Ten gameweeks into the season and Aaron Ramsey is the leading Fantasy Premier League (FPL) points scorer in the Arsenal midfield. Despite the likes of Theo Walcott playing wide right in the front three and Mikel Arteta’s set-piece duties, the young Welshman betters both his team mates’ tallies, with 37 points to the duo’s 34 respectively.

As the season unfolds, Ramsey is growing accustomed to his role as the furthest forward of Arsenal’s central midfield three; he’s either scored or assisted in four of his last five appearances, with 3 assists in his last couple of home games highlighting his Fantasy potential.

With the player having fully recovered after the horror of last season’s broken leg at Stoke, Arsene Wenger has been full of praise for his recent performances:

“I believe Aaron is on the way up. We speak about Robin van Persie a lot but people forget he has been out for one year when he was just getting into the team and that is tremendous. That he is improving now is normal because he is young. At his age there is still a lot of room for improvement for him. The worry we had was that he would be psychologically touched by the fact he was out for such a long time and we would see that when he goes into challenges. He got over that hurdle and I have been impressed with the way he dealt with the whole situation.”

His manager’s faith is shown by Ramsey’s game time. In the absence of Jack Wilshere, he’s been an integral part of the Gunners midfield in the post-Fabregas era. Aside from missing the gameweek eight home clash with Sunderland, Ramsey had played every minute of the league campaign thus far and has been a pivotal figure in a recent return to form that has seen the Gunners win eight of their last ten matches in all competitions.

Priced at 6.6 in FPL compared to Walcott’s 8.8 and Arteta’s 8.1, for example, Ramsey not only offers a way in to the Arsenal midfield right now, he looks the best option altogether. Owned by 10.9% of Fantasy managers, he’s already been transferred in by over 21,000 ahead of this weekend’s home clash with West Brom. With a very favourable run of fixtures that reads (WBA, nor, FUL, wig, EVE, mcy) there’s no doubt the young Welshman has both the form and the fixtures to prosper over the next few gameweeks as the new-look Arsenal start to click into place.

Not really - if you looked at the pole heading into GW10 only 3% thought RVP was a good option as captain despite him getting 38 points in the previous 3 gameweeks - everyone was put off by Arsenal playing Chelsea away.

i really do see this as his 'dry patch' i have warned some friends of mine about, he has a spell every season at some point, and i think now is that time. i wish he would play and produce some amazing points being a man u fan, but admit that sometimes he just falls out of favour, hopefully it wont last for too long, i have to say im glad i dont have him at this moment in time though.

Nani is really inconsistent, he will have 3 or 4 games where he plays like a world class player, and then about 6 or 7 games where he will play drab, and then it starts all over again. So yes he will get form back again soon, but it will only last for a few games.

Do you think FPL should bring in second and thrid assist points... they have this in Ice Hockey, and whilst I'm loathe to take up the batton by anything originating from across the pond, I think this would be a) more exciting for geeky analysis b)reward stable mid field work horses more c) be fairer to Scott Parker (see best real life player:worst FPL points discussion earlier).

I'd go Begovic. Also I wouldn't have Dyer/Tiote in the middle - both are average and have pretty rubbish fixtures ahead of them and with Ballotelli/Hernendez rotation they will be playing. I'd drop down either Bal/Hernendez to Sturridge or Bendtner and then upgrade your mid to Ramsay/Walters

Personally I'm steering clear of City forwards because of the rotation - Balotelli didn't play at the weekend, played in the CL so is he due for a rest? Aguero is probably the safest, but not safe enough for an 11m+ player for me.

Obertan to Drenthe is a good move, but at some point I'd look to get a cheapie in the middle or you're going to have to leave a minimum of 5.8 on the bench every week.

Did you see the guy on here who bought RvP in at the weekend after his hat-trick, then sold him for a 0.1 profit yesterday, as part of his 24 point hit masterplan 😆

Have come up with the plan of Shawcross>Wilko then Bos>Baines after the internationals for a punt... Hoping Wilko doesn't start tonight now but surely he'll be picked at the weekend as can't see Shawcross getting over a groin injury in a week...?

        i mean,

        8 pts in 3

        or

        25 pts in 3

        is what you're looking at.

WBA concede 2 per away game, NOR 1.6, which is basically the same, so all things being equal, it's got to be the man on form, no?

I'm making the transfer either this gw or next....so want to know if I'm gonna take the plunge this gw or not.

I'm leaning towards Gervinho, Gabby has been quiet recently.

    Seb Larsson or Ramsey?

It's Larsson for me takes free kicks and always chips in with assists.

I already have Arse coverage with RVP but I still think Ramsey will score less than Lars this season.

i would go ramsey, in a replenished arsenal attack minded team and will gain ore chances to score, whereas sunderland are sometimes carried by larsson putting more pressure on him, and less attcking that arsenal, just my opinion though 🙂

Anyone considering getting rid of Rooney i know he has nice fixtures but due man utds injurys in midfield with Fletcher and Anderson doubtful and Carrick Giggs Cleverley All ruled out of the sunderland game he is most likely to play their with Park so anyone considering sellling for Chicharito or Welbeck???

fletcher will play according to sir alex and carrick started training today so i think rooney will definetly play as a forward if not this week the week after.
