The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index scores are now available and the Fantasy Premier League Bonus points have now been added to the game. Here’s our breakdown of how they map out for Gameweek ten…

Chelsea 3 Arsenal 5
Van Persie 3, Santos & Walcott 2

The only share of FPL bonus this week comes amongst the Arsenal ranks, with Theo Walcott and Andre Santos tied on identical EA PPI scores having both notched at Stamford Bridge. Robin Van Persie is a clear leader however; he collected the Gameweek’s leading PPI score of 67. Chelsea’s Frank Lampard ranked third overall in this match but was denied bonus by the tied Arsenal pairing.

Everton 0 Man United 1
Hernandez 3, Evra 2, De Gea 1

Javier Hernandez’s strike proved decisive at Goodison and, not surprisingly, proved enough to earn him the highest EA PPI on show and the three bonus points. In a game devoid of any strong attacking performers, it was two United defensive players who ranked next, with Patrice Evra recording a PPI of 24 thanks to assist. David De Gea’s saves fetched him 21 PPI this week. Ji-Sung Park just missed out on bonus with a PPI of 20.

Norwich 3 Blackburn 3
Hoilett 3, Johnson 2, Samba 1

As we predicted last night, it was Junior Hoilett who emerged with the top ranked PPI score and the maximum bonus. Indeed, our forecast for this game proved spot-on, as Bradley Johnson and Blackburn’s Chris Samba picked up the remaining points. Morten Gamst Pedersen and Norwich’s Steve Morison were just a couple of PPI points behind that trio.

Tottenham 3 QPR 1
Van der Vaart 3, Bale 2, Lennon 1

Tottenham’s in-form Dutchman prevails for the maximum bonus – surprisingly recording a stronger EA PPI than two-goal hero Gareth Bale. Van der Vaart’s PPI of 63 will be broken down in our Scout review of the weekend tomorrow but, right now, it looks as though his efforts on target played a part in him nicking top spot from Bale. Aaron Lennon, with two assists from yesterday’s game, earned the remaining bonus.

Man City 2 Wolves 1
Kolarov 3, Dzeko 2, Johnson 1

The winning goal from Aleksandar Kolarov was enough to earn him the top PPI score in this match, just edging out Edin Dzeko in second spot. This again, was a tough one to predict and, while we went for Yaya Toure in our forecast last night, he was ranked fifth, with Adam Johnson recording a PPI of 23 to fetch the remaining bonus point.

Sunderland 2 Aston Villa 2
Petrov 3, Sessegnon 2, Larsson 1

It’s no real surprise to see Stylian Petrov on top of the PPI scores given his goal and assist contribution to the 2-2 draw. Stephane Sessegnon matched him with an identical return, but the Villa man came out on top in the PPI stakes with a 5 point advantage. Seb Larsson collected the remaining bonus courtesy of his assist for the late equaliser, denying Villa’s Richard Dunne by just a single PPI point.

Swansea 3 Bolton 1
Allen 3, Gower 2, Sinclair 1

Our prediction proved accurate for this one, as Joe Allen earned another three bonus points for his second consecutive goal and a busy midfield showing. Mark Gower’s creativity and industry was reflected with another strong PPI return, although it was very tight amongst the Swansea ranks. Scott Sinclair nudged in for a single bonus point with his third spot-kick of the season; there was just a single PPI point between him and Angel Rangel. Indeed, the next four players were separated by just a single PPI point, as the Swans dominated the PPI rankings.

West Brom 0 Liverpool 2
Carroll 3, Agger 2, Enrique 1

Andy Carroll came out on top in this game, just denying Dan Agger a share of the maximum bonus by a single PPI point. Indeed, with a clean sheet at the Hawthorns, Liverpool’s defensive players fared well here. Jose Enrique picked up a single bonus point, while both Martin Skrtel and Jose Reina were also highly placed in the PPI rankings. Charlie Adam also ranked well and was perhaps unfortunate not to see bonus rewards. Luis Suarez fetched a PPI of 12 – again efforts of target appear to have dented his bonus prospects.

