For those Fantasy managers who captained Luis Suarez last weekend, there was a bitter irony to the Uruguayan’s brace at the Britannia last night…

Liverpool’s game with Norwich saw Suarez manage double figure goal attempts but a defiant display by John Ruddy in the visitors’ goal, combined with some wayward finishing, left him goalless

Having netted the second, and decisive, goal of the Carling Cup win, Suarez was removed by Kenny Dalglish with four minutes left on the clock. Reports suggest he left the field limping – this was confirmed by Dalglish in the post-match press conference…

“He got kicked right at the end of the first half. He turned Jonathan Woodgate. He made contact with him but he tried to stay on his feet to take the chance. That’s where he hurt his leg. That just emphasises what we say about the wee man. He had the opportunity to stay on his feet and did.”

While at present there’s no reason to suggest Suarez will miss out on this weekend’s trip to West Brom, Fantasy managers are clearly having second thoughts about him right now, regardless of a possible injury doubt. So far this week, he’s been transferred out by over 35,000 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers, the most of any forward in the game, though he’s still the second most-owned forward, second only to Wayne Rooney.

With a match at home to Swansea in gameweek 11, there is some merit in retaining Suarez, particularly given the poor form of Brendan Rodgers’ side on the road. The following two gameweeks see Liverpool face Chelsea and Man City, however, and many will perhaps be planning an exit strategy at this point.

Last night’s “knock” could well be similar to the situation involving Arsenal’s Thomas Vermaelen – a muscular problem amounting to nothing more than cramp. Certainly Suarez appeared to be in good spirits as Liverpool saw out the final minutes of last night’s tie, but Fantasy managers will be waiting on more news from Anfield in the next 24-hours before making decisions ahead of Saturday’s deadline.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Mornining All,
Can you have a look at this guys, its driving me mad the transfers this week. The last two weeks have been awful for me and I really would appreciate some help.

    Vorn-Given
    Simpson-Kompany-Bosingwa-Enrique-DeLaet
    Petrov-Silva-Ramsey-Nani-Ferguson
    Suarez-Adebayor-Rooney

I have two free transfers was thinking DeLaet>Wikinson Nani>VDV? but would love some alternative feedback. Cheers guys.

With £0.9m in the bank, could be a different story.

Can you afford Shawcross instead of Wilkinson? Or Assou-Ekotto? If so, I'd probably do that and leave Wilkinson alone - no goal threat whatsoever.

                Hmmm close.

I'm just not a big fan of Wilkinson but they're decent transfers nonetheless.

Alternatively, just Nani --> VDV and save 2 for next week and you can figure out what to do with De Laet then ... I don't think he;s going down this week but I can't get onto FISO at work

I'd do Shawcross instead of Wilkinson if you've got extra cash. Wilko's place will always be under threat from Huth.

Do Nani>VdV as you have Rooney.

I don't have any City strikers and it's concerning me. Something to consider last minute on Saturday!

Hmm tough one, like the De Laet transfer but I dunno if i'd get rid of Nani.
Alternatively you could go Bos > Wilko and Ramsey/Petrov > VDV..unsure of funds but So De Laet and Nani > VDV and Wilko or Bosingwa and Petrov/Ramsey > Wilko and VDV..Im not saying id prefer the latter, just throwing up options!

So would it be Petrov/Bosingwa and Given for VDV/Wilkinson and ??
Im thinking Petrov wont get anything away to a solid Swansea defence, Bosingwa is against Arsenal so he may not either, VDV seems a must and keeps rising and rising against QPR at home and Wilkinson was rested yesterday so should start this w/e
It could very well be worth it as i'd favour VDV to earn the 4 points back by himself, but it is a difficult one really..

I stayed up late to watch the match (was interseted to see Walters) - and he had a good game.

Suarez did hobble off but to be honest it didnt look too bad.

King Kenny was heaping praise on him......

I think he will start.... but Q is who will be up front with him....

I know Aguero has Villareal next week but I don't really know where the "he will not start" train has come from.

The only matches he has not started in the PL this season from what I can tell are:

    1) Swansea (h) - First game of the season, he'd barely signed for the club
    2) Villa (h) - Out injured

    I don't think he'll play the 90 minutes but I think he'll play the first 65 ... that's enough for me ... Aguero, here's the armband, sir.

I keep contemplating getting Aguero in for Rooney. It would be for a four point hit as I already did SWP->VDV this week. I am certain he will start and I am very worried that the score could be five or six again. I've got Silva as captain but Aguero has more scoring potential.

      Pros
      Rooney out of form
Man U tough fixture away at Everton and out of form
Citeh flying and will create hundreds of chances

      Cons
      Costs 4 points
Man U have good fixtures after next week
Rooney has high ownership so I could be screwed if he starts banging em in and I don't have him.

      I just can't decide!

RVP and Sturridge. Could do Bos -> someone cheap and then Sturridge -> Balotelli but then that's 8 point hit territory. Don't want to do RVP -> Aguero as he is in better form than Rooney.

Probably going to have to leave it this week I'd suggest. You can do Rooney>Aguero this week and then back to Rooney the next week. A few people are doing that with RVP. Seems like needless transfers, but if it works then you'll have a big smile 😀

You might want to roll over the transfer to do Suarez -> Adebayor and Mata -> Nani next week if you consider Spurs and Man U fixtures appealing enough to double down.

That's a very good suggestion. I was planning to get Suarez out for Adebayor after the Swansea fixture anyway. Is Nani a guaranteed starter with Valencia back?

SAF did say Valencia is not 100% yet. But probably best to see the line-up for the Champions League game mid-week next week to assess Nani's chances of starting.

Sorry lost on last page Considering Rooney and Lampard -> Aguero and VDV and captain VDV for a 4 pter? Worth it or too risky because of possible rotation risk? Just concerned Rooney is starting one of those phases like last year where he plays v deep and scores naff all.

    Hi guys
I have Surez from the begining of the season and will keep him whole season, whatever he'll play this week or none

Suarez dont have to play Champions League, he plays every game and at his price, he's season keeper

      Ferguson -- > Pilkington

Either of those are pretty solid

Keep your eye on Saha for Evertons good run (and possible DGW soon). Could fill that third striker slot nicely and IF he stays fit could get big returns.

    Given (Vorm)
    Kompany, Simpson, NTaylor (Brown, Bosingwa)
    VDV(vc), Silva, Ramsey, Cabaye (Dyer)
    Aguero(c), Suarez, Adebayor

    1 free, 1.2 in bank

    - Should I start Brown or Bosingwa ahead of NTaylor?
    - Should I start Dyer ahead of Cabaye or Ramsey?
    - Should I hold onto my free transfer?

I could be wrong, but think that most of them are centre backs who are out - Dawson, King & Gallas .... Can't see Redknapp chopping and changing his full backs too much - think they're set for a good few weeks at least

I just couldnt justify having Torres regardless of form, Sturridge is much cheaper and has been in just as good/better form.
Especially considering it can get you Nani for Sinclair or RVP/Rooney/Aguero for Suarez/Adebayor
But..I guess by looking at your name, you strongly disagree

I think captaining him could pay off extremely well..however it is a risk when you have VDV or Silva to captain.
