The FA overturn Jack Rodwell’s three-match ban, Adel Taarabt looks likely to escape a fine after his Sunday walk out at Craven Cottage. Bacary Sagna is expected to be sidelined for three months after surgery, as Wojciech Szczesny also joins the Gunners injury list. Steve Bruce hints at upcoming first-team chances for Connor Wickham, Alan Pardew warns against changing his winning formula and Man City look set to make a decision over Carlos Tevez by Thursday, according to reports. Here’s some quick Tuesday morning Scribbles, folks…

This afternoon saw Jack Rodwell’s red card and subsequent three-match ban rescinded by the authorities. An FA panel ruled against Martin Atkinson’s decision to send off the midfielder in Saturday’s derby with Liverpool and Rodwell is now available for selection with immediate effect.

Despite storming out of Craven Cottage after his half-time substitution on Sunday, Adel Taarabt will not be fined by Neil Warnock. While his side were being beaten 6-0 by Fulham, the Moroccan was pictured at a bus stop looking slightly sheepish after his tantrum but Warnock reportedly empathises with the player:

“Put it this way, if I was subbed at half-time after that first half, I would have left. There was nowhere for him to sit and watch the game, so I don’t blame him for going. It’s been blown out of all proportion.”

Arsenal have today confirmed Bacary Sagna has undergone surgery on a fractured right fibula. The right-back was taken off on sixty-eight minutes against Spurs after a collision and will be out of action for a minimum three months with the problem. Young Carl Jenkinson looks likely to step up as an automatic replacement, though given the Gunners poor defensive record of late, little confidence can be expected in their back line.

Gunners goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has pulled out of Poland’s upcoming internationals with a back injury. The stopper didn’t appear to be suffering with the problem in the weekend clash with Spurs, though, and is expected to return for the Gameweek eight home clash with Sunderland.

Sunderland have joined the chase for ex-Birmingham player James McFadden. The Scot is a free agent after his St Andrews contract run out over the summer and has been training with Wolves recently, with a bid from Mick McCarthy already on the table. Steve Bruce has also entered the fray as the Black Cats look to boost their forward options following a stuttering start to the season.

Bruce has been full of praise for Nicklas Bendtner after Saturday’s home draw with West Brom. A goal and assist from the big Dane at the Stadium of Light means he has returned one goal, three assists and 3 FPL bonus points in his four games for the Black Cats but is unavailable for the Gameweek eight match at Arsenal due to the loan arrangement with his parent club. In spite of his interest in McFadden, Bruce has assured Connor Wickham and Ji Dong-won their time will come:

“But certainly, Connor and Ji are in my thoughts. Their time might be just around the corner too, so let’s hope when they get their chance, they can give everybody a lift too.”

Carlos Tevez is likely to learn his Man City fate by Thursday. The forward was interviewed by club officials for an hour yesterday and after giving his side of events, has reportedly been allowed to fly home to Argentina. Keen to clear up the saga, the club are expected to make their decision within the next forty-eight hours- from a Fantasy angle, Tevez’s possible departure would certainly mean more starts for the likes of Mario Balotelli and with Sergio Aguero’s injury still unclear, the Italian has shown he’s ready to step up to the task, with two goals in his last two starts for City.

Despite the return to fitness of the likes of Hatem Ben Arfa and Davide Santon, Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has admitted he’s wary of making changes. Unbeaten after seven games and sitting in fourth place, Pardew feels consistency of selection has been one of the key reasons his side are currently excelling:

“There’s no doubt that one or two players coming into the team can change the character of it quite quickly. That was evident at Nottingham Forest (in the Carling Cup third round), when we conceded three goals – and two of them were quite sloppy ones…You have always got to be adaptable and always got to be ready to understand that one player can make the make-up of the team very different.”

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

        I've got Aguero - Suarez - Adebayor.

Was fooled by the predicted length of Rooney's injury, and am unsure whether to stick with Aguero, or get Rooney back in.

Ramsey is playing the furthest fwd of the midfilders and there really isnt another Arsenal attacking option (other than RVP) as Gervinho and Walcott are inconsistent (and more often useless than anything else). Arteta looks out of his depth at Arsenal and Song is too defensive.

