The EA Sports PPI statistics are now available and the Fantasy Premier League bonus points have now been added to the game. Here’s a game by game breakdown of how this map out for gameweek eight…

Liverpool 1 Man United 1
Gerrard 3, Welbeck 2, Hernandez 1

Few surprises here – we predicted the 2 for Javier Hernandez but won’t begrudge Danny Welbeck a single bonus point for his display and assist on United’s equaliser. Steven Gerrard’s maximum was a foregone conclusion here given his goal and contribution to the Liverpool display.

Chelsea 3 Everton 1
Terry 3, Sturridge 2, Lampard 1

John Terry, always a strong scorer in the EA PPI, not surprisingly comes out on top, having also got on the scoresheet in the 3-1 win. As we predicted, Daniel Sturridge and Frank Lampard also reaped reward for their goal and assist contributions respectively.

Wigan 1 Bolton 3
Eagles 3, K Davies 2, Diame 1

Chris Eagles was our top ICT Index performer of the week and was also top of the EA PPI rankings. Three bonus points will follow for the Bolton man but, while we predicted returns for Nigel Reo-Coker and David Ngog, it was Kevin Davies (despite his penalty miss) and Wigan’s Mohamed Diame who earned higher PPI totals.

QPR 1 Blackburn 1
Samba 3, Helguson 2, Lowe 1

Although honours were even at Loftus Road, our prediction based on our ICT figures fared well, with Blackburn’s Chris Samba picking up a strong EA PPI total – the third highest in the gameweek. QPR’s scorer Heidar Helguson ranked second in this match, with Blackburn’s Jason Lowe set for a single bonus point for his PPI tally.

Man City 4 Aston Villa 1
Balotelli 3, Johnson 2, Kompany 1

Mario Balotelli earned the top PPI total in this match for his acrobatic opener, with Adam Johnson’s goal and assist earning the winger number two spot. Vincent Kompany demonstrated his newfound threat from set-pieces by claiming a goal- enough to earn him the single bonus point.

Norwich City 3 Swansea 1
Pilkington 3, Martin 2, Barnett 1

With a brace of goals, Anthony Pilkington was amongst the top ICT and EA PPI performers this weekend and it’s no surprise to see him claim the three bonus from this one. We predicted Russell Martin for a strong PPI, but didn’t see Leon Barnett’s single bonus point coming – he continues to score heavily in EA PPI terms and remains a bonus darling as a result. He just edged out our prediction for the remaining bonus – Bradley Johnson.

Stoke 2 Fulham 0
Walters 3, Delap 2, Etherington 1

As expected, Jon Walters collected the top EA PPI score from this home win, with Rory Delap ranking second and Matt Etherington, with two assists, coming in third. Andy Wilkinson was Stoke’s top defensive performer, sharing a PPI score with both Jermaine Pennant and Asmir Begovic.

West Brom 2 Wolves 0
Brunt 3, Foster & Reid 2

Chris Brunt picks up his first bonus points of the season with a top ranking EA PPI display in the local derby victory for the Baggies. Ben Foster was the top rated keeper in both the ICT Index and EA PPI rankings and, subsequently, he fetched the two bonus here; while we predicted Peter Odemwingie for the single bonus, it turns out that Steven Reid collected an identical PPI to Foster and will share two bonus points. Billy Jones came in next on the PPI rankings but was denied a bonus by that share.

Arsenal 2 Sunderland 1
Van Persie 3, Koscielny 2, Larsson 1

Robin Van Persie was amongst the top five PPI performers in the gameweek and dominated this match to collect the inevitable maximum bonus. Few would have seen Laurent Koscielny’s PPI score of 22 coming however; that’s going to earn him two bonus points with Sunderland’s scorer, Seb Larsson, picking up a single bonus as expected.

Newcastle 2 Tottenham 2
Ba & Taylor & Van der Vaart 3

We’ve a share at the top of the PPI rankings in this match with both Demba Ba and Rafael Van der Vaart set to earn 3 bonus points for their 22 point totals. Jonas Gutierrez has to make do with a single bonus for his display then, although the PPI scores from this match are still under review with the assist for Shola Ameobi’s goal seemingly awarded to Yohan Cabaye rather than Ryan Taylor.

*Edit* As indicated, this match was reviewed and, with the award of the assist to Ryan Taylor, he tied with Ba and Van der Vaart at the top of the PPI. The three bonus points were therefore shared between all three players.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

      How do you get bold type. All formatting disappears when I do it.

      Weakest points in team SWP and Ward imo. Got tough matche coming. Plenty of cheap mids at moment. Pilks, Larson, Walters etc. Ward > Shawx also good Stoke defence in home games best value - only problem is rotation now most are fit.

    Guys, appreciate some early transfer advice on my team, providing no-one picks up any injuries and suspensions during the week:

    Given (Vorm)
    Senderos Boswingwa Kompany Simpson (Brown)
    SWP Silva Nani (Dyer) (Moses)
    RvP Adebayor Suarez

    I have two free transfers.

    I’m thinking Senderos and SWP to Enrique and Ramsey (Providing Ramsey is fit)? Good moves?

    Anyone think of any other options? I was thinking about Gerrard but I’m unsure about him and also thought about Mata would mean getting rid of Nani this week though!

