You know the drill. The Scout Selection Committee picks three players and Big Dunc’s way with words tempts you with our Friday night trio. Dunc is unavailable for selection this weekend, so I’ve stepped into the breach to deliver this week’s Differentials piece in his absence. Here’s who we have for your consideration…

Steve Morison

We’re backing the Norwich striker heavily this weekend. Drafted in to the “Ones to Watch” section of our official Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Scout article, he gets the nods here for his performances over the last few gameweeks.

The Welshman has found the net in each of his last three games, scoring against Blackburn, Aston Villa and Arsenal, and while the Canaries seem incapable of picking up a clean sheet, he’s been the one consistent source of points in Paul Lambert’s side of late.

Between gameweek 10-12, only Robin Van Persie has scored more goals than Morison, an indication of his form right now. Up next? A home clash with a QPR side that have conceded 11 goals in their last three road trips. Priced at 4.9 and with an ownership of just 1.3%, Morison looks good value to extend that scoring streak at Carrow Road tomorrow.

Phil Bardsley

Back in the Sunderland fold after a season blighted by both injury and suspension, Bardsley‘s presence in the Black Cats’ back line adds a definite solidity. A look at his four ninety-minute appearances so far this term shows just 2 goals conceded for Steve Bruce’s side, despite away clashes against Liverpool and Man United.

With Kieran Richardson shifted further forward, Bardsley seems to have been instilled as the first-choice left-back once again. His performance in the goalless draw at home to Fulham last week was encouraging from an offensive point of view, too, with plenty of goalscoring opportunities produced for team mates.

Wigan roll up to the Stadium of Light on something of a downer after last week’s controversial home draw with Blackburn and the Latics will hardly take heart in their away performances to date. Roberto Martinez’s side have netted just twice in six away games this season and Bardsley, priced at 4.8 in FPL and owned by just 2.1% of Fantasy managers, could prove a decent differential ahead of tomorrow’s Wearside showdown.

Theo Walcott

Ultimately, it may prove a false dawn but (whisper it) there’s a suggestion that Theo Walcott has developed a consistent streak of late. Prior to gameweek ten, the Gunners winger had never scored or assisted in consecutive weeks but he’s now achieved that feat twice in a row.

A goal in the 5-3 romp at Chelsea was followed by assists against West Brom and Norwich and, as Arsene Wenger’s side start to shift through the gears and climb up the table, Walcott is beginning to produce the goods with something akin to regularity.

Given his “previous”, there’s every chance he could crash and burn at home to Fulham tomorrow but with Robin Van Persie’s current form, any pass to the Dutchman’s feet is liable to result in an assist. With Gervinho providing plenty directness on the opposite flank, Walcott is no longer the only real source of pace up front for Arsenal and has almost doubled his haul for the season in those last three fixtures. Priced at 8.8 he’s hardly a cut-price option but with just 3.6% ownership and up against the attack-minded John Arne-Riise tomorrow evening, he may well prosper as the Gunners go looking for their sixth win in seven.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    ladies and gentleman please RMT

    this weeks display:
    Vorm (Given)
    Jones, Brown, Richards (Simpson, Enrique)
Allen, Mata, Ramsey, Van Der Vaart, Silva
    Hernandez(c), Adebayor (Long)

Banking on Manu actually putting on a show this weekend so changed up Rooney for the Mexican - as I reckon that he will play midfield again. Had been punished for captaining Rooney for the last few weeks at the cost of 30000 places!!! Also dropped Agbon for Ade as Villa fixtures look to nose drive for the next few weeks. My one excess was taking a 4 point hit on Jones, but I think the boy is worth it. Let me know what you think.

Why call Hernandez "the Mexican"? It's far quicker to type Hernandez 🙂

      That's what I think.

    Hi Guys,

    Thoughts on this line-up:

Begovic, (not sure if will play, obviously. Given to come in, if not)

    Shawcross, Jose Enrique, Jagielka.

    RVDV, Bale, Silva, Pilkington.

Ba, Aguero, Yakubu (he came in for Suarez as free transfer, and hence freed up 4 mill.)

    Thoughts…?? =o)

4pt hit Silva to Bale, Walker to Baines?

I also have Aguero, VDV and Adebayor. My logic is that Silva is extremely expensive for someone I'd never captain (I'd always opt for Aguero if I needed a City player as Captain)

    Thoughts?

Think you have a really strong team - I'm playing the same formation this week. Swansea are really strong defensively at home, I cant say the same for Arsenal, even though they will most likely win the game, so more points for Van Persie.
imo I would play Aguero for Johnson - he is a top striker and will get something at Liverpool.

Think all this Bale stuff is a kneejerk to 2 things, his 2 assists last week and VdVs doubtful status. I think VdV will play, as he's not been registered for Europa League and thus can rest mid-week and will be a more consistent points scorer (as in get more than 2 in a week) than Bale. If you really need money, swap Rooney for Hernandez

Who to bench out of N. Dyer (AVL), Enrique (MCI) or Kompany (liv)?

Tempted to bench Dyer, as I´ve got a hunch that either Liverpool or ManC will keep a clean sheet. Don´t know why.

Think I'm going to punt Moses for Larrson. Then bench Silva.

    Thats it done.

    Evans > Wilkinson.
    Moses > Drenthe.

Think that's the first hit I've taken this season....Please pay off 😛

If you're worried about doing a positive move like Moses -> Larrson for that kind of a reason you may as well just consider Moses as a season keeper in your team and never look to transfer him out.

I know. Losing money on him all the time but he's a cheap playing mid and frees up cash elsewhere. If I do this I will have:

          Drenthe Silva Nani Walters Larsson

          RVP Adebayor Suarez.

Tough to drop one out of that lot.

As long as you make whoever you drop first sub it should be OK. Nothing wrong with a strong bench, you never know when you'll need it.

If it doesn't pay off immediately, it will over 2-3 weeks for sure. Positive moves.

    Vorm (Ruddy)
    Enrique Kompany Brown (Raylor Simpson)
    VDV Bale Silva BJohnson (Fergie)
    RVP (c) Rooney Sturridge

Could get Walters in for Ferg now for 4 pt hit - worth it? Only just enough in bank...

That's why I'm considering it - Raylor or Simpson don't offer much this week off the bench, whilst Walters is v Blackburn. Hate taking any hit normally...

Sturridge a sure fire starter this GW? And if so which pair offers the best points potential for just this GW (not bothered long term) - (A) Sturridge and Sess or (B) Bendtner and Arteta?

I have RVP and Santos as Arsenal cover and no Chelski coverage.

Been a bit out of the loop with the football world this week as been poorly with an ear infection. Anyway, I logged in to have a quick look at my team and I have Mignolet injured and VDV, Best and Rooney all doubtful - so that's four players who are either definitely out or might be out.

I'm thinking now it's essential that I get RVP in.

My team at the moment is:

    Vorm, Mignolet
    Wilkinson, Ward, Kompany, Simpson, Brown
    VDV, Ramsey, Silva, Mata, Drenthe
    Best, Rooney, Adebayor

Would any of these moves be worth a 4 point hit?

    A) Mignolet and Rooney OUT, Ruddy and RVP in.

    B) Ward and Rooney OUT, Monk/N Taylor and RVP in.

    C) VDV/Mata and Rooney OUT, ???? and RVP in.

My heads running wild tonight, so any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Oh, and I have one free transfer and 0.7 in the bank.

Rooney out, RVP in. On a side note - if Bendtner gets injured who will play up front for Sunderland? Maybe it's worth getting Sess over Larsson?
