The EA Sports PPI statistics are now available and the Fantasy Premier League bonus points have now been added to the game. Here’s a game by game breakdown of how this map out for gameweek eight…

Liverpool 1 Man United 1
Gerrard 3, Welbeck 2, Hernandez 1

Few surprises here – we predicted the 2 for Javier Hernandez but won’t begrudge Danny Welbeck a single bonus point for his display and assist on United’s equaliser. Steven Gerrard’s maximum was a foregone conclusion here given his goal and contribution to the Liverpool display.

Chelsea 3 Everton 1
Terry 3, Sturridge 2, Lampard 1

John Terry, always a strong scorer in the EA PPI, not surprisingly comes out on top, having also got on the scoresheet in the 3-1 win. As we predicted, Daniel Sturridge and Frank Lampard also reaped reward for their goal and assist contributions respectively.

Wigan 1 Bolton 3
Eagles 3, K Davies 2, Diame 1

Chris Eagles was our top ICT Index performer of the week and was also top of the EA PPI rankings. Three bonus points will follow for the Bolton man but, while we predicted returns for Nigel Reo-Coker and David Ngog, it was Kevin Davies (despite his penalty miss) and Wigan’s Mohamed Diame who earned higher PPI totals.

QPR 1 Blackburn 1
Samba 3, Helguson 2, Lowe 1

Although honours were even at Loftus Road, our prediction based on our ICT figures fared well, with Blackburn’s Chris Samba picking up a strong EA PPI total – the third highest in the gameweek. QPR’s scorer Heidar Helguson ranked second in this match, with Blackburn’s Jason Lowe set for a single bonus point for his PPI tally.

Man City 4 Aston Villa 1
Balotelli 3, Johnson 2, Kompany 1

Mario Balotelli earned the top PPI total in this match for his acrobatic opener, with Adam Johnson’s goal and assist earning the winger number two spot. Vincent Kompany demonstrated his newfound threat from set-pieces by claiming a goal- enough to earn him the single bonus point.

Norwich City 3 Swansea 1
Pilkington 3, Martin 2, Barnett 1

With a brace of goals, Anthony Pilkington was amongst the top ICT and EA PPI performers this weekend and it’s no surprise to see him claim the three bonus from this one. We predicted Russell Martin for a strong PPI, but didn’t see Leon Barnett’s single bonus point coming – he continues to score heavily in EA PPI terms and remains a bonus darling as a result. He just edged out our prediction for the remaining bonus – Bradley Johnson.

Stoke 2 Fulham 0
Walters 3, Delap 2, Etherington 1

As expected, Jon Walters collected the top EA PPI score from this home win, with Rory Delap ranking second and Matt Etherington, with two assists, coming in third. Andy Wilkinson was Stoke’s top defensive performer, sharing a PPI score with both Jermaine Pennant and Asmir Begovic.

West Brom 2 Wolves 0
Brunt 3, Foster & Reid 2

Chris Brunt picks up his first bonus points of the season with a top ranking EA PPI display in the local derby victory for the Baggies. Ben Foster was the top rated keeper in both the ICT Index and EA PPI rankings and, subsequently, he fetched the two bonus here; while we predicted Peter Odemwingie for the single bonus, it turns out that Steven Reid collected an identical PPI to Foster and will share two bonus points. Billy Jones came in next on the PPI rankings but was denied a bonus by that share.

Arsenal 2 Sunderland 1
Van Persie 3, Koscielny 2, Larsson 1

Robin Van Persie was amongst the top five PPI performers in the gameweek and dominated this match to collect the inevitable maximum bonus. Few would have seen Laurent Koscielny’s PPI score of 22 coming however; that’s going to earn him two bonus points with Sunderland’s scorer, Seb Larsson, picking up a single bonus as expected.

Newcastle 2 Tottenham 2
Ba & Taylor & Van der Vaart 3

We’ve a share at the top of the PPI rankings in this match with both Demba Ba and Rafael Van der Vaart set to earn 3 bonus points for their 22 point totals. Jonas Gutierrez has to make do with a single bonus for his display then, although the PPI scores from this match are still under review with the assist for Shola Ameobi’s goal seemingly awarded to Yohan Cabaye rather than Ryan Taylor.

*Edit* As indicated, this match was reviewed and, with the award of the assist to Ryan Taylor, he tied with Ba and Van der Vaart at the top of the PPI. The three bonus points were therefore shared between all three players.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I'd downgrade one of your strikers to an Agbonlahor/Sturridge, and upgrade Ward to Kompany/Bosingwa/Shawcross. Although if you bench Ward your team already looks fairly good on paper I think.

Priest if that helps, I will ditch Suarez for those 2 games and will bring Aguero. Looks like he is not that good fpl option. I mind his finishing and a lot of shots of target. He scored and got 0 BP and Carroll got 3, also a scorer in that game. The chances for him to explode are less likely than lets say Aguero/RVP/Roonster. So that's my logic.

will he really be banned as soon as saturday if he does at all? Evra has claimed racial abuse before has he not at Chelsea's groundsman or something but nothing happened...its a tricky thing to prove if not blatantly shown on a camera, but i think we would have seen proof of this by now.

