Gabby Agbonlahor’s goal and assist in Aston Villa’s win over Wigan yesterday laid down the gauntlet for his fellow low-priced Fantasy forwards and this afternoon saw three more players step up with some double figure returns.

Daniel Sturridge was first out the traps in Chelsea’s Reebok rout. When available, Sturridge has started every league game for Andre Villas-Boas’ side and further-cemented his place in his manager’s first-team thinking with two goals and an assist at old club Bolton.

Firing the Blues into the lead within two minutes, Sturridge added another goal and assist to put his side into a 3-0 lead before the half-hour mark and is already his side’s top-scoring Fantasy forward, despite appearing in just three games. Chelsea are clearly clicking under Villas-Boas and look full of goals right now, with a 5-1 final score perhaps even kind on the home side, such was their total dominance. At 6.5, the fortnight’s break will surely see his bandwagon pick up pace ahead of a gameweek eight home clash with Everton.

The three o’clock kick-off at Craven Cottage saw Andy Johnson continue the form that has seen him grab six goals in nine appearances on the European stage. Johnson-starting his first league game since gameweek two- helped end QPR’s unbeaten run as Martin Jol’s side picked up their first league win of the campaign in emphatic fashion.

Echoing Sturridge’s early goal, Johnson netted within a couple of minutes but went one step further than the Chelsea player with a hat-trick and assist in the 6-0 rout, though with his game time definitely less guaranteed, it’s fair to say that Fantasy suitors may be deterred. At 5.1, however, he’s presented a strong case as Fantasy managers’ cut-price striker option, though with Moussa Dembele and Bryan Ruiz vying for a place alongside Bobby Zamora, Johnson has plenty competition- if he can force his way into Jol’s starting eleven on a more permanent basis, Johnson looks ripe for investment.

Zamora returned to action after being sidelined with illness last week and again proved pivotal for Jol’s side. His goal and two assists may well have been overshadowed by Johnson’s display but the 6.7 FPL forward continued to show that, when fit, he offers a consistency that is often overlooked- currently, he’s owned by just 3% of Fantasy managers. Zamora has now appeared in four games for Fulham this season and has either scored, assisted or picked up bonus in every game.

Today’s (pre-bonus) twelve point return means Zamora has scored in his third game in a row and has returned three goals, three assists and four bonus in those four games. The gameweek eight Britannia clash may dent that record but it’s clear he’s looking a real solid performer under the guidance of Jol and if he can stay match-fit, looks like a real value for money option as the season unfolds.

what trade did you already make then if you have no freebies? and young > nani for a hit is a bad transfer.

de laet to ntaylor and suarez to aguero maybe but def don't do young > nani. even suarez to aguero is debatable because after united, liverpool have great fixtures for a few weeks! so maybe just keep it to de laet to ntaylor for this week. or you could even just keep de laet on ur bench for a week because n taylor will be on your bench anyways

Adebayor to Sturridge. Worth a shot imo 😉

Nani at 10.2m atm, so is Young (sells price). Nani's +30% according to fiso, Young at -50%, so I can wait and see with this one. Young's at 10.4m (costs)

Suarez to Aguero leaves me with 0.1 in the bank. Suarez +43%, Aguero -13%. So again, I can wait.

De Laet to N. Taylor. Taylor's at +93% but with 0.1m in the bank I can live with that, but for how long? ;(

Well , sturridge probably wont start every game , but neither will Rooney Aguero etc.
So far he has started every game that he has been available for , so is clearly a big part in the plans.
Drogba is past it , and is the one that needs more rest , Sturridge is young and fit and will start more often as not.

At the price , does it really matter if he is rested occasionally ? not often you get a striker that cheap playing for an attacking team like chelsea

Gabby is always gonna have a place in a strong Villa side atm in time, and he is on form, scoring goals and assisting in Bent's goals. He will almost certainly get near to 90 minutes every time as long as he is fit. Villa cannot be without him, whereas Sturridge is a different story.

    Hey lads,
Got some problems with the next set of decisions to make my team alright come the next GW.
What would you guys do to this team to make it better for the next GW?

    Given (Ruddy)
    Kompany Jones Brown (Simpson Naylor)
    Silva Nani Adam Dyer (Moses)
    Adebayor Rooney Agbonlahor

Got 1 free transfer and dont mind taking a hit or 2.
    Got 1.8M in the bank.

Was thinking of doing Moses -> Ramsey but not sure?
And also is it worth keeping Rooney around for the next 3 difficult games?
    Any advice would be Lurrvvely.

Rooney this season has been getting chances no matter who the opponent. So you shouldn't be worried about that. Moses at Bolton could be his time. But Ramsey has been tempting me after three very good GW's.

To be honest don't know why I kept him so long, planned on ditching him for ages but he may stay around now. Could actually make up for all the money I lost on him 2 now.

Dude.. no one can 'confirm' that. We are all just guessing. I don't even think McLeish is certain of his best 1st XI.

All you need to know, is that he is in form, and getting first team games. Currently, I'd say he is def nailed on for the next game. But pretty much 80% of the players in the Prem are only ever 1 bad game from the bench.

Opinions needed.. I've played my wildcard, but feel like I want to switch things up a bit over int' break. Team is:

    Vorm, Krul

Bosingwa, Kompany, Simpson, De Laet, Gabbidon

    Nani, Silva, Arteta, Wright-Phillips, Dyer

    Aguero, Rooney, Agbonlahor

Ideal world, I'd get rid of De Laet / Gabbidon at some point but its not pressing. Most weeks I intend 3 at the back with Kompany and Bosingwa playing vast majority of games.

Any thoughts on moves I could make to strengthen? .3 in the bank.

To be honest mate im loving that team, excellent forward three, quite solid mid, and good defence, if i had to make changes, i would ship out arteta for an equal priced player, or downgrade arteta and upgrade SWP or dyer, i would do it for SWP as i think qpr are going nowhere in a hurry.

overall i like it your team a lot 🙂

I'm level in H2H with someone, it's gonna depend on bonus points.

      My players that differs from his are as follows;

      Mine
      Vorm
      R Taylor/N Taylor
      Mata/Dyer/Barton

      His
      Given
      Simpson/Jagielka/Warnock
      Silva/Arteta

I'm thinking of his players only Silva might get bonus points. I'm thinking from mine that Dyer/Mata/R Taylor and N Taylor could all be in with a shout for bonus points, Dyer maybe being the most likely. What are your opinions?

You're probably right about Mata because he came off early. I think Silva could get 1-2 bonus points, Nasri and Balotelli are surely due the 3-2. My best bet is on Dyer possibly getting 2, not sure what way the EA player index works though.

I was at the QPR game today and let me say, QPR players will NOT get any bonus pts, lol, they were HORRIBLE!! So don't expect any for Barton

Dyer could get all 3 pts, if not then at least 1 or 2
