Juan Mata’s assist gave us the merest whiff of a win in Gameweek 6, but with the Spaniard failing to add to his goal tally in the 4-1 win over Swansea, we took the loss on the chin and moved on.

We fancy our chances of bettering Paddy Power this time around though – with nailed-on Fantasy forces Nani and Sergio Aguero in the mix, along with some leftfield options from Scott Sinclair and John Arne Riise, plus a tempting little accumulator on the big scoring strikers. Paddy has set up some individual markets around this week’s top Fantasy picks, let’s see what kind of hand they’ve dealt us.

Nani is just irresistible right now and, even though Wayne Rooney will likely be on the pitch while the Norwich rabbit wanders into the Old Traffford headlights, we still fancy the Portuguese trickster to take centre stage. Understandably, his regular goal odds are short but, Paddy are happy to tempt us with some longer odds for some Fantasy combos – you can get 5/1 on Nani earning a goal and an assist, with the same price available for a goal from outside the box. While they’re very decent offers, we’ll take the shorter odds of 4/1 on a Nani goal and United clean sheet double act – we’ll gladly stake £3 of our tenner on that one.

While Rooney has been attending early fittings of the golden boot – Sergio Aguero also fancies trying it on for size. The Argentinian is just a single goal behind the United man in the race for leading scorer and, with a trip to Ewood Park beckoning, he’s got to fancy his chances. Again the odds on Ageuro being on the scoresheet are understandably short, but Paddy has cooked up some alternatives to your straight first or anytime goal bets. You can get 9/2 on two or more Aguero goals, but we prefer the 6/1 odds on a goal in each half – throwing a couple of quid Paddy’s way on that.

Scott Sinclair brought us our first Flutter win of the season a few Gameweeks back so he’s a player we hold close to our hearts around these parts. With Stoke at the Liberty Stadium this weekend, we’ve revisited our favourite Chelsea reject to get prices on further goal exploits. While Paddy is offering 21/10 on an anytime goal, with 11/2 to score a free-kick of penalty, we particularly like the odds of 9/1 on a Sinclair assist coupled with a Swansea clean sheet. A bit of a punt, but we have faith in Sinclair as our lucky charm.

Fulham’s John Arne Riise is our final single player market and, while he’s let us down in the Flutter before now, we’re willing to give him another chance to bring in some profit as Fulham face QPR at the Cottage. Again, we could go for the shorter odds here with Paddy pushing 12/5 on a Fulham clean sheet and Riise to avoid a booking. There’s also 7/2 on a Riise assist, but we’re going to go with the healthy odds of 14/1 on Riise to score from outside the box. He who dares.

To round things up and to soak up our final couple of quid, we’ve got our usual accumulator bet. This gameweek we’re putting our eggs firmly in the basket marked “Heavy Hitters” – backing one or more goals for Aguero, Luis Suarez and Robin Van Persie. Paddy have priced this market at 14/1 – worth a shout with all three strikers carrying form into their respective matches.

Derby hero Money Back Special!

Paddy have focused on this weekend’s derby matches for not just one, but three, money back specials.

In the Everton vs Liverpool clash at Goodison, if Luis Suarez OR Marouane Fellaini score the last goal, Paddy will refund all losing 1st/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.

Similarly, in the West London derby at the Cottage, should DJ Campbell or Bobby Zamora score the last goal, Paddy will give you your money back on all losing 1st/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.

Finally, at White Hart Lane, if Emmanuel Adebayor scores, Paddy Power will again refund all losing 1st /last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match. That’s got to be worth a sniff.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to this betting lark and new to Paddy Power then you can take up any of these odds and offers and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Song's an excellent centre half actually from what I've seen. Reads the game well and has a more level head than Koscielny and Djourou (all in my opinion of course).

They'll lack his presence in midfield if they do though. Frimpong suffers from headless chicken syndrome.

Why, do you not think much of Song at centre back? I was at Arsenal on Wednesday, and thought he was very solid.

