FIFA may wade into the Carlos Tevez matter on the back of Man Cityโ€™s suspension. Frank Lampard is hungry for more starts, Harry Redknapp rings the changes with Arsenal in mind, Stuart Holden suffers a serious setback on his road to recovery from a knee injury and Steve Bruce looks to shake up his Sunderland side after another woeful Black Cats performance. Here are this morningโ€™s Scribbles, folks:

After Man Cityโ€™s decision to suspend Carlos Tevez for a fortnight, FIFA vice-president Jim Boyce has added fuel the debate. Describing the Argentineโ€™s actions as โ€despicableโ€ he went on to hint that Tevez could be banned by FIFA over his refusal to take to the field at Bayern on Tuesday:

I believe FIFA should have the power to ban the player from taking an active part in football. If he has done what has been said, then I think his club would be better off without him.

If Manchester City prove it, write to FIFA and state the exact circumstances that happened, I would have no problem with that whatsoever.

William Gallas has suffered a setback in his return from a calf injury. The Spurs centre half has yet to play any part in their league campaign so far but, after taking part in a reserve game last week, had looked on course to play a part in tonightโ€™s Europa League clash with Shamrock Rovers. He has now injured the other calf and stands little to no chance of facing former club Arsenal this Sunday.

Still on the subject of Spurs, Harry Redknapp will make up to ten changes for tonightโ€™s match with that weekend North London derby in mind.

I didnโ€™t play any of the lads in the last game and it worked for us against Liverpool. Players like Gareth Bale and Emmanuel Adebayor will not play. I canโ€™t afford to miss them for the weekend.

Weโ€™ve got a squad so letโ€™s use it. This is their chance to prove to me why they should be in the first team.

Andre Villas-Boasโ€™ decision to rotate Frank Lampard worked well last night. The midfield, starting just his second game in the last five, grabbed the Blues opener in Valencia before an act of folly from Salomon Kalou gave the Spanish side a penalty and denied Chelsea all three points. Lampard has insisted that if Villas-Boas is to get the best out of him, he needs to play him more often:

I’m a player who likes to play regularly because I think it helps me get my momentum and stay fit and get confident. Hopefully, now, I can get a run of games. Itโ€™s up to the manager.

Martin Jol has left Bobby Zamora and Moussa Dembele behind as Fulham travelled to Denmark for tonightโ€™s Europa League game with Odense. Dembele is sick while Zamora is recovering from his own illness and Jol reckons itโ€™s more important to get the forward back to full fitness ahead of the game against QPR, with the Cottagers the only team yet to win a Premier League game this season.

Glen Johnson and Daniel Agger are Liverpoolโ€™s only injury worries ahead of the Merseyside derby with Everton. Johnson is still struggling with a hamstring problem, meaning Martin Kelly is likely to stay at right-back, while Aggerโ€™s rib injury should allow Martin Skrtel to continue alongside Jamie Carragher at centre half.

Bolton were yesterday dealt the devastating news that Stuart Holden will be sidelined for the next six months. Having been out since March with a knee injury, the midfielder had built up his fitness and returned to first-team action last week, completing ninety minutes against Aston Villa in the Carling Cup. A routine procedure revealed cartilage damage, however, and the player couldnโ€™t mask his feelings on twitter yesterday:

“Floored, devastated, gutted, just a few words I can think of. I will continue to fight and I’m ready for another tough journey…..”

Steve Bruce is set to ring the changes ahead of this weekendโ€™s home game with West Brom. The Sunderland manager reckoned โ€œsix or sevenโ€ players were well below-par in the 2-1 defeat at Norwich on Monday night and, as he looks to get back to the form that saw the Black Cats hammer Stoke 4-0 just two weeks ago, the likes of Stephane Sessegnon and Ahmed Elmohamady have been mooted as favourites for the axe. Titus Brambleโ€™s off-field indiscretions should hand Michael Turner a start at centre half alongside Wes Brown.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I haven't enjoyed any BF as much as BF1942... that was the ultimate FPS, I enjoyed that even more than when I was addicted to counterstrike in the late 90s / early 00s. People say WWII has been done to death, but I know I'd bloody love another WWII based BF using todays tech.

From my experience of the last game yo generally get less nobheads online on BF. Black Ops was pretty poor game overall though, I'm expecting MW3 to be a return to form.
So many good games all out at once:
            Skyrim
            Bf3
            Mw3
            Rage (looks incredible)
            Fifa12

Wish the buggers would space 'em out a bit.

The other people online don't really bother me so much on COD. I enjoyed BO but missed out on MW2 which I am told was much better in terms of gameplay. Will have to weigh it up - I start my new job next week so doubt there will be too much time for games in the near future!

The one that really frustrates me is FIFA, great game but the combination of absolutely terrible menus/people dropping out midgame makes it incredibly frustrating to play online.

    People with Nasri.

Silva is clearly the better option, but is it too much of a sideways move to be worth a transfer?

Is having either unnecessary if you've got Aguero? Maybe better to have another big mid like Mata/VDV for when City don't score 3?

Maybe, for now though my rivals mostly have him. If I thought hands down he was the best option I would suck it up and get him, pretty happy to spedn the extra money up front though to be honest, which also gives me a bit more hope of catching up.

Nasri & Silva and Young & Nani same thing. I'd pick one horse and stick on it, both players are capable of big scores so you'll be hopping from one to the other every time one scores big. Imagine you got rid of Young and he has another 20 pointer, or Nani gets dropped for Valencia?