Wigan 0 Fulham 2
Dempsey 3, Dembele 2, Sidwell 1

Clint Dempsey did enough to squeeze past Moussa Dembele for the maximum bonus in this game, as the Fulham pairing dominated the PPI rankings. As we predicted last night, Steve Sidwell came in for the single bonus point, although he trailed Dembele by 8 PPI points, sneaking past Mark Schwarzer in fourth by just 2 PPI points.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

People captaining Rooney this week? I have RVP as well but this seems like exactly the sort of game Wayne can bounce back in.

That said if I had Nani I'd captain him...

Kinda lost on last page - im in a mess here i think i wanna do the following? not sure if ive lost my mind tho...

hey lads im new to this and feel like a gamble:

I can get this team barely (0.0 left in bank.

    Vorm Ruddy

    Wilkinson, Evans, Enrique, Simpson, Gabbidon

    Nani, Silva, Vdv, Ramsey, Ferguson

    Van persie, Aguero, Adebayor

I really want this team but it would require a 16pt hit. I prob wont be able to get it after this wk with prices etc. Im doing well in my mini league 10 pts behind leader. However I have komp and bosing atm and getting sick of defenders returning crap pts! My mid and strikers would surely kill it from here on with fistures etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

              😯

WTF! If you're doing an 8pt hit this week AND next week you may as well do it all at once now for 16. Anyhow, how did you get from 5 transfers to 6?

What I meant was if you break it up into stages you might get away with two 4 pt hits over the next 3 gameweeks or one 8pointer and one 4pointer.

There are just some people who love a gamble though so I feel like this will all fall upon deaf ears. 😉

Is it worth taking a -4 hit to get Ghervino in, instead of Ade or Suarez and if so which one should go?

My thinking is that RVP produces assists, and for forwards that's like goals!

    Thoughts please?

I'm looking to get rid of Agbonlahor and was thinking of Gervinho myself. I have RVP and Ramsey as well so if Arsenal keep scoring the assists and goals are bound to roll in.

The question i'm asking myself is will Gervinho out score Adebayor over the next 6 weeks....i'm thinking he will.

Might keep Agbonlahor for this week against Norwich because Norwich dont keep clean sheets and then do Gervinho next week....but i'm very undecided.

It is impressive and fair play to them but their 5 wins have came against struggling teams generally and they still haven't faced the Mancherster teams, Chelsea and Liverpool.

The most impressive thing for me is not the results but the scorelines. Their defensive resolve is really unexpected this season considering the lack of signings in that department, they seem really tight this season. Great for FPL.

Kompany obviously suspended, Boyata injured and then another 2 (possibly 3) are rotation threats. Wanted to downgrade Bosingwa for attacking options but seems my defence is in more trouble that i thought.

    Cheers for any advice.

Kompany misses one game and looks to be potentially the highest scoring defender this season. Bosingwa is who I'm looking at shifting. Man U defender is almost a must as I think they're going into lock down. Their fixtures are great for a number of weeks.

ok, not often im totally unsure on which way i want to go but i really am unsure in this case so opinions greatly appreciated. over the next 3 weeks ill have 27m for 3 players to fit into this team

    ruddy, vorm
    brown, caulker, simpson, wilkinson, TRANSFER
    vdv, sess, petrov, moses, TRANSFER
    rvp, adebayor, TRANSFER

    combos im thinking of are

    a) evans, nani, rooney
    b) 4.4 def, silva, rooney
    c) 5.5 def, nani, aguero
    d) baines, 7m mid, rooney
    e) something else totalling 27m

    advice greatly appreciated!

I would say b) but that would mean relying on someone like McCauley which makes the defence maybe a little bit too light - so on that basis I'd say c) with Walker.

Afternoon all, I have a similar quandry to others today and that is RVP.

I am going to bring him in today but the trouble is who for:

    1. Straight swap with Rooney
    2. Aguero OUT but that requires a 4 point hit.

I am fairly certain of doing 2 but who would you lose out of Bosingwa and Kompany to downgrade to someone like ShawX or Wilkinson?

I could even do Given - Ruddy since I have got most GK picks wrong this season!

