Sunday’s edition of the Dugout Discussion rolls into action just before the first game of the day kicks-off. The non-televised Midlands derby between West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers serves as our starter before the three-course football feast goes to Emirates for Arsenal versus Sunderland, and then finally to St. James’ Park as Newcastle United host Tottenham Hotspur.

The team news for the day’s opener is in, and here are the line-ups…

West Brom XI: Foster, Reid, Olsson, McAuley, Jones, Brunt, Mulumbu, Scharner, Thomas, Long, Tchoyi.

Wolves XI: Hennessey, Stearman, Berra, Johnson, Ward, Jarvis, Milijas, O’Hara, Henry, Hammill, Doyle.

Our predicted line-ups haven’t faired too well here it has to be said, with the home side naming only naming Nicky Shorey, James Morrision, Graham Dorrans and Peter Odemwingie on the substitutes bench.

Fewer surprises in the visitors line-up, with only David Edwards and Stephen Hunt not playing as predicted, with Nenad Milijas and Adam Hamill slotting into midfield.

So join me in the Dugout Discussion, where you’ll find me slowly rocking in the corner, praying that I can improve my miserable total of 11 points. I have just three players yet to play.

Joey Barton dismisses the England national team as a 'southern, elitist' club:

"I've played well enough over the last 18 months for them to select me, he's [Capello's] chosen not to, so for me I'm planning on going away and playing golf and watching the [European] Championships on TV, and no doubt being massively let down by an England side coming home quite early."

He added: "I mean, my massive issue with England, or Team England as it's now known, is it is now an elitist, southern-based team. I mean, it's neat to have Wembley, you know, but why should England specifically play there? How can you be passionate about England if you live in Newcastle and you've got to travel over 200 miles, or if you live in Carlisle. I mean, they've become an elitist, southern-based club, and for me I think your average Englishman really doesn't care about England any more."

Barton is given far to much time by the media. I realise he creates stories, but he's a div.

      Obviously jelly.

I remember seeing one of his tweets where he put himself in the England team ahead of Barry, Parker, Carrick, Milner etc. He is overrated imo.

I'd like to see England play at Emirates, OT, St James etc again but it won't happen.

To be honest, wenger is clearly losing the plot with his team selection. 4-5-1 is clearly not working, Try 4-4-2 and play Park with RVP. Why buy a player like Park or Oxlade-Chamberlain and not play them

      Chesney
      Sagna Verm Kos Gibbs
      Song Wilshere
      Walcott Arteta Gervinho
      RVP
would be a good team though, injuries are their problem.

Diaby is inconsistent and Chamberlain should be playing ahead of walcott. Jenkinson delivers some good balls in the box and player like Chamakh would have scored a few goals.

Woah, woah. Something weird. Larsson's goal went in from a free kick, just as Rooney's did, both against Arsenal. Rosicky could be seen with his back to goal even before the goal was scored for Rooney's effort, just walking without a care in the world, he was in the exact same position walking in the exact same way when Larsson scored. It was an absolute spitting image of it on the slow-mo replay.
