A run of three home games in the next four for Blackburn Rovers elevates Paul Robinson in this week’s Watchlist rankings. Steve Kean’s side have been anything but reliable at the back this term but with Scott Dann returning at Stoke last Saturday and skipper Chris Samba approaching fitness, an increased solidity at the back seems likely.
A look at the season ticker shows there is further reason behind our reckoning. With Swansea’s Michel Vorm- the top-owned Fantasy goalkeeper- facing three away games in the following four, Robinson’s home fixtures dovetail perfectly with the Dutch stopper’s and may well appeal to those looking to bench Vorm in light of the Swans’ poor form on the road.
Indeed, Robinson comes face to face with Swansea at Ewood Park this weekend and Brendan Rodgers’ side, with just 3 goals on their travels, affords Blackburn a strong chance of their first clean sheet this term. A trip to manager-less Sunderland, followed by a home clash with West Brom offers plenty promise, with both opponents struggling for goals so far this season.
Robinson then hosts Bolton in a Lancashire derby and while Owen Coyle’s side have scored in all but one away fixture so far, their form has been far from healthy. Priced at 4.7 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Robinson is a budget-friendly option whose shot-stopping ability will no doubt help rack up the “save” points over the next few weeks as Rovers look to scramble clear of the relegation zone.
