A good haul of Fantasy points might put a smile on your face but doesn’t always put pounds in your pocket. That certainly rang true last weekend when it came to the β€œFlutter”. Bossing the left-flanks, both Leighton Baines and Garath Bale were Scout Picks that paid dividends for Fantasy managers, but failed to deliver on our chosen Flutter markets.

A brand new set of fixtures will hopefully spark a return to betting form. Spicing up the wagers this week are spot-kick specialist Yakubu, in-form poacher Emmanual Adebayor, free-kick aficionado Ryan Taylor and human battering ram Micah Richards. Read on to find out how we spend our Β£10 stake in this week’s Fantasy Flutter.

Tottenham are swaggering right now, there’s even a whisper of ‘title contenders’ in the air. And why not? Loanee Emmanual Adebayor has taken over the goalscoring baton while Rafael Van der Vaart nursed his hamstring, netting 4 goals in two games, leaving Spurs just a couple of neat and tidy performances away from challenging the topspot. Although Bolton will try their best to repel the vibrant Spurs attack, Adebayor to score 2 or more goals at 13/5, looks good for the first Β£2.50 of our money.

Last week’s flutter selection neglected the prospect of defensive returns, so this time around a clean sheet market is tempting us. Roberto Mancini will be looking to come away from the Norwich clash with a shutout, and if Micah Richards and co can keep out the likes of Anthony Pilkington and Steve Morison out, and steer clear of the ref’s notebook, Paddy will pay out at 11/10. This might seem a touch too short for some, but a Β£5 stake shows confidence City this weekend.

Newcastle’s Ryan Taylor has netted a couple of long-range efforts this season, and will be looking to lend his right-foot to the Magpies attack when Chelsea pay a visit. Taylor to score outside of the box has been priced at 8/1 by Paddy, and is a risk worth taking for a Β£1 of our money.

Blackburn haven’t featured much in the Flutter, as their worst start to a Premier League season plods on. While picking up points has been a problem, goals haven’t been proving too much of an issue of late, however, and Yakubu looks a potential bargain over a forthcoming run of favourable fixtures. Netting twice against Wigan, he is fancied to make a mark against Swansea at Ewood this weekend, with Paddy posting 5/2 for him to score and Blackburn to go on to win. We’ll take them up on that for another quid.

Our final wager is a cheeky 50 pence on a long-shot anytime double. Watchlist Wanderer Jamie O’Hara and Blackburn’s Morten Gamst Pederson were both in our thinking when it came to the Scout Picks this weekend; Paddy are offering both to net at 18/1. That may be too far fetched for most to open their wallets for, but we’re going to back our hunch with the last of our stake money.

Curse of the Old Boy!

Paddy’s money back special this weekend takes us to Villa Park and surrounds the fortunes of former home favourite, Ashley Young. If the United man comes back to haunt his former club by scoring a goal at anytime, Paddy will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.

I'm thinking of doing that next week although I'm finding it hard to part with Rooney.

I should just get rid for Adebayor, but now I'm reasoning that I can keep Rooney and get rid of Drenthe for O'Hara or Ben Arfa and take out Bendtner for Adebayor.

Then I look at Newcastle fixtures and think I really need Ba for that lot.

Unless it means you can't afford him next week then no, you'd need him to score and Bendtner not to to make it worth it and no guarantee he'll outscore him anyway.

Cant find my post form a few mins ago so I still have a dilemma on 2 subs guys - this is for -8pts but v tempted to replace the following. What would you do?

    Crouch/Moses OUT for Yakubu/MG-Pedersen IN

    or

Crouch/Petrov (BOL) OUT for Hunt/Jarvis and Ba/Sturridge/Bendter IN

what say you for best combo for this and coming gameweeks?

          No.

Ba and Sturridge excepted the other transfers are for cack players playing for cack teams.

And STurridge sounds like he's going to be deployed out wide again now, which lessens his fantasy appeal.

So, only BA really is worth bringing in out of that lot. Even on a WC I wouldn't recommend the other moves.

