With Rooney out, is it wise to captain Young? Or would it be better to get Young out for Nani and captain Nani? I also want to get Dzeko out of my squad, so would it be wiser to get Dzeko out before Young? Thoughts???

        Already got Adebayor.

So with one free trade, it's basically Young to Nani or Dzeko to Agbonlahor.

Or, I could take an 8 point hit to do Young, Dzeko and Ward out for Nani, Suarez and Gabbidon (I know he's injured, but he's going to be a bench fodder).

Maybe you shouldn't do anything, with man city having an easy game vs Blackburn coming up, aguero might not even be playing and dzeko will be playing with someone else and maybe scoring a few.
Plus I don't rate Suarez against the everton back 4, don't see him getting much from it and ur better to keep a man city player as they are more likely to get more points against Blackburn.
In my opinion keep ur transfer for next week, if you change nani to young and suddenly young scores 3 against a weak Norwich ur gonna be kicking yourself. And young should provide something out of that game anyway!!

Are you sure out-of-form Dzeko is going to start ahead of impatient Tevez and Balotelli? He's not even getting the chances, let alone blowing them. If Mancini is going easy on Blackburn, he'll surely pair one regular with one newbie - Aguero/Dzeko with Tevez/Balotelli. And I seriously doubt Dzeko will be the regular picked.

I agree Utd - Norwich could be murder, and since there's uncertainty about striker choice and form, I'd definitely get as much Utd midfield cover as you can. Nani and Young may not be a bad idea for this match.

    Vorm, Krul
Baines, Enrique, Kompany, De Laet, S Taylor
    Moses, Silva, Cabaye, Brunt, Jarvis
    Rooney, Dzeko, Suarez

Plan on playing WC next week.
Really want P. Jones in there for this next week, probably for Enrique.

For the other, do I go Dzeko-->Adebayor and catch the rise, or get a 5.6 middy for Brunt (Bannan or Dyer) and have faith in Dzeko?

We all understand & indeed share your concerns about the wild price changes. It forces us to make transfers earlier than we would have wanted to. Then sitting back & hoping for injury an injury/suspension free team.

I'd rather stomach a few points hits than use the wilcard. We're not even a quarter of the way through the season.

We get two though, another one in the New Year, don't we? I'm 90% certain I'll WC in GW7->8 international break. Trade every single day and try to make enough profit to supercharge my season. Also means this particular week I can pick without considering long-term fixtures.

It was a good performance, all that bunch need to do is string several together so confidence drip feeds back into them. Achieving 4th place this season will be immensely difficult.

same here, awful captain choices first week i have a had a captain do something RVP. Torres, Bent all let me down...im 100 points off top of my mini league. Marathon not a sprint and all the guys in the league are shitting because i did the same last year lol...started slow then steam rollered them at the end.

As for us i don't know, i just don't, the club on the inside looks like a mess. Our signings were pants compared to what we lost. It would be funny if we somehow ended up winning something this season.

I need to ditch brunt and decide what to do with rooney..

Ah well yeah. That extra 1.1 is useful and could be seen as getting an equal player in form.

Ade has similar potential to suarez imo but at a better price. If you can use the cash better elsewhere go for it.
I'm shifting suarez to aguero this week, will give me rvp, aguero and adebayor. Gw's 9,10 & 11 are a worry though suarez should score big there. Might end up getting him back in.

Impressive forward line but it sounds like you're shifting him out partly because of the next two fixtures but want him back for the next three. Not sure that's so great because I think he does the business against top opposition too (he tore Arsenal apart, OK, you can joke about the defence, but other people who did so include Rooney, Nani, Young...) and Aguero might not even start against Blackburn because surely he'll play Bayern midweek. At the very least wait and see about that transfer.

Yeah all good points and I have considered them. Suarez is my favourite player atm too but I definitely want to bring in aguero. I reckon he'll be top scorer this season and is only getting more expensive. Other option is swap rvp for aguero which was the plan before this week but he's really hitting form now.

