After yesterday’s Premier League bonanza of eight games, today we have to settle for just a single fixture. It’s a potential cracker though, as Chelsea take on Liverpool at Stamford Bridge. The Dugout Discussion opens it’s doors for the short shift, and the team news is in…

Chelsea XI: Cech, Ivanovic, Luiz, Terry, Cole, Ramires, Mikel, Lampard, Mata, Drogba, Malouda.
Liverpool XI: Reina, Enrique, Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Lucas, Adam, Kuyt, Maxi, Bellamy, Suarez.

The headline news concerns the names that don’t appear on those team sheets. Three players that cost their respective clubs a total of over £100m in 2011 all feature on the bench. Chelsea opt for Didier Drogba over former Liverpool star Fernando Torres, and Liverpool leave out Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing in favour of Craig Bellamy and Maxi Rodriquez.

Elsewhere, David Luiz and Florent Malouda get the nod ahead of Alex and Daniel Sturridge respectively.

    I know I know. But Ramsey and Ramires need to go, and to fund VDV I'd have to bring in a 4.7 Mid and I already have Dyer. ARS and CHE both have home fixtures next weekends though so I guess I could save a transfer and give them another chance.

      true but there haven't been many clean sheets this season. Baines is best for his attacking qualities. He takes penalties and free kicks. I say yes to Baines but dont be to quick on Suarez

        He also wasn't very good. I am still unconvinced by Mata. I will give him a huge benefit of time to settle though. Luiz epitonises everything wrong with our team. Somehow we made an ordinary side look very dangerous today.

        If Mata was a little bit quicker he'd be unbelievable. He's definitely very talented, but has gone missing for large parts of some of our bigger matches this season.
        
        Didn't actually think Luiz was too bad today. Did a decent job of keeping Suarez quiet, and made a fair few important interceptions and tackles. It's our other centre back who is worrying me more at the moment.

If i do
Suarez > Helgusson I can also do Moses > Lamps. But would rather do Suarez > Sturridge but that leaves me 0.7m short of Lampard. arghhh