        Hi,

        Vorm/Ruddy
Kompany Enrique Simpson De Laet Bosingwa
        VDV Silva Sinclair Petrov Moses
        RVP Suarez Adebayor

Have done my free transfer. Have 0.7 in the bank. My defence needs sorting and also planning to swap Petrov for someone (possibly Drenthe) after this week. Thinking of De Laet to Wilkinson and Bosingwa to Jones. Worth taking a hit to do either, bearing in mind Simpson or Bosingwa might be rotated and then I wouldn't be able to field a full team?

I guess that's the risk you run with Adebayor - he has these very frustrating weekends. When he's played full seasons however he has been very effective - worth keeping for the long haul, esp with the service that Bale, vdV & co. look like providing...

dont see it myself mate. good player, good FPL player even...but you're always going to be questioning his playing time, and therefore you're not going to know when to play him. I'd prob prefer to have Ramsey at that price. Or maybe Drenthe if you go a little cheaper...

        Let's talk about Ramsey!

Only 1 goal and 1 bonus point this far and he's played basically every game. I do think that he's a good player but 6.6m is not THAT cheap either. I also have the feeling that he's been slightly lucky to get this many points. Do we think Arsenal will continue this little run and keep scoring enough? Last game he got nothing from five goals.

I don't particularly love the other options either, so that's why I thought I'd look closer at Ramsey first.

Larsson seems a better bet in that price range currently... esp. after MU this weekend

Yeah that is a bit of a problem. Also I don't really trust Sunderland. I always have the feeling they'll collapse. Fixtures are of course good.

he would of got an assist at the weekend if Gervinho been a bit more greedy and not squared it off to RVP. I think hes still got potential to score well over Arsenals forthcoming fixtures.

put gervinho through on goal who then passed to rvp...could easily have had an assist. i think the points will come

And 4 assists. Ignore the facts that you want.

I think considering where he's playing positionally, who he's playing for and who against he's good value at 6.6. That said I don't think he's much better value than Sess, Larsson and maybe Drenthe (time will tell on that one).

I'm certainly not ignoring his assists, I just think assists are a bit meh this season.

Did he have good games against Stoke and Chelsea? Failed to watch Arsenal the last two weeks but before that I found Ramsey to be one of the poorest Arsenal players in general.

12 points is still 12 points though. No idea about the stoke game, didn't watch. Was very, very good against Chelsea, could've had a couple of assists and a couple of goals. He's in the right places which is important for me.

I think for that price at the moment, Walters is the overwhelming favourite!

He's probably the one I'll go for unless I get enough things from this pointing me towards Ramsey.

I think he was dreadfully unlucky to come away with nothing. I may be overrating him as a fantasy product because he looks so good as a player but honestly I think he's going to be 75% of what Fabregas was at 1/2 the price. The new bonus system hurts him a bit but he could still score a few...

See if you're looking at value from Arsenal, RVP's your only best bet.

Ramsey's a differential from your usual mids (Sinclair, Petrov, Walters, Larsson, etc.). That's how I see it. Once Wilshere returns, I'll be looking at him more fondly.

Whether folk go Ramsey or Walters or Larsson (or even Murphy/Sinclair etc), it's good that there are genuine options this time around. Got sick in previous seasons of everyone ending up with the same team bar a couple of players...

Ramsey did start off poorly but now he's coming back to his old-self, before he got Shawcrossed. He has been very unlucky not to get more points in the last 2 games but at 6.6 he's definitely worth it considering his upcoming fixtures.

Good news folks. After four consecutive 1pt hauls for my captains, an improvement this time around! Emmanuel "2-points-and-a-shed-load-of-missed-chances" Adebayor. Thanks very much...

Anyways, here's some chalkboard analysis from the weekend's football if anyone's interested: http://sportingblogs.wordpress.com/2011/10/31/theweekend-vidic-returns-swanselona-dynamic-dembele-wba-liv/

Focus on Vidić, Rooney, Dembélé & Parker, Swansea’s passable Barça impression, how Arsenal beat Chelsea (not just RvP!), how Liverpool beat West Brom, and some other Spurs observations…
