Arsene Wenger is without full-backs Kieran Gibbs and Carl Jenkinson as his side come up against Norwich. Johan Djourou and Andre Santos look likely to get the nod in the Gunners’ backline…

Cheik Tiote has been ruled out for Newcastle’s trip to Man City, who have Sergio Aguero fit and available after the international break. Mancini’s starting lineup is anyone’s guess, though, with many of their first-team involved heavily for their nations. Luis Suarez has shaken off a back injury and should start for Liverpool. Whilst Alex Ferguson has question marks over the fitness of Danny Welbeck.

As ever, Team News will continue to be updated throughout the day so keep checking back as more reports and press conferences come through. It’s also worth keeping an eye on our Twitter feed which links directly to the source.

johnfinlay John swears he'll deliver unbiased Fantasy Premier League tips and news...until Leeds get promoted.

That´s the kind of gamble FF is about.. If Rooney starts banging this week you already snatch the points and others will get him giving you a nice price rise!

If Welbeck is in doubt then Rooney would move to the forwards again, so I don't think the trade is too crazy. I still have him because I can't ignore his fixtures and united should start firing again soon

Considering getting Westwook in, but already have Vorm, and they dont seem to rotate that well - even if it works well for this week.

    Team:

    Vorm
    Enrique – BAE – Wilko
    Brunt – Sess – VDV – Drenthe
    RVP – Rooney – Aguero

    Krull – Bosingwa – Dyer – DELETE

Thinking of: Bos -> Jones or Bos -> Santos
to play instead of enrique this week, what do you think?

I know some people aren't sure about playing Jones because he's a rotation risk but I reckon he's going to prove himself with attacking potential as well as possible cleanies. Not convinced about Santos.

Same, only takes Sunderland conceding one goal to make it a bad move though.

Even though totalfpl has Norwich more likely to keep a clean sheet I'm gonna go with Given. I just can't see Arsenal not scoring at Norwich and hoping Spurs have one of those frustrating days they have every now and then.

Although as an Arsenal fan it is tempting to go with Ruddy so there's a consolation if we don't score!

Well Dreamboat played for France in the week so he should be fit....I think we could get a point but just a decent performance would do! You see Sammy signed a new deal? Very raw but glad we have him settled down....

Likewise. To be honest, I'd be tempted to start him tomorrow.

With Marv out and Obertan doubtful, I really don't want to see Gosling/Guthrie on the right. Ben Arfa maybe might get the nod at RW?

Tbh, I'd go with Ba alone upfront, and a MF of Jonas, Guthrie, Cabaye, Gos/HBA, HBA/Sammy.

But that's why I'm not a PL manager.

I keep thinking 4-5-1/4-3-3 is the way and he keeps proving me wrong! I was looking at Sammy for a cheeky punt for tomorrow actually but hes a striker on the game! I am not sure vs Man City how technical he is and so how helpful he will be. I can see Gosling and Guthrie playing deep behind Cabaye, Gut and one other (will he play HBA against the man who broke his leg?!) and Ba up top...but we shall see.
Nice to meet another Toon fan! Are you a Geordie? Im not, and feel like the only Toon fan in Sheffield sometimes!

I'm not, as it happens. Londoner myself, there's not many of us either! But I visited the toon a fair bit when I was young as my mum went to Uni up there and loved it. Guess matchday atmosphere sucked me in!

As for tomorrow, I think anything other than 4-5-1/4-3-3 and we'll be punished. So that's what I'd like to see. And if I see Guthrie on the right or Shola in the stadium I'm really going to fear the worst!

Thanks toontom...as well as the obvious (the redeisign) we've come on a lot behind the scenes, stuff visitors will never see as such, but stuff that allows the site to run more smoothly and efficiently.

It's taken time and money, and there's lots still to do, but the support from the community, and our members of course, has given us the chance to build a good foundation and the opportunity to carry on improving and growing.

We've come a long way since I spent that Christmas building the site using a dummies guide to wordpress.

Totally agree on how well the site's doing these days - can't imagine the work that's gone into it. I do miss the old days a bit though - it's always exciting when a community is springing up for the first time - but it could only go in this direction with the number of people using it I guess.

