A host of early morning press conferences gives us plenty to ponder ahead of the weekend’s fixtures. Ashley Young is a doubt for United, Luis Suarez is getting treatment for a knock sustained at Stoke, while Tottenham’s injury woes appear to be easing up:

Sir Alex Ferguson’s morning press conference brought the news that Ashley Young is a doubt for tomorrow’s game with Everton. With the game at Goodison a twelve o’clock kick-off, Fantasy managers should have the team sheets before tomorrow morning’s 11.30 deadline, though. According to the United boss:

Ashley Young has got a toe injury. It’s nothing serious … hopefully we have a strong enough squad for tomorrow.

Everton have confirmed both Tim Cahill and Phil Neville are out of tomorrow’s clash. David Moyes revealed he is weighing up whether to play Louis Saha after the Frenchman played from the start to the end of extra time in the Toffees midweek Carling Cup fixture with Chelsea:

I thought it was Louis’ best game. I think the goal against Fulham has given him confidence. I think the problem we have got now is that Louis has injuries he has to look after and he’s played 120 minutes which ideally we wouldn’t have liked him to do. So again that has an effect on team selection and what we do for this game.

Kenny Dalglish was non-committal on the availability of Luis Suarez ahead of tomorrow evening’s trip to the Hawthorns. The Uruguayan limped off at Stoke in midweek, having bagged a brace in the 2-1 win at the Britannia. When quizzed on his star striker’s availability for the game with West Brom, the Liverpool boss would only say:

He’s had a bit of treatment so we’ll see how is. He’s had a tough time recently, so we’ll see how he is tomorrow.

Harry Redknapp gave an update on the fitness situation at Tottenham this morning. Sandro, William Gallas, Ledley King and Steven Pienaar are all in the reckoning for Sunday’s home derby against QPR. Harry went on to say:

William trained all week and will train again tomorrow. He hasn’t played a game since last season and we have to see how he is. He could be involved. Ledley’s improving and we’ll wait to see how he is tomorrow. It doesn’t look like he’s far away. Sandro’s had another scan, it looks okay and he feels okay. Steven is on the way back, which is good. He feels a lot better.

Owen Coyle confirmed this morning that on-loan Man City defender Dedryk Boyata will sidelined for around six weeks with ankle ligament damage. Boyata had established himself as the regular right-back for Bolton in recent weeks but his absence should afford Gretar Steinsson another chance.

Alex McLeish has not ruled out extending Barry Bannan’s club suspension beyond this weekend. The young Scot has been banned from participation while the club investigates his arrest amid allegations of drink driving and, as Big Eck explained yesterday:

We are not pre-judging anything. We have to have discipline. We have to have a mutual respect, we’re in the professional world. And there have to be certain ground rules. We will have to wait and see with Barry but he’s not available this weekend.

Thomas Vermaelen will return to Arsenal’s squad tomorrow, though may have to be content with a bench role. Arsene Wenger admitted the Belgian’s fitness is still “little bit short“ with Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker likely to keep their places at the heart of the Gunners back-four for the trip to Chelsea. Kieran Gibbs is still sidelined with a stomach muscle problem, while Carl Jenkinson has an outside chance of featuring.

Steven Taylor could be available for Newcastle’s trip to Stoke on Monday, despite suffering a broken nose. The centre half picked up the injury in last week’s match with Wigan and has since had an operation to alleviate the problem. He is expected to wear a protective mask for the Britannia clash, while Alan Pardew will make a late decision on the fitness of Cheik Tiote, with the Ivorian suffering a knee problem in the same game.

Afternoon all. Getting close to crunch time for my wildcard (sorry to have tortured so many of you already) - and really need to make a final decision on either Silva or Aguero. Options below. Would love an opinion if you've got time? (have got RvP)
    A) Silva, Walters, Sturridge
    B) Petrov, Ramsey, Aguero

    Hello

    Please can you RMT?

    Vorm (Given)

    Kompany, Simpson, Bosingwa (Ward, Gabbidon)

    Silva, Petrov, VDV, Dyer (Moses)

    Rooney, RVP, Adebayor

I have one free transfer and 0.3m in the bank.

I was thinking Bosingwa to either shawcross, walker or Richards?

    Or ward to wilkinson?

    Thanks

    Silva, VDV, Walters, Petrov (Dyer)
    RVP, Suarez, Sturridge

Bench worries me as does no City striker.....

I agree - he has the perfect 2 games coming up to prove my right but if he doesnt play the weekend will be gutted.

I can just see a coupel of goals for Super Mario on the horizon and think he will outscore Suarez over the next 5 GWs

I agree with going for Balotelli. He's a man on the up. Also, next month Bosnia have their playoffs with Portugal during the international break, which will see Dzeko being milked, whilst Balotelli probably won't even have to leave Manchester. So Balotelli will have quite a bit of game time over next for GWs, imo.

            Sturridge is just fine.

But, until Suarez picked up a knack I had 2 free transfers and a team I liked so a chance to either do nothing or have a bit of fun - Bendtner was said fun.

Might still find a way to get him in somehow. I'd like to board the Bendybus once more.

How can you offload a defender that has only conceded 6 goals so far for another who's been coneding week in, week out?

If you do so, you're a questionable FPL manager tbh. Sorry!

    Ruddy (Given)
Lescott | Enrique | Brown (Bosingwa | Simpson)
VDV (c) | Silva (vc) | Petrov | Moses (Fox)
    RvP | Adebayor | Suarez

    Any glaring errors?

Yeah, I've got him as first sub in case Suarez (inj) or Silva (rest) don't play, but maybe I should start him.

    Afternoon Gents,

I'd like to be rid of Ward at 4.7, any decent replacement?

I've got 2 Freebies so can always downgrade elsewhere for some extra funds.

I have Dyer who is home to Bolton. I think I should play him, but have to sacrifice a big name as a result, ans it's either Roo or RVP. What do you think? Go for it? Hold on the big names? But if I'm not playing Dyer against the side that has conceded 24 goals in 9 games, when should I do?

You are asking to bench RVP or Rooney instead of Dyer? Good choice, go for it and don't forget to captain him.

      Bench Dyer ....

A £4.5m midfielder is there to come in if you have injuries/suspensions/another low to midrange player has a tough fixture. NOT to replace RVP or Rooney

Any thoughts on a Ruddy/Vorm rotation? I appreciate they are both budget but I’m desperate to save £0.9m and I currently have both Given and Warnock. Want to stop doubling on the AV defence and this way I can do both my objectives in one move. Both play for pretty bad teams though…

I'm probably on cuckoo land even thinking about it.