    RMT

    Vorm (Westwood)

    Jones BAE Raylor (Brown, Woodgate)

    Allen, Sinclair, VdV, Silva (Tiote)

    Aguero RvP (C) Hernandez

Have 2 FTs but only wish to use 1 and have 0 in bank

Is it worth playing Vorm away from home this week? Or do I go Westwood, or do I use my spare free to get Cerny?

Or do I replace Woodgate, and if so who with, only options I can see are McAuley,Gabs, Senderos or Kelly, and any transfer would be a 2 week deal when whoever is in goes out for Jags (can’t afford to do that now)

or do I replace Sincs with O’Hara, Brunt or Barton?

Osmosis is the movement of solvent molecules through a selectively permeable membrane into a region of higher solute concentration, aiming to equalize the solute concentrations on the two sides. It may also be used to describe a physical process in which any solvent moves, without input of energy, across a semipermeable membrane (permeable to the solvent, but not the solute) separating two solutions of different concentrations. Although osmosis does not require input of energy, it does use kinetic energy and can be made to do work ...

The first law of thermodynamics is an expression of the principle of conservation of work.

The law states that energy can be transformed, i.e. changed from one form to another, but cannot be created nor destroyed. It is usually formulated by stating that the change in the internal energy of a system is equal to the amount of heat supplied to the system, minus the amount of work performed by the system on its surroundings.

Any views on whether to play Vorm or Krul this week?
And given the answer to that, which 2 to play from Enrique, Jones, Naylor, Simpson?

I'm thinking Vorm + Enrique and Jones, but not sure. What do people think?

Just aware that all my players will play on Saturday unless I play Brown and/or buy Jagielka or Enrique. It'd be a nervous Sunday and Monday to see my team continually drop in rank.

    Vorm
    Simpson - Richards - Naylor
    VDV - Mata - Silva - Bale
    Ade - Ba - RVP
    Sub: Krul, Dyer, Brown, Evans

    Opinions please.
    1. Should I start Brown? Who to drop .. less attacking threat, Naylor?
    2. Is it worth to use FT for Evans > Enrique or Evans > Jagielka?

Need some help. I have 2FT and £1.7m in bank yet I feel the best thing to do this week is nothing. I was going to get Drenthe in for Ramsey but with Drenthe doubtful it looks a bad idea. Next week I plan to get Rooney and Ben Arfa in for Bendy and Mata. Anyway, team is:

    Vorm
    Jones, Enrique, Walker
    Silva, VDV, Mata, Ramsey
    RVP (c), Ade, Bendy

    Krul, Dyer, Saylor, Naylor

    Do I:

    a) do nothing and lose a free transfer
    b) Ramsey to Drenthe
    c) Ramsey to someone else (MGP, O Hara, Osman??)
    d) Mata & Bendy to Ben Arfa & Rooney (i.e. my planned GW15 transfers a week early)
    e) do d) but have a one week punt on Aguero and get Rooney next week
    f) something else involving the sale of 1 or 2 of Ramsey, Mata and Bendy

I get what you're saying but wouldn't have any plans for the money. My team next week is likely to be:

            Vorm, Krul
            Jones, Enrique, Walker, Saylor, Naylor
Silva, VDV, Ramsey, Ben Arfa, Dyer
            RVP, Rooney, Ade

.4 in bank. Would be 2.5 if I sold Jones for a 4m. Wouldn't want to change attack and don't think there are any 8-9m options in midfield that are worth upgrading from Ramsey so plan to keep Jones unless I or anyone else has any ideas for the cash.

Your attack is the same as mine. I think where we differ is in midfield - I like to have three heavies in there.

As you have three budgeritoes in midfield, I'd be tempted to get Baines in who is playing as a midfielder anyway but you get all the bonuses of an OOP.

Thanks for your input. It's an option that I'll consider.

Two weeks ago my knee jerk was to do Baines and Bale for Nani/Brown. It has cost me 36 points 😑

                  Good luck πŸ˜›

These things happen. I got on the Bendy bus 2 weeks ago after having Sturridge for 3 weeks and 4 points. I thought that was bad but losing 8 points doesn't compare to yours.

Mostly good players but it's hard to rely on points from defenders.
