It’s nights like this we all dread. The words “Rafael Van der Vaart “ and “hamstring” have Fantasy managers on edge, with the breaking news that the on-song Dutchman has limped out of Holland’s friendly against Switzerland with a possible problem.

The Spurs player has been in sensational form of late, with 6 goals and 14 bonus points in his last six league games seeing his Fantasy Premier league (FPL) price rocket since gameweek six, jumping from 9.7 to 10.5 as he helped Spurs take the league by storm. Seven wins and a draw in the last eight games have helped Harry Redknapp’s side up to fifth, level on points with fourth-placed Chelsea with a game in hand.

Sixty-six minutes into tonight’s game at the Amsterdam Arena, though, and Van der Vaart’s notorious hamstring problems reared their head again. At present, there’s no further news other than confirmation of his withdrawal from the goalless draw- nothing concrete on the injury front to report. No need to panic just yet, folks.

Robin Van Persie owners will be pleased to know the Gunners skipper came through the game unscathed but Harry Redknapp-given his recent heart scare- will be off for a lie down.

We’ll bring you more news as we get it.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    RMWCT please?

    Vorm. Ruddy
    Jones. McAuley. Simpson. Brown. Wilkinson
    Silva. VDV. Sess. Sinclair. Walters
    Roo. RVP. Klasnic

1.1 in bank to get in Enrique after next two GW's.

Not too sure about Klasnic though, would Eagles-Walters then someone in for Klasnic be better?

    Cheers

ruddy is a complete waste. get moreira for 3.9 and always play vorm. moreira comes in when injured.
nice defence. cheap is the way to go.
Id try and get lamps into your midfield.

really? wow. well i certainly aint no swansea supporter so you could be right mate. sorry bout the mis-information. anyway... i stick by the rest of what ive said. no need for expensive defences this year.

it's all about the midfield. 4 big mids - lamps / dvd / silva / nani

you can still get rvp / hairproblems upfront. just downsize the back

Great, almost identical to my draft.
Obviously VDV is now pending, but think the switch to Bale if so, or if out for a while maybe Defoe will get a good run, and prob on pens?
Am undecided between Eagles and Bendtner or Sess and Klasnic
      Keep Walters imo
I was thinking about lampard, but at that price, being on 4 yellows is a risk

Personally like Ramsay Brunt and Drenthe over the other options. Sinclair only scores pens and Walters nice run of fixtures will come to an end soon. What is the rest of your team? maybe there is some other way to finance getting Walters if you think it is the best choice which he could be.

Lookind at Givens poor fixtures and not so good CS tally so far you could just ship him for westwood and find the finances there, also You may also look at getting rid of Raylor, since you already have Simpson and newcastle have tough fixtures coming up. Also Enrique Richards will encounter very tricky fixtures in the coming weeks, that may leave you a little think on the defense.
Maybe Given,Raylor to Westwood and someone cheaper(Mcauley. This could help you upgrade Petrov and Dyer.

Yes but I like Raylor.. Highest scoring defensive player and he shoots freekicks sometimes. The next three fixtures for him are awful but.. I would like to know for how long Mignolet is injured before I bring in Westwood. But probably the smartest thing now to do is to bring Brunt in for M.Petrov and then see if Rooney will start scoring again.. Wait and see 😀

probably wouldn't do Rooney > Suarez

in terms of "coming good", all Rooney probably has to do is go back to being a forward again. Suarez has been in that position and hasn't really managed it yet.

      the others seem OK

      Here are my thoughts TheLightKnight:

Cech + Moreira = 10.8m. For that you can buy Howard + Vorm (who rotate really well) and still have change or, better still, Vorm + Hennessey/Krul/Kenny who rotate ok and save even more cash.

Lescott - why pay more when you can have Kompany less. Lescott is also a rotation risk in my opinion with Toure and Savic pushing for starts.

Smalling rotation risk (and not 100% fit)

Coloccini - I'd rather have Simpson and save a million.