A tiny piece of my brain is saying do this:

    1)
    Vorm
    McAuley, Kompany, Wilkinson
    Nani, VDV, Silva, Walters, Sinclair
    RVP, Adebayor

But another fragment of my cerebrum says this:

    2)
    Vorm
    Enrique, Kompany, Wilkinson
    Nani, VDV, Silva, Walters
    RVP, Adebayor, Sturridge

Then a little (sexy) bird says sweet things like this:

    3)
    Vorm,
    McAuley, Kompany, Wilkinson
    Nani, VDV, Silva, Walters, Drenthe
    RVP, Adebayor
    (Bye-bye, Sinclair...)

Got 6.4m to spend on a midfielder (Sell Wright-Phillips + £0.1m in bank), but torn between Sessegnon (£6.2m), Eagles (£5.4m), Drenthe (£6m), Rodwell (£5.3m) and Sinclair (£6.2m).

Leaning towards Eagles or Drenthe as that would leave me some cash free (still have some deadwood to shift), but think maybe Sessegnon would deliver max points/£?

Hi Guys, I wont bother boring you all with a RMT,

    Basically have 1.1m in bank,

Need to rid Bosingwa @ 5.8m

    Want to upgrade N.Dyer @ 4.6m

This would leave me with 11.5m for Defender and Midfielder (want players with good run of games, not just this week).

I appreciate any advice , cheers all.

Depends on who you already have. In that price bracket, the following:

Defender - Jones / Shawcross / Wilkinson. Or Brown for something different.
Mid: Eagles / Walters / Drenthe

Formica is a possible decent option. SWA, WB, BOL next three at home, with WIG, STO, SUN away. He looks among BR's most creative players and is just £5m.

Footballers who, for whatever reason, never fulfilled their potential (as a United fan my list is probably biased)...

    Duncan Edwards - obvious reasons
George Best - although he achieved a lot he was effectively finished as a top class player by about 26 and never did it on the international stage
Norman Whiteside - injury curtailed his career (look at some ealry footage of him - what a great young player he was!)
Matt Le Tissier - loyalty / lack of ambition prevented him playing at the very top level either domestically or internationally
Steven Gerrard - again loyalty prevented him from winning the volume of trophies that his ability deserved
Paul Gascoigne - lifestyle and mental issues

    Any more?

I always found John Barnes' England form particularly annoying given that 4-5 year spell at LIV where he was simply breathtaking.
Chris Waddle's career, fine as it was, lacked a certain consistency, I would say too.

      Tommy Taylor, same as Edwards.

Shearer won one title and that was it.

Andres Escobar - shot dead at 27

Lentini. Italian footballer who was transferred to Milan for a world record fee. I doubt many people have heard of him.

      Pennant, Babel.

      Freddy Adu.

Injury - Hargreaves, Marco Van Basten, Steve Coppell

Yeah Paul McGrath is a good one - he was great even though he never trained (bit like Ledley). Not seen enough of Bridges tbh.

I was never a big fan of Lee Sharpe - always thought he relied to much on knocking the ball past a defender and skinning them for pace - granted he was good at that but when he lost a bit of pace he had nothing else to fall back on, unlike, say Ryan Giggs who was able to adapt.

Someone talk to me about Holt as a potential cheap striker/first sub. He's on a good run but has also been a sub… likely to get back into first team soon? On penalties and sharing free kicks with Pilkington..? I've got the funds to get Baines in, but if Holt's price drops again then I can get him in for Adebayor and afford Lampard in midfield to give me the main players on set pieces from the top teams (alongside RvP, Rooney, VdV and Silva)…

Not a bad idea actually. It does appear the captain of the Norwich side will be returning and possibly playing alongside Morison. This may also reduce the influence of Pilkington by changing to a 4,4,2 formation

there is a possibility....I still think Jones'll play at RB. Fergie could argue that he'll be on a high after his performances and want to keep that form going. I expect him to be rested midweek, when Rafael - who came through a reserves last night, could be ready. Fabio is a lb really .

Some Man Utd fans may be able to help here as to how often Fabio has played rb and how effective he was.
