Paul Lambert talks of Norwich City rotation. David Moyes praises the performance of Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, Shaun Wright-Phillips is an early injury doubt for Neil Warnock and Brendan Rodgers awaits news on scans for both Angel Rangel and Danny Graham:

David Moyes has talked up the abilities of Diniyar Bilyaletdinov after his weekend display at Bolton. With Royston Drenthe missing out due to an ankle problem, the Russian, in a rare league appearance, impressed at the Reebok, grabbing an assist in the 2-0 win. Drenthe’s Fantasy owners will be hoping he’s fit and available for selection this weekend at home to Stoke and leaps ahead of Bilyaletdinov in the pecking order once again.

Brendan Rodgers is sweating on the fitness of Danny Graham after the striker limped out of Sunday’s clash with Aston Villa due to an ankle problem. The Swans boss has similar concerns over right-back Angel Rangel but admitted he is less optimistic over the Spaniard’s chances, with scans on both players likely to reveal more in the next day. Leroy Lita is an obvious replacement for Graham, though Swansea’s options at the back are stretched, meaning Jazz Richards could be handed a top-flight debut.

Paul Lambert has spoken of his intentions to utilise more members of the Norwich squad, after making three changes to his starting lineup for the win over QPR. The Canaries boss has been fielding a settled first XI of late but admits he’ll ring the changes, if necessary, in order to keep his players fully fit:

You need the whole squad. We wanted to freshen up. I felt those lads with that freshness would allow them to hit the ground running and then maybe when it hit the hour mark you might have to think how much have they got left in their body.

Stephen Kelly is expected to be fit for Fulham’s Europa League clash with FC Twente, after making good progress from a groin problem picked up on international duty. Victory over the Dutch side would ensure qualification for the Cottagers and Kelly’s return would boost Martin Jol’s options in the right-back area; with Zdenek Grygera a long-term absentee, Chris Baird has been Jol’s viable alternative of late. In other injury news, Orlando Sa scored on his return to reserve action last night, while Steve Sidwell remains sidelined after a hernia operation.

Alex McLeish has admitted the performances of Jermaine Jenas and Barry Bannan have given him “food for thought” ahead Villa’s home clash with Man United. Despite the weekend game at Swansea finishing goalless, Big Eck feels the midfield duo gave his side an added attacking impetus and both could come into consideration for a starting role on Saturday.

Roberto Mancini has also hit out at the scheduling of tonight’s Carling Cup match against Arsenal- the tie comes just over forty-eight hours after Man City’s match at Liverpool. With this weekend’s league game against Norwich preceding a critical Champions League showdown with Bayern Munich, Mancini has admitted he will “change all the team“ for the showdown- good news for Fantasy managers ahead of the Canaries game on Saturday.

Kenny Dalglish joined Mancini in his criticism. Liverpool are in a similar situation, having to travel to Chelsea only two days after Sunday’s game against City and Dalglish admits there may be “one or two missing“ for his side. With no European competition to consider, though, and given that their next game is not until Monday at Fulham, the Reds boss may field a stronger team than perhaps anticipated, with plenty recovery time ahead of the Craven Cottage clash.

Shaun Wright-Phillips is an injury concern for QPR ahead of this weekend’s clash with West Brom. The player suffered a foot injury against Norwich and left the ground on crutches but Neil Warnock is not ruling him out at this moment:

Shaun is undergoing extensive treatment this week. Fortunately there’s no break, and we haven’t written him off just yet for Saturday’s game against West Brom.

              I think that was probably just Wenger lowering the expectations of Arenal fans who have got tickets for the Carling Cup tie - i.e. RVP, Ramsey and others will be rested then, so they'll be fresh for the weekend. Of course, I could be wrong but we'll soon know.

    So if Dzeko plays in the CC, s'pose he may not play v Norwich. So is it worth using my FT to bring in Ba this week, not an easy one v Chelsea, but that doesn't seem relevant when it comes to Mr Ba. There's a question in there somewhere 😛

      Tough one. Dzeko more than likely won't start but even if he came off the bench he could do some damage. Ba is up against Chelsea who've improved defensively the last few of weeks, I think I'd wait till next week and save the transfer.

    Opinions please of wise ones. 2x FTs this week are spoken for, but I'm holding off pulling the trigger until midweek games/injuries can be more accurately assess. But my question is, should I use the £1m that will be left in the kitty post-FTs to upgrade Rambo for 4pt hit?

    My thoughts include; Yoyo, Larsson, Giggs, Fletch, Ramires?

    What says the wisdom of the crowd?

      Not Giggs or Fletcher, and I'm not sure any of the others are worth a 4 point hit - Yaya, although I'd pay the extra for Silva, or Larsson maybe.

        Have Silva, obviously '66. But Yoyo's been scoring really well lately and he doesn't get dropped in the league it seems. Fletch/Giggs were both outsiders, but Larsson is worth thinking over too, although I don't like SUN's form at all.