Midfield is good but I would upgrade Milner to Silva from the money you could save in defense

Balotelli is that up front? I'd rather have Dzeko personally

A lot of questionable pick in my opinion. Are you happy with your team?

    Vorm (Ruddy)
Brown Evans Enrique (R Taylor Simpson)
    Vdv Mata Silva Ramsey (Dyer)
    Adebayor Suarez RVP

I'm keeping Vdv regardless but was thinking about R Taylor and Suarez out Vermaillen and Sturridge in.

Would be for an 8 point hit as already done Brown in for Ward. I think I'd be sorted for the next few weeks so not bothered by the hit.

8 point hit that includes Suarez out and a defensive change is madness in my opinion. You need Taylor and Suarez to do nothing and Vermaillen and Sturridge to get 13 or more points between them just to break even.

Brave move getting rid of Ward. I've been planning it for weeks but he goes and gets a 10 point haul!

My thinking is that Liverpool have poor fixtures and better to get rid of Suarez at the start of them although when you look at the arithmetic it does seem risky.

I had no problem getting rid of Ward. Wolves defence is rotten and it is unlikely he will score again anytime soon.

Quote on VDV for those who speak french :

D'après Bert van Marwijk, le sélectionneur des Pays-Bas, l'attaquant néerlandais souffre "d'une légère contracture à une cuisse". "Ce n'est pas grave mais le match face à l'Allemagne arrive trop tôt."

Have a dilemma which has been bugging me for a bit now.. do I sell Ade so I can get both Sess and Drenthe, with a bit more cash to sort out defence ( bos, saylor, given all probably on the out) or do I keep him and get one of Sess/ Drenthe and have a bit less to sort out the defence.

Say VDV is only out for one game and Rooney goes back to striker this weekend.
Which would be the better option?
    A. VDV and Dzeko (have Ade and Silva)
    B. Drenthe and Rooney (have no United)

Really hard to say. Probably the latter because i'm for covering as many teams as possible.

I can have both vDV and Rooney if i upgrade Suarez for a 4 point hit. Not sure though.

        A. Silva VDV Lampard Ramsey Dyer
        Bendtner RVP Rooney
        B. Silva VDV Lampard Ramsey Dyer
        Dzeko RVP Adebayor
        C. Silva Lampard Drenthe Ramsey Dyer

There all good options. But I would go with A, I'm Going for the same front 3 with Rooney, RVP and Bendter. No rotation risks, all 90 mins players and all on pens (I heard Bendy stepped up to take it last weekend)

dont get me wrong. i LOVE the prospect of drenthe. id love to replace my currently underperforming ramsey with him for his price. but everton suck this year so why gamble? From here on in i personally don't think 4 big mids are the way to go. with 2 big strikers.

thus - lamps / silva / nani / dvd / rvp / aguero or hairpiece ... downsize the others

Wilkinson, Shawcross, S.Taylor, Enrique, De Laet
VdV, Silva, Formica, Ben Arfa, Dyer
    RvP, Rooney, Adebayor

sort your starting 11 for this week, if u need whoever is gonna come for petrov/delaet to play then do the transfer u need.
otherwise save the transfer and do it for both next week as maybe more options will be available

depends on ur team, look at the fixtures of ur budget mids, if in 3 weeks 1 or 2 of them are gonna hit a wall them u can dowgrade tehm for getting vdv back
in anycase with the rising of lennon and bale, vdv isnt the only pt return for tot anymore, as we've seen in the fulham game where 2 goals went in without him haveing anything to do with the play

Why are people transferring Luis Suarez out ?
The hard games is where the best strikers scores.
If Arsenal can bag 5 at Chelsea, I think Liverpool can do the same (and concede less).
Against Manchester City , last season Liverpool won 3-0 with Englands Messi scoring twice 😉
Although Liverpool could get a battering from City , They'll Still Score A Few.
And for those that don't know Luis Suarez scored 4 for Uruguay yesterday , so really he ain't worth a 4 point to transfer out with the likes of Rooney playing in midfield ?
