Gameweek 12 draws to close tonight with a game at White Hart Lane between Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa. This is the third time in the last five years that this fixture has taken place on a Monday night, and if the tie goes anywhere near matching the excitement levels of the 2007 meeting, then we are in for an instant classic. As a Martin Laursen owner that night, this fixture evokes fond fantasy football memories.

The Dugout Discussion opens for the late shift, and if reminiscing over a defender brace (and three bonus points) isn’t for you, then I hope the following team news is enough to chew over whilst we wait for the 8p.m. kick-off…

Spurs XI: Friedel, Walker, Kaboul, King, Assou-Ekotto, Lennon, Parker, Modric, Bale, Van der Vaart, Adebayor.

Villa XI: Given, Cuellar, Dunne, Collins, Warnock, Hutton, Petrov, Herd, Heskey, Bent, Agbonlahor.

With yesterday’s encounter at Stamford Bridge focusing on players looking to (and in the end succeeding to) haunt their old employers, tonight once again there’s a whole host of players on that same mission. Brad Friedel, Kyle Walker (was on loan), Alan Hutton and Darren Bent all start and face their respective previous clubs. Jermaine Jenas, on loan at Villa, is ineligible to play tonight.

Elsewhere, fantasy football favourite Rafael van der Vaart passes a fitness test to start up front behind Emmanual Adebayor.

            Not sure, I'd assume Agbonlahor adding width in midfield with Heskey floating between mid and forward - with Bent isolated I reckon.

    £2 on a 2-1 Spurs win with Adebayor scoring 1st. It's amazing how FPL influences my bets; I own Adebayor, yet if I had VDV I'm sure I'd have bet on him instead!

    Evening chaps,

    Currently owning Begovic and Vorm as goalies, got Vorm in for next GW to avoid Given's drop. Now, I'm pondering getting rid of Begovic (if he drops before weekend) for Krul (if he rises before weekend).

    I bought Begovic at 5.0, and will therefore earn .1 on both him and Krul if I switch them, for a hit though.

    Worth it if it happens before next GW?

    I reckon I can still squeak into the first round proper of the cup, all I need is a couple of unassisted goals for Adebayor, a goal for Warnock and VDV to miss a penalty then get sent off. That might happen, right?! 🙂