        Thanks kiddo.

    Kompany, Taylor R, Jose Enrique, Jones, Turner
    Silva, Drenthe, Van der Vaart, Dyer, Bale

            If your def is good enough for a CS, then so is your keeper.

      Sub Derenthe to Allen...He was very impressive in the last 2 matches...Will get returns for sure. Drenthe if well might play for less than 30 mins...Bilyaletdinov is sure to start.

      You confident Aguero plays then IT? I was considering bringing him in myself, but I'm not sure. I'd be sticking with Vorm over Foster given they're both away, and you're paying the price, I suppose, for not great rotation in the back line. That latter point is the thing I'd be looking to address.

      Hope that helps.

        We'll know the liklihood after tonight's game. I don't know for sure but I do think Aguero will start this weekend.

        If he does start I think he will be the top player to have this weekend and a bit of a differential.

    Thinking of a chancey 8 point hit to make up for not getting Baines two weeks ago when I originally wanted him. I've also lost patience with that dipshit Bendtner.

    Warnock OUT Baines IN
    VDV OUT Ben Arfa IN
    Bendtner OUT Adebayor IN

    That would leave ziltch in the bank and a squad of

    Krul, Vorm
    S.Taylor, Baines, Vermaelen, Wilkinson, Brown
    Silva, HBA, Drenthe, Walters, Dyer
    Rooney, RVP, Adebayor

    Going to give Rooney another couple of weeks, if he looks to be in a rut I'll downgrade him to Hernandez and use the cash to bolster the midfield.

    Any comments?

        It is chancy, and a bit reactionary too as I so nearly picked Baines before his double pointer, but I think Adebayor could mitigate VDV and Baines could do very well. Stoke have been quite poor lately (apart from last GW) so hoping that he can at least keep a clean sheet. Cant see Warnock doing much with his upcoming fixtures

    Vorm (Ruddy)
    J Evans Baines Enrique (Simpson, Brown)
    VDV Silva Mata Ramsey (Dyer)
    RVP Ade Helguson

    1.6 in bank.

    A little help please. My subs for next week (all going well) will be Ramsey to Ben-Arfa and Helgs to Ba, both for free.

    The question is - Should I get rid of J Evans this week, meaning a four point hit to bring those two in next or just stick with him for a bit?

      I'd wait and do it for free, Hearts. You'll be playing Baines and Enrique most GWs ahead, and obviously Brown Simpson rotate great for third Def. Can't see value in paying points for juggle 'Slo-mo' Evans.

        Cheers was thinking the same. Also I know that whatever week I take him out, Evans will start in a 1-0 Man U win and get 6 points + bonus.

        It`s like I would advise anybody who had Evans to bin him but can`t quite seem to manage to do it myself.

    Two things…

    1. Bench Agbon or Dempsey?
    2. Field one of Simpson, Ward or Brown

    Fratboy I still can't seem to decide on the 8-pt hit on Studge > Ade & ShawX > . It just seems so wrong.

    Did a survey for points on page 1.
    Averages:
    Ade = 8 + Baines = 6 > 14
    Studge = 4 + Brown = 2 > 6

    Barely nullifies it.

      It's up to you! I don't want to push you into anything, but I'm happy with my decision and rarely can I say that after an 8 point hit. Although I did get rid of Bannan, so that gave me a big smile.

      All I care about is winning my money leagues... overall rank doesn't really bother me. Though I did notice in my history I've never finished top 1k, so that would be a nice bonus.

    Anyone playing any Newcastle defenders this weekend? I have Staylor on the bench and starting Jones/Wilkinson/Turner.

    I'm not optimistic about wilks or turner so wondering if staylor in for either of these is a good shout?

      He definitely plays for me anyway. The guy's a beast I can't get him outta my team, dropped him last week for the first time and he still came on for Jones.

    How are these transfers-
    Rooney-> Hernandez
    Evans-> Caulker
    ShawX->Baines
    4 point hit would leave me with-
    Vorm Krul
    Saylor Caulker Baines Woodgate Ward
    Drenthe Sess Dyer VDV Silva
    RVP Ade Hernandez
    Thoughts?

    Got one FT this week not sure how to go with it

    Hennessey (Krul)
    Simpson Jose Enrique Jones (Wilkinson De Laet)
    Silva Nani VdV Rodwell (Moses)
    Sturridge RVP Adebayor

    Nani is really frustrating me and Bale is very tempting but I think being a United fan I don't want to leave myself without cover in case they do turn it around!

    Any comments?

      Nani to Bale this week.

    a possibly crucial thing for aguero and silva. man city play saturday and wednesday v bayern, as opposed to sunday - wednesday, or saturday - tuesday.
    it may seem minor but mancini himself has mentioned in his press conferences the importance of that extra day between games

      similar to mine so i'd give it 8.5/10

      although i might consider Drenthe (if he's fit) over Brunt.

      away to QPR is less attractive than home to STO who will just be back from a midweek game in Europe.
