A strong run of upcoming fixtures sees Kyle Walker make a significant jump in our recently updated Watchlist rankings.

With clean sheet returns at an absolute minimum of late – a mere five have been recorded right across the board in the previous two Gameweeks – the hunt is on for defenders who can deliver at the attacking end of the field. There’s little doubt that Tottenham’s schedule affords Walker a better chance of returns than the majority of Fantasy defenders on offer right now.

Priced at 5.5 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Walker is not exactly a cut-price option but a goal, assist and 3 bonus points in his last three games highlight his strength going forward. With Harry Redknapp’s side in a rich vein of form, his ability to lend weight to their attacking ploys could be crucial, as Fantasy managers scratch around for points at the back.

Indeed, a look at the FPL points so far show Walker, with 31, is third-top for Spurs, behind only Rafael Van der Vaart and Emmanuel Adebayor and ahead of the likes of Luka Modric (30) and Gareth Bale (26). His points total for the season is just a couple behind both Jose Enrique and Jose Bosingwa, though while the pair have ownership of 27.8% and 26.5% respectively, Walker has remained well under the radar- so far, he’s been selected by a mere 2.5% of FPL managers.

With (QPR, ful, AVL, wba, BOL, sto) to come in the next six, then, the Fantasy potential is obvious – if injuries at the back can clear, Spurs may even surpass our expectations for clean sheets in that spell. Certainly, if they are to maintain the form that has seen them win five out of six games, Walker’s barnstorming right flank runs could prove pivotal as Redknapp’s side look to push on in their quest for a Champions League slot.

i like it, however i would defo bring Torres in, would bolster that forward line greatly, i brought him in today along with ramsey, BAE, and VDV, all long term decisions. Bit unsure about basri, i used nasri as my way in to buy torres funnily enough, cant stand all this city rotation uncertainty, i say get rid 🙂

Not good. You shouldn't have Nasri and Silver, they never play together so I would sell Nasri if I were you, possibly for VDV. Also arteta isn't doing as well as Ramsey who plays higher up, scores more points and is cheaper. Also de leat needs to go but you probably already know that, not particularly urgent. Also I think there is now an element of doubt with jones, all of United's Defense are back so rotation is beckoning. Overall I think you need a cheaper defense and more big hitters up front. Selling Rooney for Torres is kind of a sideways move, I think there are more pressing matters

Nasri could be a very frustrating player to own.

He's not a nailed on first starter, comes off the bench a bit though.

PPG can be a bit misleading though, it ignores the fact that a player has been benched some weeks and returned 0 points.

True, but I know I'd rather live with a player who plays as regularly as anyone on that team, and puts up nearly 6.5 points whenever they do, than someone like Moses you gives you a guaranteed 2 points every week 😉

Buuuut, he's got to keep producing at that rate in order to make up for the times he's benched. If he's benched one week, starts the next week but does nothing, then comes on for a one-point cameo the next, he suddenly looks like terrible value for 7.5m.

Better value than the likes of Walcott, Yaya, Modric- even Mata at this point- but the 6-6.5ers are starting to emerge now.... the like of Larsson, Walters, Murphy and Sinclair are all starting every week and averaging 4.6-5.1 PPG: if you work it out as points per week, i.e. include the games he takes no part in, Milner is in this bracket too, but 1-1.5m more expensive.

Well that's the thing isn't it? If he was a nailed on starter he'd just about be a must-have.

Haven't got him myself but can see the temptation... if I was tossing up between say, him and Modric, I'd probably lean towards Milner despite their respective starting chances. That 7.0-9.5 range is a dead zone.

          PPG means points per game

as long as he is under rotation threat it does not help if he has the best PGG in the whole game

            Thanks for the enlightenment.

