A strong run of upcoming fixtures sees Kyle Walker make a significant jump in our recently updated Watchlist rankings.

With clean sheet returns at an absolute minimum of late – a mere five have been recorded right across the board in the previous two Gameweeks – the hunt is on for defenders who can deliver at the attacking end of the field. There’s little doubt that Tottenham’s schedule affords Walker a better chance of returns than the majority of Fantasy defenders on offer right now.

Priced at 5.5 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Walker is not exactly a cut-price option but a goal, assist and 3 bonus points in his last three games highlight his strength going forward. With Harry Redknapp’s side in a rich vein of form, his ability to lend weight to their attacking ploys could be crucial, as Fantasy managers scratch around for points at the back.

Indeed, a look at the FPL points so far show Walker, with 31, is third-top for Spurs, behind only Rafael Van der Vaart and Emmanuel Adebayor and ahead of the likes of Luka Modric (30) and Gareth Bale (26). His points total for the season is just a couple behind both Jose Enrique and Jose Bosingwa, though while the pair have ownership of 27.8% and 26.5% respectively, Walker has remained well under the radar- so far, he’s been selected by a mere 2.5% of FPL managers.

With (QPR, ful, AVL, wba, BOL, sto) to come in the next six, then, the Fantasy potential is obvious – if injuries at the back can clear, Spurs may even surpass our expectations for clean sheets in that spell. Certainly, if they are to maintain the form that has seen them win five out of six games, Walker’s barnstorming right flank runs could prove pivotal as Redknapp’s side look to push on in their quest for a Champions League slot.

    Hi guys,

    Vorm (Krul)
    Naylor Simpson Kompany Enrique (Ward)
VDV (C) Silva (VC) Murphy (Brunt Barton)
    Suarez Rooney Adebayor

    0.6 in the bank

    1) VDV or Silva for captain?
    2) Subs alright?
    3) Any major flaws? Already took a 4 pt hit to get VDV in.

    Thanks guys. 🙂

      1. VDV el capitano. I imagine quite a few will be worried about Silva gametime this weekend.

      2. Subs look spot on. Brunt v Murphy? FUL don't do much away and possibly Brunt might hold an advantage of being the home boy.

      3. The only flaw is two exp defenders-ideally you'd like Nani or a Mata in there as well. Otherwise, a well balanced and thought out team.

      Good luck! 🙂

Yeah, Murphy's brought me absolutely nothing and I can't be keener to get him and Barton out!

I did Young-> VDV and Bosingwa-> Kompany on Saturday itself, so was just hoping I didn't make any mistakes!

Thanks mate. Your reassurance is much appreciated!

I took a huge punt last week..his form late last year was brilliant and he was dangerous in his previous two (and even more so against Norwich)
By the way, im just saying why, i know there are plenty more why-nots.
If he outscores Nani over the next 2 weeks I will be happy, they are at 2 all at the moment so there is nothing in it 😉

If he scores nothing over the next 2 then so be it, lesson learnt, will be sold for Nani
If he gets a an assist/goal over the next 2, take the points and sell for Nani.

The fear is that he will get limited gametime particulalry as City will look to prioritse the Villareal game. So if he does nothing and is subbed on 60 mins, you end up with a 4 pts. I'm sticking with VDV as he's guaranteed to play.

Bosingwa has 4 more points than Taylor and that is with 3 less clean sheets and a red card. If you are paying the price for him, you must play him. If he is a rotation risk on your team, you may as well sell him and upgrade elswhere.Simpson also has 33 points and that is with 3 more clean sheets as well. I dont think Swansea nor Newcastle will keep up their defensive records, even at home, but I do feel that Chelsea will come by clean sheets, it can only get better for Bosingwa in terms of PPG. If have him, play him every game. Just my 2 cents.

The TOT/EVE game might now be re-arranged for a dgw that might take place sooner rather than later.
Sturridge scored again and made a difference when he came on.
Huth at fb-will he be there for Sat? Or does it mean that Wilko will more than likely play at the weekend?

but just to be consistent, i will be playing ward ahead of R Martin and Simpson - other 2 defenders are Enrique and Walker. Man City are due a spoiler and a shutout. Have a feeling about a balotelli red card early. that can close it out.

Don't know why everyone is worried about Nani and Silva. Neither played in the cup so they looked nailed on for the weekend. No reason to believe Nani will be needed next week mid week either.

    Bosingwa to Wilkinson
    Bannan to Allen
    Moses to Larsson
    Nani to VDV
    Jarvis to Ramsey
    Suarez to Aguero
    Sturridge to Agbonlahor

      No.No

Larsson on 4 yellows / ManU up next
Wilko - is he first choice?
Sturridge scored again last night / up vs a shaky Ars def this week
      Agbon has SUN(a)

      Hmmm...50-50.

Wouldn't get rid of Nani, Suarez or Sturridge. Would get rid of Bos, Bannan, Moses, Jarvis.

You are on the borderline. Try to get VDV and The Milkman for Jarvis/Moses/Bannan depending on your cashflow/free trades situation.

like Christina just said, Larsson is on 4 yellows. one more (against Man U) and it's suspension time.

double up on TOT? i'd rather double up on MCI.