Hmm good point. With Bolton's good fixtures Boyata (£4m) could be a good shout for those who can't afford £5.4m on GCahill. But if they're going to lose each time he plays, maybe not such a great shout...

Robinson's selection, much like Zat Knight and Nicklas Bendtner, is indeed one of the great mysteries...

Without a doubt. I've posted many times over the last couple of seasons making comments that in all honesty have foreseen our current crisis. I wasn't being clever and to be honest it was obvious. Year upon year we have sold our major players whilst replacing them with younger ones (on lesser wages) who will one day be good enough. Trouble is when they are good enough the better players have left by then and these upcoming ones leave before the next wave of talent is good enough. The bigger problem now is that someone like Ramsey is rated highly and isn't a patch when compared to the likes of Vieira, Petit and Edu. They were Wenger signings, but he is no longer capable of producing a title winning side and is too intent on trying to copy the model of Barcelona and his obsession with the Champions League means that whenever we go out, the season comes to an abrupt end as he obviously portrays too much importance to it that the players are left deflated and unable to rally domestically. It was his vision to move Stadium so that we could compete on the world stage. That has to be one of the worst lines ever to come from his mouth and he has spouted some serious waffle. We compromised a World Class team for a World Class Stadium (although I still prefer Highbury).

Wenger always tries to save pounds, when sometimes you actually need to stump up the cash to challenge. The blame does not just lie with him and since David Dein left the board have become a joke to the point where silverware is not important, merely Champions League Qualification to ensure the TV revenue etc. keeps coming.

We are now at a position where our squad is as poor as I can remember and we most certainly have a weaker team to the one that he inherited. I think he has lost the plot, Pat Rice is a yes man, we have two billionaire shareholders and our gate receipts are the highest in the world.

A complete change is needed at Arsenal. 7pts from 7 games is a joke.

So in short, yep I'm deadly serious. (I hate posts like your's as I end up on a mission - rant over)

Don't do it... Aguero will be fit for the next game. Rooney and Aguero are the best strikers.

Also what price did you buy Aguero at? If like me you bought him at 11.0 then it's not worth rushing to sell him before he drops to 11.4. Whether he's at 11.5 or 11.4 he'll still be worth 11.2 when you sell.

bought at 11.1, thats why i need to sell, my striking plans are as follows (as posted above)

GW8 RVP (SUN) Ade (new)& Suarez (MUN)
GW9 RVP (STO) Ade (blk) & Suarez (NOR)
GW10 Aguero (WOL) Ade (QPR) & Suarez (wba)

Quite likely given Rio's form & fitness.

If fit, will Rafael enter the equation?? Or is he behind Smalling and Jones for the RB slot?...

    Nani Silva Petrov Vdv Bannan

    Sturridge Adebayor RVP

Got sturridge instead of roon at the mo in order to allow VDV as manu fixtures arent great. planning on bringing him back in for RVP after arsenals good run of fixtures. may even get aguero depending on sitcho at the time. cheers

    hello there

    Given, Vorm

    Bosingwa, Jones, Brown, Simpson, DeLaet

    Young, Silva, VDV, Arteta, Surman

    Aguero, Odemwingie, Ba

    .5 in bank, 1 tranny

    a) .5 gets me aguero->rvp, someone who i can captain, move arteta next week
    b) .5 gets me surman->moses, i know hes done little but opta stats suggest potential and surman is dead weight, plus home to bolton i could live with having him play for aguero if aguero doesnt feature.
    c) .5 gets me DeLaet->Woodgate, stoke 4 of next 6 at home and de Laet needs to go
    d) odemwingie->sturridge, pocket .9, get chelsea coverage and ignore the prospect of potentially no bench
    e) a combo of a, b, c, d for a 4 point hit
    f) WC

A and D seem ok but I suggest waiting until closer to the deadline to assess the fitness of Aguero.

B is a terrible call. I have Moses and quite frankly I can't wait to get rid of him. Dyer at Swansea is a far better shout for that kind of cash.

I'd do c), Fuzzy. I've been pondering the Aguero - RvP question, and I'm waiting for a fitness report before I decide anything (I'm hoping he benefits from no international and comes out better for the rest).

Sturridge is bound to rise massively, so if you're financially stretched, it would be tempting to whack him in before the price risies and he sails out of reach, but not essential; I think Odem's due a few goals - everyone else is at it, after all.
