.
