Sunday’s edition of the Dugout Discussion rolls into action just before the first game of the day kicks-off. The non-televised Midlands derby between West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers serves as our starter before the three-course football feast goes to Emirates for Arsenal versus Sunderland, and then finally to St. James’ Park as Newcastle United host Tottenham Hotspur.

The team news for the day’s opener is in, and here are the line-ups…

West Brom XI: Foster, Reid, Olsson, McAuley, Jones, Brunt, Mulumbu, Scharner, Thomas, Long, Tchoyi.

Wolves XI: Hennessey, Stearman, Berra, Johnson, Ward, Jarvis, Milijas, O’Hara, Henry, Hammill, Doyle.

Our predicted line-ups haven’t faired too well here it has to be said, with the home side naming only naming Nicky Shorey, James Morrision, Graham Dorrans and Peter Odemwingie on the substitutes bench.

Fewer surprises in the visitors line-up, with only David Edwards and Stephen Hunt not playing as predicted, with Nenad Milijas and Adam Hamill slotting into midfield.

So join me in the Dugout Discussion, where you’ll find me slowly rocking in the corner, praying that I can improve my miserable total of 11 points. I have just three players yet to play.

This shows just how great the EA scoring system is... RVP's great skill and chip to hit the inside of the post will give him minus EA points. After all, it was nothing more than a shot off target! Shows how much a system based on stats actually misses in terms of quality.

Luckily he should have the Baps in the bag anyway!

Depends on what else you would like to do with your team over the next few weeks I suppose. They both look good but hard to ignore the Sturridge price.

Tough choice. I have Sturridge and will probably do Mata to VdV, otherwise I have 3 Chelsea players and I feel that may be too many.

Yeah I think that Sturridge is cheaper and that will allow me to get VDV, but his lack of minutes is worrying me. If I go with Ade, than probably won't go with VDV and I won't have Che cover. I really don't know what to do, but 2 fantasy millions is a lot.

The thing is though, he HAS been playing and I think he will continue to. He is sharp around the goal whereas Drogba looks a little slow. He provides a little width in addition to scoring threat I like him

Well Taylor was left on in this game to provide set piece threat at 1-2 down imo. I still think that Santon will replace Taylor long term, though if Simpson doesnt buck his ideas up he is at risk too. Thats why I got Steve Taylor, the other two are both at risk.

Sturridge isn't a rotation risk. Probably Agbonlahor though for the next 3 if it's a choice between them. Those are some good games.

AVB said specifically that he had not decided on his forwards for the weekend. That is de facto rotation risk. Having said that, I think you are onto something, and that the risk is lower than for example the City strikers (excluding Aguero).

Any Stokies here know how nailed on Wilkinson is? Could be just the 4.0 defender I need to replace De Laet.

Stoke coming off the back of another European Thursday night adventure though. Even a miserable Sunderland side managed to hammer them after the last one.

        After European games:

        Sunderland 4-0 Stoke
        Swansea 2-0 Stoke

Just don't like predicting Stoke games though. Whereas Norwich have conceded in every game

Could a ban start as early as next week though? I would have thought it would take them a bit more time to investigate than that...

I reckon it's gotta be between RVP and Suarez. Suarez's fixture is probably a bit more friendly, but RVP perhaps in better form on todays evidence...

I will give chance to Suarez in the next 2 to outscore Roonster. I need to re balance my team with one budget striker and Its him or Suarez for the chop

          Ah.. got it.

I think Rooney will continue his rampage quite soon. Besides, this GW was all about getting Aguero out and RVP in 😉
