With a favourable run of fixtures and five wins from six games, Tottenham look likely to receive some strong Fantasy investment over the upcoming weeks. In particular, two players stand head and shoulders above the rest- Rafael Van der Vaart and Emmanuel Adebayor.

Van der Vaart is, arguably, the form Fantasy Premier League (FPL) player right now. The Dutchman has scored in each of his last four games, netting five times in total and returned 11 bonus points in that previous quartet of fixtures, making him top-scoring player for bonus so far this season. Adebayor’s arrival on loan from Man City has proved a shrewd piece of business by Harry Redknapp and, after six games, has 3 goals, 4 assists and 6 bonus points to his name already.

In this latest Members article, we delve into our own ICT Index and Opta stats to analyse the pair’s performances for the season so far to aid those weighing up the cost and benefits of acquiring their talent ahead of Gameweek 10…

Noone considering Bale for the next few weeks considering their fixtures?

Could be a nice, cheapish differential.

But Bale is capable of going points mental, he could destroy some of the full-backs he is coming up against and rake in the points. The players you mentioned are consistent but can't see them getting huge scores.

If you really need to take a punt and are a fair way behind in your league I think it's a good option for the next few weeks.

Better a steady stream of points week in week out than an 18pts game every six to eight weeks and 1 or 2 pts every other game

I wouldn't. He's not been playing very well lately, just not really getting his teeth into games. Modric, for similar money, has been much better value. In saying that, Bale has significantly more chance of a big GW or run of them than Moddy. But I play safe with VDV and Ade.

I think if Messi played in the EPL he would get rotated more, since he would be not carried on pillows like players do in la liga. So he would go into the same conversation with Agueros, Rooneys,RVPs.

Which would you prefer for the medium future: Cleverley or Ramsey?

There doesn't appear to be much between them, taking into account their cost, form and fixtures.

Cleverley is a good player in real life but he seems to play pretty deep, so maybe not so good in FPL? E.g. when United scored 8 vs Arsenal he didn't get\any goals or assists. Does Ramsey play an advanced role?

Ramsay! Cleverly is playing very deep for united, at least he was in the first games hes getting under 1 key pass and rarely taking on a shot, compared to Ramsay who is very forward and involved in everything Arsenal do.

Interesting point on Adebayor not scoring while VdV is on the pitch. One thing against VdV is that Redknapp has stated that he considers VdV and Defoe as playing the same role on the pitch so he could decide to rest VdV in the coming games, or at least substitute him out early on.

VDV does not play in europe so Defoe is nailed on there, and VDV almost always gets subbed off early so Defoe gets some minutes every week.

Spurs strikers don't tend to score many when VDV is playing, particularly in his preferred central role. This is because VDV is so selfish that putting in other players to score is never in his thoughts - he is always looking for the shot. Look at Defoe last year (or any of Spurs strikers for that matter!)

Interesting theory. He sure likes to take a punt at goal. The numbers above would however suggest, with 1.4 key passes per game, that he isn't as selfish as you describe. Although you could make the argument that he really should be getting more passes and fewer shots than Adebayor, being a support striker.

    Arrgghh this is killing me
    Suarez > Aguero (-4)
    Pros:
    - Aguero is an FPL point-scoring machine, Suarez seems to play well, but it doesnt transfer to points
    - Will give me a City striker for this week, wont have to worry about no Aguero
    - Probably give the captains band to Aguero also.
    - City are scoring for 5 and just put 5 on Wolves with their second-string team.
    - Suarez might not play
    Cons:
    - Suarez could play and score, especially after scoring 2 midweek.
    - Aguero could easily get rested this week or next, whereas Suarez is nailed on when fit and has Swansea at home next GW
    - Points hit, will be my 3rd of the season..first 2 paid off so im due an unlucky one.
    HMMM...

Jack, that's a big gamble. Even on assumption Aguero starts, he may not get more than an hour, but Suarez almost certain starter.

          Right.

Personally I'd say take the hit. Even if Aguero wasn't captained I expect him to outscore Suarez. Realistically how many goals can Liverpool score at the Hawthorns? Two max? How many will City score? Six max? Aguero will typically play over 60 mins. I see a hat-trick coming.

Suarez scored 2 midweek and was unlucky (despite what people say, hitting the post twice is unlucky) against Norwich, that could have easily been 4 in his last 2..Aguero will probably get 60 at the weekend and then I doubt he starts at QPR the week after.

RVP comes in for either one, so it isnt a long-term move..and I never do hits that are meant for 'long-term' as they are clearly a 1 week thing that ends up long-term.

Arsenal are indeed porous, but that's little comfort when Chelsea can't keep a clean-sheet. The bread and butter for defenders is clean-sheets, if they can't do that, they're always one step away from begin jettisoned from my team. Having said that I'm confident Chelsea will tighten up. Bosingwa up against Jenkinson could be tasty too.

So, do I get rid of Bosingwa for Kompany or Shawx?

Feel like I need some Stoke defensive cover but kept Bosingwa over Kompany with my WC and now regretting it.

Got 2 frees this week and already did Nani to VdV so this would be another freebie.

I'm hoping Nani will be at the heart of the 'reaction' Fergie is expecting but form is against him. If you want to double up, best go Tottenham who are at home against a weakish team and with VDV on fire. 43 pts in the last 4 games.

But if you don't have Silva already, I'd consider him. Certain starter, on form, at home against a weak team and seven out of nine games bringing 5pts or more

No it doesn't. It says that if Swansea have a worse defence at home than 0 goals conceded per game they are likely to concede that average over the course of the season.

If they now have less, they are now more likely to have a lower average. That is ignoring fixtures.