Nani and Young I would agree, not much to choose. Nasri and Silva seems like a bit more of a gulf though. Nasri will get the occasional good score, but Silva looks like he will always get 5+, as well as the occasional big score thrown in.

Such an annoying transfer to have to make though.

Silva all round I think ๐Ÿ™‚
Equally as likely for a big haul and a better average weekly score. So in answer to the first question - if you have a free transfer and nothing more pressing then yes get Silva.

I went for Nasri when they were both around 9.5 and Nasri looked unreal on his debut at Spurs.
This eek i had two freebies and have taken my medicine and switched Nasri for Silva (before he went up to 10m :), he looks unplayable at times, and i actually think he's unlucky not to have quite a few more points than he has already.

Yeah I was very close just before he went up. Did Walcott - Nani instead and glad I did now. With Rooney doubts there are far more pressing matters this week.

I agree Silva has been unlucky not to have scored even higher, he has been ridiculous.

An embarrassing display indeed...had to happen eventually. as long as they dont' return to previous form - ie long ball to leon- ommpaloompah- knight. Hope they are on better form for the west ham game - my first visit to the Amex.

Pah, Titus Bramble, he's just small fry. As another controversial football personality proved this week, you may as well go for it big style. How about getting convicted for carrying 13.6 pounds of heroin strapped in packets all over your body?

Look he clearly has a problem and isnt going to play - Norwich at home is a gimmee with or without Roon. Play him and he will be expected to front up for England - not play him and you give the fella a well earned 3 week break and a chance for a FULL recovery before L'pool and Citeh et al where he may very well be need. The real question is do you bench him or drop him for 1 match in favour of potential points from the likes of ....................... whoever!!!!

Maybe they did, maybe they didnt - but Norwich are not Basle - I maintain Norwich at home ESPECIALLY after the indifferent display against the Swiss is a home banker and are United really SO dependent on one player that leaving him out for one game is so out of the question?

    Given, Krul
Bosingwa, Williams, Shawcross, Dunne, R Taylor
    Arteta, Murphy, Sinclair, Ramsey, Moses
    Rooney, Van P, Adebayor

    Swap for

Main reason for WC is to bring in Silva and Aguero.

Adebayor come in for Dzeko for the penalty this week, which means I have no City players now.

Could do with a big week from Mr Nasri. Definitely realised the error of my ways when I picked him over Silva, but got too much work to do fixing my defence to make the switch without taking a -4 hit, and Im not sure he's worth that. Get yourself up to 9.7 Samir, and I'll take the profit and run.

Also, who to play between Petrov and Dyer this week? I'm leaning towards Dyer, it stung me last time I left him on the bench for a Swans home game.

Nothing particularly interesting, I just find it amusing how he always has to give his opinion* on matters like these. If Roy Keane was still a manager then you can bet your life that he'd have also given an interview all about it too.

has anyone considered puting baliotelli in.... i mean, for me, its only a two gw gamble, as i will almost certainly replace him with suarez in gw 9 when he has that amazing run.... is it worth a punt with only 0.4% ownership?? we know tevez is out, and dzeko will be dropped, and their playing blackburn then villa at home.... for me, its very tempting.... but would drogba be the more wiser punt.... or even hernandez.... tough decisions. help??

I think he'll play but I'm not sure it's ever prudent to get that man in. Capable of a massive haul but equally capable of getting sent off or subbed off at any point.

Potentially it could be massive though, I'd rather go with Drogba or Hernandez myself though. The thing with Hernandez is that he will likely carry on playing when Rooney is back, so would seem more assured of the minutes long term - it might save you a points hit one week.

Always dangerous to bring someone in for 1/2 gameweeks whilst telling yourself "I'll transfer him out for X in two weeks' time" as it only takes one injury/suspension/enormous tantrum for you to be forced into a different tranfer and then you're looking at a hit to take him out again.

I'd go for Hernandez if you've got the cash - likely to be fit, good fixture this week and pretty much a nailed on starter all else being equal.

The other factor to consider is that Mancini may well decide to play 1 up front and Balotelli only gets 15 minutes at the end!

yep. i'm looking at Balotelli for 1 or 2 weeks. might even make him (C) for a double differential whammy.

and if he doesn't do the business, he's out and Adebayor is a good replacement.

Chelsea fans, talk to me about Anelka. How's he been playing? Likely starter against Bolton?

      well

      Kalou is crap
      Torres is out
Malouda played 90 against Valencia (as did Mata, but Mata will start at the weekend).

      I'd say Anelka starts

How would you rate my team so far gents, I have done no changes as of yet, just wondering if you guys think it's good or bad?

    Given (Vorm)
    Bosingwa Kompany Brown (Simpson) (Enrique)
    Mata Young Silva Dyer (Walters)
    Rooney Adebayor Sturridge

Will most likely be doing Rooney>>>>Aguero (C) when I hear some news!

All my rivals have wildcarded and have a basic skeleton of Silva-Nani and RVP-Aguero.

The catch is, im 50 points from up top, used my free transfer, and now Im stuck with Rooney, the difference will be RVP here. Must I transfer him in or not. Dilemma. And I can't keep my mind off it.. ๐Ÿ™ Help fellas.

Wait for news....then if Rooney is out go for the player you truly believe will bring you in the most points. If you think it's RVP go for it, if you think it's Aguero then I suggest you follow suit otherwise you'll fall even further behind.

Personlly I think Aguero is more likely to score big than RVP. sO given that I have the same problem I can assure you I will be going Aguero all the way.

Don't worry about differentials at this stage of the season just try and get in the players that will get in the most points "potentially". I ignore what other people in my league and what they are doing as I found it was swaying my decisions negatively in the past!
