Craven Cottage is the venue, as Fulham versus Liverpool wraps up Gameweek 14 on a bitterly cold Monday night. Braving the unpleasant conditions outside, the Dugout Discussion is open once more. Martin Jol and Kenny Dalglish have handed their team sheets in, and this is how the sides line-up tonight…

Fulham XI: Schwarzer, Kelly, Senderos, Hangeland, JA Riise, Murphy, Etuhu, Dempsey, Ruiz, Zamora, Dembele.
Liverpool XI: Reina, Johnson, Enrique, Skrtel, Agger, Henderson, Adam, Spearing, Bellamy, Carroll, Suarez.

The hosts make one change to the side that drew at the Emirates, as Steven Kelly comes in for Chris Baird at right-back.

As for the visitors, the devastating injury to their star defensive-midfielder Lucas, means that Jay Spearing comes in as his replacement. Elsewhere, Andy Carroll partners Luis Suarez up-front, and surprisingly there’s no reward in the form of a starting berth for Maxi Rodriguez, who’s enjoying somewhat of a purple patch at the moment.

    I agree totally. I was thinking of agree to ba this GW until all the injuries occured. However, if we expect them to conceed, they will have to play more attacking once they get behind and we know BA is capable. Give them 1 week to see how they play without Taylor and Col

Funny old game this.... Went to bed last night sitting on two freebies and £800k in the bank anxiously hoping Phil Jones wouldn't rise as I wanted to do VDV and Saylor to Adam and Jones after tonight's game and leave enough money for a decent upgrade for Pilkington next GW.

Woke up this morning and found Jones went up so brought in Samba for Saylor instead. Watched the game tonight and am going to bed now thinking about Schwarzer replacing Begovic and then spending 4 pts to bring in Nani for VDV if he gets through tomorrows ECL match unscathed and in good form.

God I love this game! But why do I bother planning anything?

  Yes. Even if you take the view that Defoe will get some starts if VDV is fit, Stoke away is the sort of game where VDV's guile will be invaluable.

Do I get Schwarzer or Howard to replace Westy. Howard obv has DGW but I have Bale and VdV, Schwarzer has tougher fixtures but he has form and plenty of saves

Will anyone be looking at Vellios for the DGW? I know that he is more of an impact sub, and he's only scored when he's come off with the last 25mins to play. However, it will be a DGW, he looks bright and at the moment he's only 4.4.

Would take up a precious Forward place though....

      Bloody right - and it could have been worse. Sturridge could easily have walked off with a hat-trick - best I've seen him play for a while to be honest.
      
      My main rival in my mini-league had Ade so I couldn't face another week without him. Didn't expect Newcastle to look so sloppy at the back - injuries may now change the whole complexion on that hitherto defensive stronghold.

(I have spent hours mulling over this swap and he's got it in 10 seconds)
Me: "OK, what does that leave you with?"
Him: "6,9... I could get Ba"
Me: "That'd be good."
Him: "Wait, I want Suarez..." and then he goes off on some weird transfer travel that does not include Nani, Ba or Suarez.

I desperately want to tell him he had it right the first time but am also desperately trying to let him make his own choices.

For some reason I thought about taking silva out a second ago, just looking at Man citys fixtures I reckon he will be spared for the big games and might not do much in them. Do I just need to go to bed?

  Silva was one of the main reasons I played my WC a few weeks back...now I want to play it again. Silva is relatively consistent but he was not at his best on Saturday. I need another 10+ points haul from him soon....
  
  May look at pushing some more cash into defence - Jones & Vermaelen with Richards/Enrique/Simpson
  
  with RVP, Ade and the Yak up front.
  
  Also deliberating over Nani for this week..

    I was looking at nani myself aswell as Baines. I can downgrade VDV/Silva to Bale and get Jones in giving me a weekly back 4 of Vermaelen, Baines, Jones, Enrique.

  Bale's points: 56
  
  Silva is consistent, but sometimes you need to gamble on someone who you think is going to score big. Bale may crash and burn, but when he does I'll swap for someone else who is on form.