Mmmmm Aguero's unstoppable price rises are bugging me. I think this will be my last GW without Aguero, if my guess is correct then he may be rested against Blackburn, fall in price during the international break at which point I'll snap him up. Probably want to keep RVP for now. Guaranteed starter and the team's goals surely will go through him.

      1. Hmm well then it looks like Ade/RVP are both worth chasing. Probably Ade since he's miles cheaper, got better supply and on a roll. It's hard for me to pick mids for the game because Arsenal don't have an obvious hub (unconvinced by Arteta) and Spurs have so many options!

      2. I was leaning towards Drogba and Agbonlahor, probably the Drogba. Only put off by Chelsea playing away at Bolton, but Bolton do have an awful defence. Which is more important?

Ramires is starting to look like a nice option. Is playing further forward than he did last year and he gets up and down the pitch a lot which means that he'll inevitably get into some nice positions. Should have scored that cut across goal vs United and got two at the weekend. Wouldn't be surprised to see him get 10-15 goals this season.

I can't see him missing many minutes for Chelsea and is a nice cheap way into their attacking returns. Definately on my watchlist.

Avoid Mereiles though, he seems to be playing the holding role from what I've seen.

I'm certainly getting sold on ramires. Last game he had 6 shots, 3 the game before that. Seems he's getting into scoring positions more often. Seems a worthwhile punt for a few weeks at least with nice fixtures. Cheers lads.

            Interesting quote I just found:

Chelsea midfielder Ramires credits his sparkling start to the season to new manager Andre Villas-Boas.

The Brazil international has been impressive for Chelsea in the opening games of the new season.

"This season everything has started great for me, so the arrival of Villas-Boas has really helped," smiled Ramires.

"He was the coach of Porto and knew me from the times at Benfica. He has made me comfortable on the field and urged me to take advantage of my pace and movement."

He is certainly a clever little player and seems to have settled into the PL this year with Boas. Really think I might go Young to Ramires next week.

Not a bad plan. Mata should outscore Ramires for the season but I'd say Ramires is decent Chelsea coverage and it's good if it allows you to go for Nani over a mid priced option.

I personally have a midfield atm of Silva Young Nani Petrov Dyer. Got Nani in this week for Brunt by downgrading Dzeko to Crouch. Could have done straight Young to Nani but wanted both for United coverage this week.

I may well do Young to Ramires or Mata next week, I'm not sure yet. May well want to release some funds to try and get Aguero or RVP, maybe even Torres in a few weeks. I've lost all faith in my decisions so far this season. Even more so now I don't have Rooney(c) to rely on.

It could be a lot worse mate, just check my ranking 🙁 Never struggled so much in 4 seasons of this game.
Mata looks a great option, should get heaps of assists if the strikers can put em away for him.

I'd be in that general area without my Rooney captain for sure. This week looks like it's going to end up scraping 40 in his absence. He's the only thing that's kept me where I am, I think I've only had two or 3 other players put in a decent show in 6 weeks. I'm just looking at the majority of the rest of my team in anguish, nothing seems to be going for me bar Rooney.

Ye it's going to be a difficult decision between Ramires and the cash or Mata in for Young next week. Think those two are the best bet for their coverage for the meantime.

I've gone for a hit this week, not a big fan but once in a while they can be useful. Wanted to have two United players other than Rooney incase he doesn't make it. I'll try not to take another one for the next few weeks now.

2 free transfers and a wildcard - any ideas for this week?

    Given, Ruddy
    Bosingwa, Dunne, Brown, Simpson, Senderos
    Nani, Silva, Sessegnon, Sinclair, Moses
    RVP, Suarez, Dzeko

    Bank 0.0m

    Thinking either
    a) Dunne & Dzeko -> Drogba/Hernandez & N Taylor or
    b) Dzeko -> Adebayor

Taking a 4 pt hit this week to ship out Rooney and N'Zogbia, which is the better option:

Haven't got the chance to read through, but is Ramsey getting the extra assist points? It has been allocated to Sagna now so I guess they cbf changing it to Ramsey?

To Chelsea fans, is Drogba nailed on to start the next 3 games now? Or will AVB will still opt for Anelka?