What Arsenal will miss is distrubution out of defence. I don't think he, and certainly not Mertesacker, play the ball forward as well as Koscielny or Vermaelen.

    Given (Ruddy)
    Enrique Kompany Shawcross (Hughes Simpson)
    Silva Brunt Walcott Sinclair (Moses)
    Rooney (C) Suarez Adebayor

    2 questions:

    2) Which two to play out of Brunt, Moses, Hughes, Simpson, Shawcross.

    Given (Vorm)
    Kompany, Shawcross, RJohnson, Simpson, NTaylor
    Nani, VDV, Arteta (Petrov, Moses)
    Rooney, Aguero (Graham)

I'm thinking Chelsea will hold a CS against Bolton, as well as Villa to Wigan.

Evening Lads & Ladettes. Some last minute knee-jerking going on. I'm feeling the need to lose De Laet. I have 0.5M in the bank. My question is this - De-Laet to Johnny Evans? Surely a 4.5M United defender is going to be a bargain?

    Vorm (Krul)
Berra, Brown, Bosingwa (De Laet, Simpson)
    Silva, NDyer, Young, Arteta (Petrov)
    Adebayor, Roonpig, Aguero

Or could that half a mil be used better elsewhere? Any alternative suggestions? Advice appreciated...

Evans will be good short term but when Rio & vidic come back he wont get much game time, espec with Jones & Smalling in such good form. Neil Taylor & Rangel of Swansea are good budget options, they won't give much away in the majority of games.

I might save my tranfer for after Sat then use the double to swith things about over the int break. What do you think of my selected line-up for the week. Berra/Wolves may have to go if no cleanie this week!

    Planning to wildcard tomorrow night.

One free transfer but wondering whether its worth a 4pt hit getting in Nani and Adebayor as both going up tonight and I’m already strapped for cash even with the WC as it is!

Would be Saurez > Adebayor and Mata > Nani.

Or just do Suarez to Ade?

I think Suarez is going to do something big 2mo. He's that kind of player. Remember against MU at home last season? He ripped them to shreds. Big game player who will be well up for it. Ade will prob score as well, but will he outscore Suarez by more than 4 points?

I take it you cant get Nani in without downgrading Suarez to Ade?

Opinions please, then i'll leave ye all alone 🙂

    A) Dzeko -> Adebayor (free)

    B) Baines & Dzeko -> Rangel & Aguero (4pt hit)

    C) Keep Dzeko, save tranfer..

I think I'm keeping Dzeko, I have Adebayor though. Don't really see any other good direct replacements.

    alright ignorerers, try again
    conundrum,
original plan (before rvp’s brace & shrek’s injury & ressurection) was walcott/suarez/rvp > mid/aguero/rooney (-4) unless rvp got the returns I’ve been expecting, which he did.
I’m confident roon will outscore rvp by 4+ this gw, don’t buy into the talk of a goalfest in london spurs are defending very well now. Over the next 2/3 gw’s though probably not much between them.
It’s just dawned on me though it’s now or never to get rooney in. rvp > roon makes no sense next week and if he scores vs norwich it would be 3 weeks of nti before getting him is viable. By then he’ll probably cost 13-13.5
So -4 for rvp > rooney(c) knowing I can swap back anytime or stick with rvp knowing rooney might be out of reach if rvp can’t match him?

the mid (ramires) and aguero are done already. Just rvp to roon for the hit that's hurting my brain. I think they'll score similarly over 3 gw's but roon will be unattainable if i dont do it...

Well Walcott, Suarez out I wouldnt bemoan too much, I like having RVP though its sort of comforting. In a way I'd love to just have four midfield slots and four attacking slots so I could play 4-2-4 with Rooney, Adebayor, RVP and Aguero up front. Tasty.

However sacrifices must be made, and if you feel that strongly that you must have Rooney then do get him for this week in the knowledge that he is not 100% definitely going to start. You'll still be happier for the long run.

thanks atilla & doos. Think I'll take the hit and finally get pigman. Can swap to rvp anytime but pricing myself out of rooney doesn't seem too wise. Cheers.
