In the last twenty-five years, Sir Alex Ferguson has upset me on several occasions.

When Mark Robins stooped to head an FA Cup winner at Forest to save his job – that was one. All those “accusations” and mind games with Kevin Keegan – that wound me up a bit. That annoying clock-watching period on the sidelines. Every time he greets a goal with that “Dad dance” celebration of his – that kind of grates a bit too.

Today, on the day that the whole football world acknowledged his immense spell at the helm at Old Trafford, Sir Alex was at it again.

Having stuck my neck out to push forward Jonny Evans and David De Gea as prospects, Ferguson conspired to drop them both to the bench a week after keeping a clean sheet at Everton.

Who am I to question the logic of it all? The man is an undisputed football genius. After all this time, he’s also still bloody unpredictable.

The selection of Rio Ferdinand alongside Nemanja Vidic wouldn’t have been a surprise not so long ago. There’s little doubt that, when fit and at their best, that pairing are the first choice centre-backs. But, in a week where Ferguson had admitted Ferdinand has had to change his game to play a part in the United defence, it seemed likely that creaking Rio would be spared a second game in a week. Evans looked highly likely to start alongside the imperious Vidic.

Not so. Evans was benched – all those who invested in the Irishman were left frustrated and I’m left with Evans in our Scout Picks for two weeks; taunting me like a grinning Aleksandar Kolarov wearing an “I love Victor Moses” T-shirt.

Suddenly it seems Sir Alex is over his Evans blind spot. Maybe Mike Phelan has sat him down and taken him through some highlights. Even with a dodgy back and the tedious Twitter habbit, Rio’s the better bet.

We kind of knew that but, for a while, it seemed Sir Alex was happy to back Evans. Having seen the press make a meal of his comments on Ferdinand, however, it’s almost as if he stuck with Rio to make a statement. To keep us all guessing.

To compound my frustration, Ferguson rested David De Gea to the bench to confirm him as a rotation risk for the remainder of the season.

Thanks for that. By all means rest him before a Champions League game Sir Alex – that’s signposted, we can anticipate that. But rest him before a two-week international break? I can’t work with that – we need some logic to play with, otherwise this relationship is going nowhere. First you shift Wayne Rooney to midfield, now this debacle. We’d quite like to consider your players for our Fantasy teams this season, but if you’re going to act up, we’ll have to look elsewhere.

Honestly, how long does it take for these Premier League managers to work out that there’s Fantasy points and reputations at stake? Longer than twenty-five years, clearly.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Just thinking about next GW, I know there's two weeks of internationals to go, but what would you advise with this team?

    Kenny, Vorm

    Kompany, Enrique, N.Taylor, Simpson, Woodgate

    Silva, VDV, M.Petrov, O'Hara, Dyer

    Adebayor, RVP, Rooney

Wanna get rid of O'Hara and Petrov asap, for 2 of Drenthe, Sess, Ramsey, Walters. Which 2?

Also have no money in the bank so would have to downgrade Adebayor/Enrique (probably Enrique, Liverpool have two tough games in a row)

Like Larsson but with suspension next game week and considering bringing in Sess instead. Opinions on sess appreciated and open to other options also. Under 6.5. Larsson to Sess would also free up .5 which I could apply to upgrade elsewhere. Have 0 in bank right now

I know, I want to get Larsson on my squad, I currently have Sess but I am more impressed with the former. Didn't like how he was subbed as well. So I'm thinking of keeping Sess for one more week and, if not impressed, bring in Larsson. Seb has a lot more attacking threat imo. He was super dangerous today.

I really want to change my keeper but I'm going to cut my losses and play Vorm every week instead of taking an 8 point hit to take Ruddy out. So, opinions of Walters, Drenthe, Ramsey? BUT he does have RVP on his side so all he has to do is pass the ball to him for an 80% guaranteed Assist... I say Ramsey, koz Arsenal aslo have great fixtures into December and are in some sort of form.

      1. He hit the crossbar once. Give QPR some credit, they had a really good game. Bossed possession and minimized City's attacking. I think aguero is still incredibly dangerous and will continue to be about as nailed on as you can get for City.

      2. Walters. He's a known entity and is on penalties. If drenthe turns out to be the real deal, its an easy switch. Until then...

      3. Sounded like Westwood (sun) had a good game. He's a starter for a while, and Sun has a good run

I would. And if it doesn't work just bring Sturridge back. Bendtner didn't look exceptionally sharp after the first half though...but then again, neither did Sturridge.

Suarez is an amazing footballer, he's just wasteful. I'm not sure if he's going to start banging them in, or else just become a Modric (amazing footballer, but crap on FPL)

    Guys,

Who do you think will be the possible risers over the international break. I'll get the ball rolling:
    Vorm
    Krul
    R.Taylor
    Jones
    VDV
    RVP

Any others to add to this list?

Hi Tangtastic, have you figured out your Agbon dilema? I have the same thing... who to swap him for or perhaps leave him??

In a way, I have. I've just transferred in Jones + Drenthe, which gives me 5 midfielders I will play next week.

          Nani / Silva / Ramsey / Drenthe / VdV

          RvP / Agbon or Sturridge

So I will keep Agbon given that I could drop him to bench. I think the rise he'll probably et over intl break makes him worthwhile to hold on to. And although fixtures aren't fantastic for a while, its plausible that he could score in a few of them.

Only thing thats screwing with me is lack of Sunderland coverage.. want to squeeze in one of Sess/Larrson/Bendtner soon.. but will delay the decision on how I do that for another week at least.

Have a read of this. It's about the multi-ethnic support of Edin Dzeko. Seems like a good guy.

A woman goes to see a doctor. She says : "Doctor, my c*nt is singing to me, what do I do?" Doctor says: "Thats odd, lets hear it". The woman takes her clothes off, the doctor comes closer to her c*nt and all he can hear is : "City, City, City..." He stands up and says: "That's alright. Every c*nt is singing that".

There is a number of players I need to get rid of I have had a look and potentially:

    1 goalie
3 defenders (including Bos you waste of money)
    Petrov
    2 attackers (including waster Suarez)

Shame I have already used my wild card 🙁

GW 9 Dzeko to Agbonlahor lost me 12 points
GW 10 Agbonlahor to Balotelli(c) (4 pts) lost me loads
GW 11 Balotelli and Moses to Doyle and Johnson (4pts) is currently -3 with Doyle to go

I just hate this game sometimes

So in GW 9 you took out a City striker, presumably because of rotation, and then brought another one in GW 10. I know this game can be frustrating but it sounds to me like you're not thinking these transfers through.

    btw looool:
Not so. Evans was benched – all those who invested in the Irishman were left frustrated and I’m left with Evans in our Scout Picks for two weeks; taunting me like a grinning Aleksandar Kolarov wearing an “I love Victor Moses” T-shirt.

I need around 20 points including bonus from Ade and VDV tomorrow. So in other words around 2 goals and 1 assist between them. Fulham away isn't the best of fixtures. Does anyone think I have a reasonable chance?

I think if Ade assists and VDV scores two. It's highly likely.
