Okay…you might have noticed – things have changed around here.

After months and months of time, money, sweat and tears – we thought we’d roll out the new layout just to see if things held together. It’s a gamble – it may disappear before your very eyes and revert back to the old Scout. Then again, it might be here to stay.

We hope that all goes smoothly – the that the new layout settles on our servers and will provide the basis for a new era for the site. Let’s see how we go.

There is more to do (we know the Watchlist is incomplete and the poll is old). More features to roll out – particularly within the comments code. For now, we’re taking baby steps – although this is a pretty big first stride.

So then, if you stayed with us long enough to reach this ungodly hour, you get to the see the new look on the live servers – a proper first.

We hope you like.

Ps: apologies for any lost comments from the last couple of hours – needs must I’m afraid.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Yeah, I was seriously confused when I checked in. Had one of the old pages up, so refreshed it and it was totally different! Baffled the hell out of me!!

Loving the look of it so far, much slicker.

    New site looks really cool.

Guess i should ask a question then:

    Given, Vorm

    Bosingwa, Jones, Brown, Simpson, DeLaet

    Young, Silva, VDV, Arteta, Surman

    Aguero, Odemwingie, Ba

.5 in bank, 1 free tranny

i could a) use .5 to go aguero to RVP and captain RVP,
    b) go surman to moses to have a viable 5th mid, decent option if aguero doesnt go, surman is dead weight
    c) go de laet to 4 or 4.5 defender, who though? not sure about getting swansea in and starting vorm AND defender, could do sideways move to Barnett and save the .5
    d) wingie out sturridge in?
    3) WC?

      a) if Aguero is out, otherwise d). You can get by without changing De Laet so c) should be last choice.

d could pay off but leave me with a crap bench, still have 2 players who arent playing. pfft. at some point i gotta address these friggin canaries.

I'm gonna wildcard after GW11 - maybe address all this issues in the 2 week gap then?

I think d) is your best play. Wingie not on form or pens, whereas Sturrudge is on fire, cheap and gives you Chelsea attacking coverage. I'd be bringing Sturridge in if I didn't have RVP, Suarez and Adebayor.

fair points. damn i thought i was going to strike gold with wingie. Nightmare season so far. in form chelsea attack for less money than out of form Albion attack seems a no brainer.

      (c) should be the least priority. You still have 4 DFs who can play.

      (d) or (a) .. up to Aguero condition and your strategy to keep or ditch Aguero. I'm leaning to (d), anyway.

sorry thats n taylor, not r taylor or s taylor. epic fail. yeah i think stoke will keep a couple more cleanies at home. i think wooodgate is worth the .5 more, but price vs points rather even.

Yeah I could, but it would mean playing one of Brown(ars) or Dunne(mcy) at the back this week (assuming Senderos doesn't start). With my WC still in hand, I guess it is a bit of a waste of a transfer to fix Senderos before I play it..hmmmmm

Wow i'm loving the new layout. Can't believe how far we've come since the old blog style layout a couple of seasons ago with those yellow boxes.

Only thing is hope the font for the body of the articles are changed to something more modern like 'Calibri' to match the rest of the site.

Is there a place where we can post suggestions for improving site based on new layout?

Time and date of Tweets would be nice 😉

I always thought it would be interesting to look back at the Scout Picks too..... i.e. see how each scored so we could start to get an historical view of the Picks. Or maybe that would be too scary for some?

    😉

Overall the new site looks very professional!

OK, Emperor's new clothes time. Many years here, only a few posts, but here is another.

Feel strongly that this completes the corporate buyout, dumbing down and serious degradation of the official FPL site relative to the past. Empty green stands appealing? Obviously not. Cartoon figure of Mark identifies the site and its posters as world thought leaders? No.

Which is better: large empty black stripes on the side, or waiting until Mon. for bonus points?

Anyone have any opinions on what I should do I have run out of ideas:
2 Free Transfers, 0.1 in the bank
    Given, Vorm
De Laet, Bos, Jones, Richards, Simpson
    Moses, Silva, Sinclair, Dyer, Mata
    Adebayor, Aguero, Rooney

I actually think your team is pretty good. Maybe a bit swansea heavy but they are doing well so maybe thats something thats ok for you.
My only suggestions would be to get rid of De laet as he doesnt play anymore.
      Liking the strikeforce though

While everyone's flexing their reply muscle, I'd like to comment on the McLeish quote:

Why buy NZogbia and tell him to defend, when he did so well at Wigan running wide? The Scot seems almost compulsive with his defensive strategies.

He used to be a left back if im not mistaken so McLeish obviously wants him to 'recapture' this part of his game.
Like you I'm a bit perplexed as to why he would want to do that when Villa are crying out for some more creativity and a goal threat

I agree. To come out and say effectively the following:

I'm dropping him because he's plaing worse
He's playing worse because I'm asking him to defend

is a bit of a confession of guilt if you ask me. I suppose it was a good time to say it, just after they beat wigan.
