Manchester City have tonight released a statement on their official website announcing the suspension of Carlos Tevez with immediate effect.

The ban is thought to last a fortnight and reads in full:

Manchester City can confirm that striker Carlos Tevez has been suspended until further notice for a maximum period of two weeks.

The player’s suspension is pending a full review into his alleged conduct during Tuesday evening’s 2-0 defeat to Bayern Munich.

The player will not be considered for selection or take part in training whilst the review is under way.

Clearly, the club’s owners are lending their full support behind Roberto Mancini after last night’s debacle in the Allianz Arena, where Tevez refused to participate in the game as a second half substitute.

As we reported last night, a visibly shaken and emotional Mancini emerged after the 2-0 defeat and upon speaking to reporters made his feeling crystal clear:

“If I have my way he will be out of the club. He’s finished with me…

For me it’s a bad situation. In a game like this it’s important for a player to help the team. This is impossible.”

Tonight’s statement certainly confirms Tevez will take no part in the weekend match at Blackburn but with a two week international break to follow, the club will likely have the matter resolved before the players return to domestic matters ahead of the home match with Aston Villa in gameweek eight.

The Fantasy prospects of Mario Balotelli will be boosted by the news- the Italian is likely to start at Ewood Park after Edin Dzeko’s strop and if the club subsequently stand by Mancini’s decision to do without the services of Tevez in the long-term, Balotelli -and, ironically Dzeko- look likely to earn more starts than previously anticipated, alongside Mancini’s star forward Sergio Aguero.

Warnock said he is unlikely to play until after the International break.

So, he'll be out for GW7 and back for GW8.

Bench R Taylor or O'Hara to put Rooney on? If he doesn't play then they just come back on. R Taylor may not even play, so it would go to next sub.. So leave him on with O'Hara on the bench is what I'm leaning towards? Also have Senderos as my 2nd bench warmer.. so if it skips past him I could have my 3rd choice on! Oh joy of uncertain starters paired with crap like O'Hara

Does anyone know what England's policy on 'injured' players is? As in, do they request their own medical team to take a look at unavailable players? Reason i ask obviusly is that i can see Fergie not playing Rooney vs. Norwich on the basis that he then wouldnt have to join up with England...but that's obviously only going to work if Fabio doesnt call him up anyway to 'check' his fitness (and find out he might be fit) - in that instance he might as well play on Sat.......?!

If Man U/Fergie say he is unable to play, he won't.

What happens if a player is deemed to be injured?

If a player is deemed to be injured in most cases the club for which that player plays will inform the Football Association that the player is injured.

Will the Football Association medical staff wish to gain a second opinion?

In certain situations the Football Association medical staff can demand that the player reports for training to that they can assess the player themselves. Often this will only happen if the international team is involved in an international tournament or has an important qualifier. For international friendly matches it is extremely unlikely that this will happen as the Football Association will wish to keep some balance between the England team and the clubs.

For those picking Drogba...last night's game will have cast doubt over his role in the team in the next little while surely. AVB obviously selects players according to match situations but if Drogba was to lead the line for the next few games surely he would have used him last night (even just to get back into the swing of things)? Drogba would have been a totally different animal to tame for Valencia too...which makes me wonder even more. I got a sneaky suspicion that Anelka will be selected ahead of him at least this weekend. With no Carling Cup game time and very little against Swansea (and no Champs League) I can see a delayed return for him...anyways...just thought I'd put that out there...Drogba looks enticing but the coach clearly follows another set of rules and thinking...good luck!

I think Sturridge will play but I have to say I don't like him on the right like that...he's a little slow with his passing and is something we're trying to get out of this season (slow passing). I think it will be a Mata, Anelka, Sturridge front 3...I haven't read anything on his fitness though so that could be a spanner...So if fit I think will start..

Burnt!? I know...more like 3rd degree burns...I've been in flames since the season started...

Perhaps not serious enough to consider but I just thought about the fact that Sturridge had played at Bolton last season....his inside knowledge should also push him ahead of anyone else surely...and it's at the Reebock...again, it's down to his fitness which I have no clue over...(yet)

As much as I love Lampard I really do think Mata should play in his position on the field...even closer to the striker...I don't mind him on the left but I think he can do more damage in the middle...

I must add though...at his price he really does need to shine brighter or else he won't be good value...so here's hoping he gets it together Fantasy-wise for all of our sakes..

I know and that's my point...would you not have given Drogba some minutes last night...with his ability he could have done something too..or at least distract defenders to allow others in. I guess I'm just saying that Drogba does seem the obvious choice but without match fitness I wonder if he'll start the next game...I don't doubt that he's the best choice...just maybe not this gameweek...and I don't want anyone hating him because of that (lack of fitness, game time, etc)...AVB clearly rates Anelka up top too...

Going away for the weekend tomorrow and I have no plans to check my FF team until I'm back on Monday (strange feeling in stomach).

Armband is on RVP at the moment, alternatives are Silva and Suarez. Suarez away at Everton would be a bold choice and Silva just played a tough 90 away in Munich whereas RVP was rested. No brainer?

Not planning on taking Sess out, want Petrov but there's no point doing that move this week. Also gonna hold onto Taraabt....

Mata is the only Chelsea player I'd consider transferring in/captaining and I have him. I'm not sure it's as good a game as it looks on paper and Mata is hardly certain to get more than 2 points.

Alot of people will say Aguero because they hate Suarez.
Both are as good as each other, people will base Suarez on his Liverpool performances and Aguero on his Man City perfomances which is unfair.
If Suarez played for Man City with the service Aguero gets he would be up there.
Especially when you look at his last full season at Ajax (49 goals in 48 games)
          Both outstanding young players!