I would imagine any ban would be immediate. The FA have got to follow through with the investigation but, without evidence, it looks like there's every chance it will be thrown out fairly soon.

oh, i see what you mean - its that there are only 3 striker positions so there is more competition/choice for those places - whereas with 5 midfield positions there are fewer rivals for his spot (or fewer dilemmas about it)

with the fixtures coming up, its already 4 into 3 with rooney, rvp, suarez and agbonlahor for the front 3

Depends on who's in Mancini's good books. At the moment he's not friends with Dzeko and Tevez. Next week Balotelli could be in the naughty corner. Nasri (being ex-Arsenal) ain't tough enough to start every week. Johnson's always gonna be a rotation risk, so I'd have Silva and Aguero after the derby.

A bit early in the week, I know, but I am going away tomorrow and wont be back until next Monday.

    My team is

    Vorm
    Kompany / Bosingwa / Simpson
    Silva / Gerrard / Mata / Moses
    RVP / Suarez / Adebayor

    Subs : Ruddy / N.Dyer / Boyata / N.Taylor

I have used this weeks FT to do Nani > Gerrard.

I currently have the armband on RVP with Suarez as (VC) as RVP is in great form even though Suarez plays Norwich, I feel stoke away are poor and even more so after the Europa game a few days before.

Is this the best choice? RVP/Suarez/Gerrard are the only players I would consider captaining for this GW?

    Any thoughts appriciated.

i'd play boyata over kompany - you're already banking heavily on united not scoring by having none of their players (if city do keep a clean sheet, kompany has done well for you even on your bench, by preventing your rivals with rooney, nani and young from getting points out of them). i also think sunderland are worse at scoring goals away than united are at scoring them at home

Im getting pretty tired with the rotation even at United and even Chlesea (not to mention CIty of course).
What do you guys think.. getting rid of all those players and risk then bringing in high scores every once in a while, or having consistent players who are scoring more than two points or at least not surprising you by not playing?
Maybe the solution is just having solid subs, and not waste of space like ferguson 🙁

71 for me this week even with R Taylor on the bench!

Got 2 free transfers to use and was thinking of doing Adam and B Johnson in for Arteta and Brunt.

I know Arsenal have good fixtures but Arteta has been a letdown, I have RVP and Adam has a nice run of 3 matches. I have to do the Johnson transfer at the same time or I can't afford Adam, but he'd be benched this week anyway and then Norwich's fixtures pick up nicely. It would also leave me enough in the bank to do Shawcross in for R Taylor the week after.

    Sound ok?

my team is now linked if you wanna have a look now

was thinking of bringing in suarez this week, but i’ve a front three of adebayor, aguero and rooney so it would have to be rooney or aguero to go, which one should i dump, or should i leave alone

my plan was perhaps gerrard and suarez in for nasri and rooney, leaving me with liverpool coverage for their upcoming easy games, and still leaves me nani as united coverage and aguero as city coverage

Can anyone advise on the following?
I was set on plan a) but then I thought that plan b) might be equally valid. I've been screwed by not having Rooney so wanted to eliminate him as a differential come week 11.

    a) Rooney and Petrov
    b) Agbonlahor and Nani +1m

I was planning to achieve this over the next 3 weeks transfers (assuming no problems)
    Week 1: Taarabt > Petrov
    Week 2: Bosingwa/Jones > 4.8/4.4m Def
    Week 3: Agbonlahor > Rooney

    Other option is:
    Week 1: Taarabt > 9.8 Midfielder
Week 2: Bosingwa/Jones to Shawcross or other 5.8/5.4m Def
    Week 3: 9.8 Mid > Nani

    Given (Vorm)
    Bosingwa, Simpson, Enrique, (Jones), (Kompany)
    Taarabt, Ramsey, Sinclair, Moses, (Silva)
    Agbonlahor, Van Persie, Adebayor
    +3.5m in bank

I really don't think you have done the necessary research to eliminate everyone except Fratboy as having seen the film.

p.s. Bring back Cheryl Cole grav. (I think it was you)

Well you are a man so I would say yes, Cheryl Cole would be more attractive than you.

That is debatable, Andrei is pretty dreamy. 😆

I am confusing you with that annoying Camzy person, sorry Christina.

No, everybody has NOT seen the movie. Its poor form to ever give away the ending of the movie, and you did it on a forum read by thousands.

And you still only have one eye.

BTW, I did not give away the ending. I said what de caprio did not find in the lighthouse...

Don't you think it's more important what he ACTUALLY FOUND?

              Thought so.

I had a look. I would let Nasri go. Diff to decide who to hang on to between nani/Roonpig. Peno taker is always a plus.

yeah happy to get rid of nasri for gerrard but then that leads me to think keep aguero as my city coverage and nani as my utd coverage,

i suppose i dont really need suarez but has few nice fixtures and could easily outscore rooney this wknd

            cheers for you input

In the interest of not chasing last week's points, anyone taking any gambles this GW?

    Ones I'm considering ATM:
    Agbonlahor (C)
    S Petrov
    Rochina
    Drenthe
    Vellios
    Kolarov
    Luiz
Tevez - ok, that's just going too far.

Mmmm that is out of left field. I heard Gerrard returning damages his chances of playing? I don't watch Liverpool so I really don't know.

I have Gerrard too, and I only thought Carroll didn't play so they could pack the midfield. But I am not a Liverpool fan so don't know too much about it.

Interesting, I check the Liverpool tab in FPL and they only have three strikers, one of which (Bellamy) they just signed! Trying to understand this I see Kuyt is classified as a midfielder... might be worth a gamble...
