Gameweek 12 draws to close tonight with a game at White Hart Lane between Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa. This is the third time in the last five years that this fixture has taken place on a Monday night, and if the tie goes anywhere near matching the excitement levels of the 2007 meeting, then we are in for an instant classic. As a Martin Laursen owner that night, this fixture evokes fond fantasy football memories.

The Dugout Discussion opens for the late shift, and if reminiscing over a defender brace (and three bonus points) isn’t for you, then I hope the following team news is enough to chew over whilst we wait for the 8p.m. kick-off…

Spurs XI: Friedel, Walker, Kaboul, King, Assou-Ekotto, Lennon, Parker, Modric, Bale, Van der Vaart, Adebayor.

Villa XI: Given, Cuellar, Dunne, Collins, Warnock, Hutton, Petrov, Herd, Heskey, Bent, Agbonlahor.

With yesterday’s encounter at Stamford Bridge focusing on players looking to (and in the end succeeding to) haunt their old employers, tonight once again there’s a whole host of players on that same mission. Brad Friedel, Kyle Walker (was on loan), Alan Hutton and Darren Bent all start and face their respective previous clubs. Jermaine Jenas, on loan at Villa, is ineligible to play tonight.

Elsewhere, fantasy football favourite Rafael van der Vaart passes a fitness test to start up front behind Emmanual Adebayor.

Join us in the Dugout Discussion chatroom where, as always, you can follow all the action.

Akers Richard or Akers, as he is known, has been regularly haunting this site since July 2008. He is young and foolish, take what he says with a pinch of salt. Follow them on Twitter

too much of a knee-jerk to swap roon and ramsey for adeb and bale for 4 point hit when all have pretty good fixtures next week?

Had Roo since the start and I have a curse in that I keep the faith for too long and when I do transfer him out he regains form!!

Although also have Nani eating into the budget, any ideas please?

Rooney has a good fixture next week?

Even if he did he'll probably do jack all next weekend anyway. Until I sell him, then he'll score a hatrick.

      Grrrrr!!

as a united fan this is difficult but makes sense... Ba would be coming in for edeb in gw 15 so could do with Bale as a keeper for spurs coverage as well before the bandwagon pushes up the price again, been tryin to squeeze him in the past 3 gwk's but screwed by small price rises...

I am a United fan too but you just can't think about that. Jones is the only United cover you need really as they are focused on defense at the moment. Lampard and Ade are much better options and are on form

Hmm I'm going to allow a yet couple more miserable gameweeks before I part with the Roonster otherwise I have learned nothing from previous seasons. Wasn't expecting anything from Swan away anyway... Brough Bale in for Nani until the latter remembers how to take on defenders and cross the ball ARGH

Would have thought Villa would be in with a shout of 7th or something.

Agbonlahor and Bent up top with the likes of Ireland, Bannan, N'Zogbia, Delph for creativity and with an old, reliable defence with Dunne, Collins and Given - all leaders. Solid team on paper.

    Obviously McLeish thinks otherwise...

Perhaps people are beginning to see why Villa fans were so anti McLeish. Its not just the bluse nose connection, he is negative in the extreme. There you go McLeish.....full time whistle. What a load of feckin rubbish.

Did anyone see this average position map on ESPN? It shows Rooney playing the furthest forward, with Pea just behind him, I would never have thought that watching the game at the weekend.

    http://soccernet.espn.go.com/gamecast?id=318087&cc=5901

Also, Rooney had 6 shots, 2 on target, 2 off target and 2 blocked. Hernandez had 1 shot, one goal. Nani had 3 shots, 2 off target and 1 blocked.

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/chalkboards/EXw04o7d1B06k631Uq24

I just don't know what to do, the stats speak for themselves, he is United's lead attacker, being a United fan is also blinding me, but with this many shots, playing up top, good fixtures, no idea what to do.

Moment I take him out, cue hattrick.

So hacked off at the moment I can't be bleedin arsed to do any changes. Whatever I do will be the wrong choice.

Just have to hope that next week Rooney, Drenthe, VdV, Bendtner and Sinclair can actually pull their fingers out long enough to contribute more than 2 or 3 piddling points each.

Its just really frustrating when you pick good players and they don't perform for several weeks.

Makes it worse when the players who were behind me gambled on other players and those guys are all coming good now.

Looking at the heat map, he drops deep alot to around just around halfway line and outwide. Hernandez's movement is great but his heat map is more sparse.

I'd have Rooney for the set-pieces and pens if money isn't an issue - at OT next week, Nani vs Ryan Taylor could get messy going by what happened on Saturday at City, so I'd think Rooney will score at least 1.

    Vorm(Krul)
Brown, Jose Enrique, Shawcross, (Simpson, R Taylor,)
    Mata, VDV, Walters, Silva (Dyer)
    Crouch, Ade, RVP

I have 2 FT so I think I need to use one else I have Jose against City and I don't like those odds.

Simpson or R Taylor out and who for? I am thinking Simpson out as he can easily come back in but I have too much Newscastle coverage at the back although they have nice fixtures in a few weeks.

After this week I need to rid Crouch as I have 2 Stoke strikers...

Enrique -> Walker? Not a knee jerk, have been considering it for a while. Thoughts?

An okay transfer if no other part of your team needs work. Enrique offers pretty much the same attacking threat as Walker, and 'Pool are slightly more reliable for clean sheets IMO.

Not for me. After Citeh L'pool's fixtures lighten up.

City haven't got the best fixtures - liv, NOR, che, ARS. You'd be pretty f*cked off if Aguero got rotated for the Norwich game.

            hehe

Ba looks good after those 2 games, though. I'm wondering what to do with Suarez too.
