You know the drill. The Scout Selection Committee picks three players and Big Dunc’s way with words tempts you with our Friday night trio. Dunc is unavailable for selection this weekend, so I’ve stepped into the breach to deliver this week’s Differentials piece in his absence. Here’s who we have for your consideration…

Steve Morison

We’re backing the Norwich striker heavily this weekend. Drafted in to the “Ones to Watch” section of our official Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Scout article, he gets the nods here for his performances over the last few gameweeks.

The Welshman has found the net in each of his last three games, scoring against Blackburn, Aston Villa and Arsenal, and while the Canaries seem incapable of picking up a clean sheet, he’s been the one consistent source of points in Paul Lambert’s side of late.

Between gameweek 10-12, only Robin Van Persie has scored more goals than Morison, an indication of his form right now. Up next? A home clash with a QPR side that have conceded 11 goals in their last three road trips. Priced at 4.9 and with an ownership of just 1.3%, Morison looks good value to extend that scoring streak at Carrow Road tomorrow.

Phil Bardsley

Back in the Sunderland fold after a season blighted by both injury and suspension, Bardsley‘s presence in the Black Cats’ back line adds a definite solidity. A look at his four ninety-minute appearances so far this term shows just 2 goals conceded for Steve Bruce’s side, despite away clashes against Liverpool and Man United.

With Kieran Richardson shifted further forward, Bardsley seems to have been instilled as the first-choice left-back once again. His performance in the goalless draw at home to Fulham last week was encouraging from an offensive point of view, too, with plenty of goalscoring opportunities produced for team mates.

Wigan roll up to the Stadium of Light on something of a downer after last week’s controversial home draw with Blackburn and the Latics will hardly take heart in their away performances to date. Roberto Martinez’s side have netted just twice in six away games this season and Bardsley, priced at 4.8 in FPL and owned by just 2.1% of Fantasy managers, could prove a decent differential ahead of tomorrow’s Wearside showdown.

Theo Walcott

Ultimately, it may prove a false dawn but (whisper it) there’s a suggestion that Theo Walcott has developed a consistent streak of late. Prior to gameweek ten, the Gunners winger had never scored or assisted in consecutive weeks but he’s now achieved that feat twice in a row.

A goal in the 5-3 romp at Chelsea was followed by assists against West Brom and Norwich and, as Arsene Wenger’s side start to shift through the gears and climb up the table, Walcott is beginning to produce the goods with something akin to regularity.

Given his “previous”, there’s every chance he could crash and burn at home to Fulham tomorrow but with Robin Van Persie’s current form, any pass to the Dutchman’s feet is liable to result in an assist. With Gervinho providing plenty directness on the opposite flank, Walcott is no longer the only real source of pace up front for Arsenal and has almost doubled his haul for the season in those last three fixtures. Priced at 8.8 he’s hardly a cut-price option but with just 3.6% ownership and up against the attack-minded John Arne-Riise tomorrow evening, he may well prosper as the Gunners go looking for their sixth win in seven.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

No. He will play week in, week out and coming up to the Christmas period where games could be cancelled, you need someone like that on your bench who you know will play.

Actually, 'minimal' is a bit harsh. He's got a deadly long shot on him and he's getting closer to scoring to be honest

utd are shaky at the moment but good fixtures coming up.
i see fergie trying to get an established back 4 in place with vidic-ferdinand-evra as the core...get them used of playing togetehr again before the busy xmas period
so jones is a ? to me right now...i reckon he could get rested soon as he's played a lot of football and fergie usually breaks the new young lads in slowly, which he has'nt done here thus far

big spendiog defenders not doing the business this year. i just shipped kompany for wilkinson so i could get bale in
i've a budget defence now....not everyones cup of tea but i'm happy to flow with it till the jan wc and we'll see how things look then

Slim, I would imagine, unless he scores 3 today and Rooney does nowt again.

Totally with you on Woodgate. It's seriously starting to irritate me every time I see him in my team. He doesn't play when Stoke keep a clean sheet and then when he finally does play they lose 5-0.

I know it's a cardinal rule never to take a hit for a defender but I'm starting to believe Woody was cursed by the same witches who have blighted poor Victor moses this season.

There are ? over the starts of Silva, VdV and Ramsey, so you might want to get someone like Bale or Walters in.

Silva too? I think he'll start as he only played 60 mins midweek and had most of last week's game off. They'll need his creativity to get throught he LIV defence. Agree on VDV and Ramsey, but don't think it's worth a 4 point hit - disaster sceanrio being they start and outscore the sub I bring in!!

    Vorm (Given)
    Lescott McAuley Wilkinson (Gabbidon Simpson)
    Sess Silva Ramsey Sinclair (Moses)
    Rooney RVP Suarez
    bank:2.3 + 2 freebies

    A. Rooney, Moses>Sturridge,Bale
    or
    B. Rooney Ramsey>Ade,Lampard

Both transfers look good on the paper. Not sure which way to go. Any suggestions?

You have a solid team. I'd just do Lescott -> P Jones or Vermaelen and save the 2nd transfer. Wouldn't ditch Rooney or Suarez with their fixtures (despite his form). I'm looking to get Suarez in in 2 weeks! Perhaps also upgrade Moses before his price drops tonight....just a cheapie will do so you can then do Sess/Ramsey -> VDV/Bale next week.

Posted a couple of pages back got no response:

I’m thinking of getting Drenthe in for Ramsey this week. Bolton are leaking goals and I’m concerned Ramsey might get rested, plus he’s not been delivering the points anyway. Thoughts on this transfer?

Also, if I do this, I can afford Mata to Lampard though it would be a 4 point hit and it would only be for two weeks unless something happens that getting Rooney in week 15 a bad idea. Lampard to outscore Mata by more than 4 points these next 2 weeks?

IMO you are making a sidestep and wasting points. Obviously depends on the rest of your team and bench.

    Shall I do...

    a) Do Evans > Brown this week

    b) Do Rooney > Adebayor/Helgy AND Evans > Jones/ Defender of your choice

    c) Do b) but over 2 weeks to avoid a hit

    Cheers 😉

Still don't fancy Rooney as NEW is actually a tough game and he is well out of form and returning from injury.
Good point about Brown though i will do that...
I may do some mad punt replacement on Wayne however!

      Aquilani @ Liverpool
      Ibrahimovic @ Barca

Newcastle have loads of them, Owen, Luque, Boumsong, Hugo Vianna. The 4 of them were a combined 45million and I'm pretty sure they were all signed by Souness, he really destroyed us as a top 6 club

Does anyone have B Johnson and Allen? If so how do you manage them, they don't rotate? Worth keeping Tiote as there seems to be no better options unless I downgrade Jones to Smalling or Drenthe (which I really don't want to do)