Virtually every attacking player from City is under rotation threat - all you can do if try and pick the best value of each player when they DO play. When Milner plays, he's their second most productive midfielder behind Silva, and ahead of Nasri.

i just sold him out for profit
so far he only have 1 cleanie, we can pretty much said that he relia on attacking points to justify the ownership. If that is the way you would like to play with your team then i think its worth it. he is probably one of the top 3 attacking def (just consider att point). But for me i like my def to earn cleanie while getting some att point here and there. i have kompany, enrique, gabbidon, naylor and shawX, Krul and Begovic

i had him from the start so i did reap my .4m profit and trade him for for shawX
looking at his fixture its way better than CH
SC has NEW bol QPR BLA
while CH has ARS bla LIV WOL

we already know how tough is SC in Britannia

Hi Jackoff, how you going mate?
BBC Sport says he went off on 88 minutes with a calf injury?

He looked fine and seemed to just be time wasting.
Im not getting Aguero in until everything becomes clear, 11.2 is too much for a possible rotation risk especially when the likes of Rooney/RVP/Adebayor are nailed on almost every single game.
Suarez still has 2 good fixtures to come, after that he becomes Rooney or RVP, in goalscoring form and will be confident now so I expect a few over the next 2.
Would be part of a 4 point hit for me to get him in..not worth it for me.

I agree with the risk on Aguero mate. I can't afford Rooney, but have Ade and Sturridge at the moment. I brought Saurez in last week, but City are scoring for fun at the moment!
            4 vs Villa
            6 vs United
            5 vs Wolves.....
I'd like to think that as Aguero was rested, and Dzeko played in midweek that he's get some gametime in before the Villareal game...?
Who do you think will play in the city line-up mate?

He will start this weekend, i dont doubt that..but long-term i dont want a rotation risk at 11.2
He will probably get 60 odd minutes depending on the score.
As i said, Rooney or RVP or both for me as far as expensive forwards are concerned.
The thing with City scoring so much is that everyones scoring goals, Dzeko/Balo/Milner/Nasri/Silva/Aguero are all seemingly sharing points..whereas RVP is scoring most of Arsenals goals, and Rooney and Nani are the main guys for United

That's a good point with the points sharing at City. I think you're right that Aguero will play, can't see Mancini letting him go a week and a half with no gametime then throwing him in for the big CL game.
I'll certainly be looking to reshuffle for RVP and Rooney after this weekend.

There was a tweet saying: Turnbull, Ivanovic, Alex, Luiz, Bertrand, Romeu, McEachran, Malouda, Lukaku, Kalou, Anelka. Carling Cup side.

It is pretty safe to assume that this team will not play come the weekend.

I.e. Bosingwa to start on RB

But will Chelsea keep a clean sheet vs Arsenal?

Probably Enrique - no way in hell Chelsea keep a CS against Arsenal, so you'd be banking on attacking points. West Brom hardly guaranteed to score.

Bookmakers disagree with you, and reckon its a slightly bigger chance of Chelsea keeping a clean sheet than Liverpool this weekend.

Your comment is - at best - poor advice.

Well good for the bookmakers then. History says that Chelsea couldn't keep a chean sheet at home against Norwich, West Brom, Everton, even Swansea scored against them. Can't see how they're keeping one agaisnt Arsenal.

Call that poor advice if you like.

You equal what the bookies calculate to a 38% chance as "no chance in hell". I think that is a drastic overstatement.

Concerning the two players though, I am not sure any of them are justifying their price tags - budget or not.

I think Arsenal will score, but I can definitely see a way that they dont. The teams that you mentioned above force their way into the goal. Arsenal are a team that likes to buildup, retain possession, and walk it in. If things arent going their way, they arent the type of team that know how to score ugly goals. Back when Bendtner was their, they had the odd ugly goal at games end with crosses into the big Dane. That side is gone now. Definitely possible they dont score, though I dont think probable. Not to mention if Chelsea can play with 11 men, it will seem to their defenders as if they have 13 on the field this weekend.

All 3 have a good chance, Stoke and Newcastle will probably be 0-0 or 1-0
you never know what Liverpool will turn up.
Id say Stoke are the most likely though, especially as they are the home team. Newcastle or Liverpool is a coin toss IMO

        +1
Stoke have conceded one goal at home all season.
On that form, you'd have to say they're probably the best shot of a CS of those three.