    I'm looking at City's fixtures and thinking that the likes of Silva, Nasri and Aguero could all EASILY be rested for their next 2 prem home games against Wolves and Newcastle. Both fixtures have potentially vital CL games just 4 and 3 days later respectively. I don't think I could handle it again if Silva and Nasri got rested. I think until u hear otherwise u stick with ur players and do what u normally would and probably captain them too. The damage they could do to u if u don't have them captain or on ur bench is probably worse than captaining them and getting 2 points as a majority of people would have done the same anyway. Unless there's a good captain option like RVP this week for example, in that case I would play them atleast unless confirmed out or benched.

    Having just played my wc, a haul of 57 pts masks what was in reality a missed opportunity for me. Having tinkered so much with my team I was left reeling from swapping out the likes of Walters and Adebayor for Petrov and Suarez (is it just me or is Suarez flattering to deceive this season?) Like many I also fell foul of the Ramsey trap, but had my get out of jail card courtesy of RVP!

    So, to gameweek 9 and I am currently deliberating how to accommodate Gerrard in to my team. My current line up is:

    Begovic
    Vorm
    Simpson
    Taylor
    Enrique
    Bosingwa
    Kompany
    Ramsey
    Nani
    Petrov
    N Dyer
    Silva
    Suarez
    Sturridge
    RVP

    I am currently considering:

    A) Nani > Gerrard
    B) Ramsey & Petrov > Gerrard & Toite
    C) Stick to plan A and don’t make any transfers this week and take 2 in to GW 10.

    Any help or advice on the above greatly appreciated.

      Same wildcard same Ramsey trap for me, I'm hanging on as injury is said to be minor. With potentially great fixtures after Chelsea.

      I was saved by RvP too.

      Next 3 fixtures look very tasty for L'pool especially with no European distraction and risk of rotation so I can see your thinking on Stevie G.

      I like B) as I actually thought Ramsey was quite poor vs Spurs aside from his goal so no guarantee he'll return after injury.

      A) a possibility but having been rested vs. L'pool Nani could tear it up in the next few weeks so hang on.

      Thanks all for your responses. I am trying to resist the knee jerk.....but, a 4th option has unfolded before my eyes which looks sorely tempting:

      Out:
      Bosingwa
      Petrov
      Ramsey

      In:
      Warnock
      Eagles
      Gerrard

      8pt hit, but with price rises likely could be a one time opportunity.

      YES/NO?

        That would be a brave brave call. Is Eagles nailed on this season? Bolton do have a decent run coming up admittedly.

        My gut would be to go with your original shout of getting gerrard in but warnock and eagles aren't worth an 8 point hit in my opinion.

        Stick with one of your original ideas.

    I don’t like my team. At all. How about this for a WC team:
    Begovic Vorm
    Kompany Enrique Warnock N.Taylor Simpson
    VdV Nani Petrov Sinclair Moses
    RVP Aguero Sturridge

    Would basically be swapping:
    Given-> Begovic
    Ruddy -> Vorm
    Boswinga -> Warnock
    Mata -> VdV
    Arteta -> Nani
    Dyer -> Sinclair
    Rooney -> RvP
    Suarez -> Strurridge

      Keep Bos, Mata and Suarez

      Forget Nani and Kompany ( This week at least )

      Work in Silva

      My Front line if I had a WC would be RVP Suarez and Sturridge

      Then VDV Mata Silva Petrov

      Then Bos, Enrique Shawcross

      Then Begovic and Vorm

    YESOT - I too was looking at VP - Aguero next week and getting him back in my WC although I am worried about paying the extra I bought him for 11.9 and will likely sell for 12.0 but if i need to pay 12.2 to get him back I could struggle with my WC funds. Every 0.1 counts right now as my team value is shocking compared to most due to the lack of Taylors/Bosingwa/Jones/Rooney/Young ect tha coupled with having Holt/Nzog/Cole/Moses money is tight.

      Holt/Nzog/cole/moses?? Ouch KoL! Bet you can't wait to play that Wildcard. I was saved by RvP (c) at the weekend but apart from the keeper I don't think a single other Arse player has any sort of form at the moment.

      That said, after City's poor start in the Champs League Mancini could be even more likely to rest his big names in Prem so stick with RvP for the foreseeable I reckon.

        I've got rid of 3 out of the 4 with a few hits the WC will be to get in some united coverage (had none all season) and get in stoke defs.

        I'll need to check the fixturelist and see where/if city are playing midweek before the wolves game and judge it by that and mancinis words but ASguero is something s else and could tear wolves a new one.

        Al-Habsi, Moses, Kompany, Olsson

        Got two free transfers and going probably Taarabt->Petrov also. I'm more to Suarez, but I might be facing problems with money on GW10. As for my plans Mata would need to rise 0.1 and Nani stay unchanged.

    I'm not buying all this nani into gerrard talk. Or Nani out at all?? He normally carries good home form and he has shown he can do the damage against the bigger teams this season (chelsea, arsenal and manchester city in the community shield too).

      Not keen on Gerrard. He needs to prove his form before it's worth shelling out 11mil I reckon. He's been a poor fantasy player for 1.5 seasons now. Suarez is ample attacking L'pool coverage for 1.5 cheaper. Add on Enrique for his bombing down the flanks and likelihood of 3 successive cleanies coming up, and that more than enough Scouse for me.

    Think that'd be somewhere near the bottom i'm afraid/delighted to inform you. 303k is more than 10% of the current players. Imagine most people started week one -- although i have a vague memory of their only being ~1.5 mil players.