Glad to know my work doesn't go unappreciated.

I can round that out with a triple of last in UCL CAR too.

That's pretty much how I had it, Jafa. I suppose that suggests I think Everton are a better attacking prospect than Arsenal in their respective derbies. That would fit with who has the home fixture. Actually I reckon both will be tight games with less attacking prospects. But I'm playing both Baines and Suarez for some Merseyside action.

Yes, I see goals in the Merseyside derby so Enrique isn't that attractive.

Taraabt has the advantage of set plays, goal attempts and the easiest fixture. In theory anyway.

I see goals in the N London derby too so Ramsay might feature particulalry as he's seeing a lot of ball in midfield.

Rooney's ownership was 52 percent last week. Now its 45. Almost 7 percent of ppl have dropped him already. How come his price has not dropped yet. Wierd... Can someone explain

Prices drop on overall percentage drop.
Alot of ownership = alot more transfers to drop.
Eg Ruiz is the other way, had very low ownership and has dropped 0.5 in 2 weeks

Plus Rooney had a high NTI (net transfers in) before people started to dump him, therefore his first price drop requires more transfers out than subsequent ones.

If he's going to drop it'll be tomorrow night at the earliest. I can't see him dropping tonight.

But I'll be no doubt bringing in Aguero so trying to wait it out as long as possible before Aguero rises... again, probably tomorrow night.

It requires a 10% deficit to drop in price.

10% of 50% is 5% so you might expect him to drop. However, as others have pointed out, he had a positive net transfers in (was close to rising to 12.6) before he withdrew from the Stoke game.

Struggling to decide this one...any words of wisdom appreciated.

    Dzeko ->

    a) Adebayor
    b) Agbonlahor

The way I see it is both are on form, a) is the better player in the better team, but b) is cheaper, has better short term fixtures (important as i'll be wildcarding soon) and it also means Sess -> Walcott is possible next week for Arsenal's good 3/4 fixtures. Rest of squad is linked. Thanks!

Cause there's a decent chance that he won't play. If he does it probably won't be the full 90. And he's not in great form regardless. Plus there are lots of more promising striker options.

Dunne & Sess are in line for the boot next week with my 2 frees -> Woodgate and Walcott if I do the Agbonlahor trade this week. If I do Adebayor this week then I only have 12m for a def/mid combo - any ideas?

Yeah Adebarndoor over Agbonlahor easily. If you have trouble thinking about it, just look at the teams they're on. Aston Villa are terrible, meanwhile Spurs have won 3 on the trot and are looking very good!

I agree, Adebayor is the better prospect, but Agbon has 3 great home fixtures in the next 5 and frees up enough funds to do Sess -> Walcott next week. If I get Adebayor this week then I only have up to 8m for Sess' replacement, and there is a dearth of value in the 6.5-9m range.

    Kompany, Bosingwa, Dunne, Enrique, (Simpson)
    Silva, Murphy, Petrov, (Moses), (Titoe)

Hmmm, even with a)'s run of fixtures?

          If b), Ramires or Ramsey?

I'd much rather have Adabayor than Agbonglahor, no matter the fixture. And Walcott is still injured right?

Both Ramires and Ramsay have done well in the last game week, but will not be consistant. I think that one's a 50/50.

Fair point. So, which mid would you get next week for 8m or less? Any better than Ramires/Ramsey? O'Hara?

They're getting to be tougher questions Jinswick, is there a prize?
I really don't know, I suppose it depends on your other cover.

Haha, the prize is looking knowledgable amongst us all...;) My current squad is below:

              Given, Ruddy
              Bosingwa, Dunne, Simpson, Brown, Senderos
              Nani, Silva, Sessegnon, Sinclair, Moses
              RVP, Suarez, Dzeko
              Bank 0.0m

Ramires imo for some Chelsea attacking cover? Although Ramsey gives you .8 to upgrad elsewhere if that works, haven't looked into all the various possibilities. 🙂

            M. His fixtures certainly lighten up soon, and he is looking more like his old self. The trouble with a long bad run like Bolton no matter how much you know they're tough games it seems to shake overall confidence. Any way to get them both now I've cut short the sport psychology.

Is Nasri --> Mata a wise transfer in the long run? Is it worth a 4 pt hit given that I will be unable to afford him by next week?

Also why has Kompany gone out of favour with the FPL community? I was going to squeeze him into my team but I see there a few people trying to get rid of him, he seems a solid acquisition for 6.0 to keep for the year.

kompany doesnt seem to get much BPS and isnt an attacking threat so city need to keep 19 clean sheets this season for him to average 4pts per game. not bad but not exactly a must-have

What's your Man U coverage looking like this week?
Worth a points hit to get Nani? I;m seriously considering going with 0 cover.....

Good analysis there Yesot. In regards to the Mata transfer. IMO - but subject to debate - I still do not see Mata as a huge prospect. I'f you're wanting to shift out Nasri the obvious choices are Nani or Silva.

"Doesn't seem to get much BPS"

He has 3 already in 6 games which may not seem much but he'll have 19 for the season if they keep coming in this way. That's pretty good for a defender, Baines got 20 last season.

ahh ok my mistake, have to say i hadnt looked into it that much n just going by the fact silva dzeko n aguero have hogged them from what ive seen

i suppose going by those calculations hed end up with 171 pts this season which is only 8 less than baines last year

hmmmm i may have to look at getting him in

He even got 1 BP in 5-1 tot game where Aguero didn't get any even though he scored a goal. I think it's only a matter of time when he ramps himself up the defenders chart.

Saying this, I want him back soon 🙁 (overspent in attack)
