A host of early morning press conferences gives us plenty to ponder ahead of the weekend’s fixtures. Ashley Young is a doubt for United, Luis Suarez is getting treatment for a knock sustained at Stoke, while Tottenham’s injury woes appear to be easing up:

Sir Alex Ferguson’s morning press conference brought the news that Ashley Young is a doubt for tomorrow’s game with Everton. With the game at Goodison a twelve o’clock kick-off, Fantasy managers should have the team sheets before tomorrow morning’s 11.30 deadline, though. According to the United boss:

Ashley Young has got a toe injury. It’s nothing serious … hopefully we have a strong enough squad for tomorrow.

Everton have confirmed both Tim Cahill and Phil Neville are out of tomorrow’s clash. David Moyes revealed he is weighing up whether to play Louis Saha after the Frenchman played from the start to the end of extra time in the Toffees midweek Carling Cup fixture with Chelsea:

I thought it was Louis’ best game. I think the goal against Fulham has given him confidence. I think the problem we have got now is that Louis has injuries he has to look after and he’s played 120 minutes which ideally we wouldn’t have liked him to do. So again that has an effect on team selection and what we do for this game.

Kenny Dalglish was non-committal on the availability of Luis Suarez ahead of tomorrow evening’s trip to the Hawthorns. The Uruguayan limped off at Stoke in midweek, having bagged a brace in the 2-1 win at the Britannia. When quizzed on his star striker’s availability for the game with West Brom, the Liverpool boss would only say:

He’s had a bit of treatment so we’ll see how is. He’s had a tough time recently, so we’ll see how he is tomorrow.

Harry Redknapp gave an update on the fitness situation at Tottenham this morning. Sandro, William Gallas, Ledley King and Steven Pienaar are all in the reckoning for Sunday’s home derby against QPR. Harry went on to say:

William trained all week and will train again tomorrow. He hasn’t played a game since last season and we have to see how he is. He could be involved. Ledley’s improving and we’ll wait to see how he is tomorrow. It doesn’t look like he’s far away. Sandro’s had another scan, it looks okay and he feels okay. Steven is on the way back, which is good. He feels a lot better.

Owen Coyle confirmed this morning that on-loan Man City defender Dedryk Boyata will sidelined for around six weeks with ankle ligament damage. Boyata had established himself as the regular right-back for Bolton in recent weeks but his absence should afford Gretar Steinsson another chance.

Alex McLeish has not ruled out extending Barry Bannan’s club suspension beyond this weekend. The young Scot has been banned from participation while the club investigates his arrest amid allegations of drink driving and, as Big Eck explained yesterday:

We are not pre-judging anything. We have to have discipline. We have to have a mutual respect, we’re in the professional world. And there have to be certain ground rules. We will have to wait and see with Barry but he’s not available this weekend.

Thomas Vermaelen will return to Arsenal’s squad tomorrow, though may have to be content with a bench role. Arsene Wenger admitted the Belgian’s fitness is still “little bit short“ with Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker likely to keep their places at the heart of the Gunners back-four for the trip to Chelsea. Kieran Gibbs is still sidelined with a stomach muscle problem, while Carl Jenkinson has an outside chance of featuring.

Steven Taylor could be available for Newcastle’s trip to Stoke on Monday, despite suffering a broken nose. The centre half picked up the injury in last week’s match with Wigan and has since had an operation to alleviate the problem. He is expected to wear a protective mask for the Britannia clash, while Alan Pardew will make a late decision on the fitness of Cheik Tiote, with the Ivorian suffering a knee problem in the same game.

Stuff it, I'm leaving Bosingwa in for now. Will want to play him against Blackburn next week anyway.

Going to do Naylor to Wilkinson with my other free. Gives me Stoke cover defensively at cheap price. Will prob take Bosingwa out for Man City defender after GW11.

Similar thinking re: Boswinga. He looks good for every second week at the moment (bla in 11, WOL in 13) but that's just not enough for a £6m+ defender. I already have Kompany though so don;t think I'll be going the Citeh route

No desire to keep him, actually, but I have Vorm already so no need to double up on Swansea defence.

        My def would be:
        Vorm, Hennessey
        Wilkinson, Saylor, Bosingwa, Enrique, McAuley

I could live with that for next 2 weeks

    Vorm - Ruddy

Brown, Kompany, Shawcross, Evans and Enrique

Ferguson :), VDV, Silva, Larsson and Dyer

    Rooney, RVP and Adeb

Sessegnon or Walters for the next few weeks. Very little in the fixures for the next 6 (sunderland by a whisker), walters probably higher up the pitch, same price, both on penalties?

        Away - MUN, WOL

        Stoke
Home - NEW, QPR, BLA TOT

Yeah, I think I agree that there's nothing I desperately need to change, well...not for a hit anyway. Got nothing in the bank so I'll need to look at players 4.7 and under to replace Mikel, but there's nothing that catches my eye at that price. I'm considering replacing Suarez with either Sturridge or Balotelli so that would free up some cash for a Mikel transfer at some point.

Balotelli owned by 2.7%... Gained 24 points in last three games... Great potential for those playing catch up (I'm trying to justify this decision to myself...)

As have I. To be honest, I think it's my heart ruling my head with him. City's rotation policy is always a headache with strikers but I love the guy. He's an absolute headcase and football needs characters like him, plus he's on fire at the moment.

I'm a United fan, by the way.

There is always a chance, especially if Mancini rests Silva and Aguero. But I think theill both play and take an early shower, after getting 2-0 ahead

Nothing is definite but there's no reason to suspect he won't at least play in an advanced role, which might be wide. Plus he's on pens regardless of his starting position.

Regarding the Man City rotation.. I've checked and Aguero and Silva played in both the Wigan and Everton games before Napoli and Bayern.. Both didn't play against Aston Villa before the Villareal game but is this more representative than the previous 2 pre cl games? Any thoughts?

Its tough to talk about rotation regarding Aguero, since he has not been fit for all of the games, like the one he missed before Villareal he was injured.

7 or 8 changes for City. Right lads, who's keeping their place? Maybe the fullbacks? De Jong? Nasri? Johnson?

I think It might be that both Zabaleta and Kolarov keep their places, one of Nasri and Johnson in there too, and Dzeko to start as well. with Balo and Aguero playing half of the game, Silva to play as well and getting subbed by Barry at 69 min,
