Craven Cottage is the venue, as Fulham versus Liverpool wraps up Gameweek 14 on a bitterly cold Monday night. Braving the unpleasant conditions outside, the Dugout Discussion is open once more. Martin Jol and Kenny Dalglish have handed their team sheets in, and this is how the sides line-up tonight…

Fulham XI: Schwarzer, Kelly, Senderos, Hangeland, JA Riise, Murphy, Etuhu, Dempsey, Ruiz, Zamora, Dembele.

Liverpool XI: Reina, Johnson, Enrique, Skrtel, Agger, Henderson, Adam, Spearing, Bellamy, Carroll, Suarez.

The hosts make one change to the side that drew at the Emirates, as Steven Kelly comes in for Chris Baird at right-back.

As for the visitors, the devastating injury to their star defensive-midfielder Lucas, means that Jay Spearing comes in as his replacement. Elsewhere, Andy Carroll partners Luis Suarez up-front, and surprisingly there’s no reward in the form of a starting berth for Maxi Rodriguez, who’s enjoying somewhat of a purple patch at the moment.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom can be found by clicking here, so come in and follow all the action as it unfolds.

Who to take in for Hernandez for the next few weeks? I have 10.3 to spend.

Ignoring other coverage, who is the best option with that money to spend?

      has to be BA.
with spare cash look to upgrade midfield. adams (liv) and young(manu) (the forgotten men) are good buys at 8.8 and 9.8. young is set to take more central attack roll at manu and has good run of games. with scout him tonight in champions.

    Anyone care to predict how many of these games Silva will be rested for over the Christmas period;
18th December: Arsenal (H) - surely gonna start against Arsenal, yes?
21st December: Stoke (H) - this is the game I see him being rested for.
26th December: WBA (A) - will have an 8 day rest, has started every away game.
1st January: Sun (A) - again, very important in away games for them it seems, but has Liverpool (H) 2 days later..
So in all, I think he will start 4/5 and be taken off early at Sunderland.
Anyone else have predictions or agree with me etc?
I don't want to carry 2 big hitting rotation risks over Christmas (VDV possibly being the other)

Yeah I think your predictions won't be far wrong.

That's why I'm half-considering Yaya at the moment who is likely to play the lot. Keeps accumulating the points too.

But, say Silva does start 4/5 games.
His points per start = 7.08 which would give you 28 points over the 5 games
Yaya's is 4.42, giving you 22 over the 5 games.
Obviously this is just based on averages, but you get the point 🙂

Yeah, but you've got an extra £2.5-3m in the bank so it depends where you're using that.

If that's the difference between Jagielka and Vidic, I'd expect to make up the short fall.

Has he done it before? I know he played alot early one.
After that he has a 10 or so day break, but maybe Stoke + Sunderland games rested..
Tough decision as I got him in at 9.5 and can't find a decent replacement..

I'm liking the attacking nature of the whole team with this set up as already have Jones, Vermaelen and Enrique in defence. 150 points to make up in money league feel this could well be the combo that pulls me back in the race.

Anybody else looking at just bringing in players who are completely rotation proof for December? Players like Smalling, Jones and everybody who plays for City may offer some value but with snow to inevitably come it may be worth just investing in certain starters.

Morning all, another terrible game week for me dropped again! Wasted WC of weeks ago and spent a lot of transfers since correcting it! Team is

    Vorm Hennesey

    Baines Jones Brown Simpson McCauley

    Silva Walters VDV ALLEN DRENTHE

    RVP Ade HOILETT

    Major Problems in caps

Should I just stick to my original plan for this gameweek and get Ba in for Hoilett (annoyed as invested in the wrong Blackburn attacker) or take a hit to get the mid and def sorted out?

Never bought into the whole Drenthe thing, flakey and so is the managers team news...

Don't know how much bunce you've got? VDV/Drenthe/Hoillet for Bale/Yaya/Sturridge? Anelka on his way, pleny of starts and a top six striker who scores goals can't be ignored at the price IMO.

vermaelen is an excitin player to have though.. point ceilin much higher than evra.. evra will return max 6-7 a gw(though often i agree).. whereas verm has the 10+ followed by 2 potential.. along with immense price rise potential.. may seem small but vermaelen will give huge scores inbetween which will result in rise in price.. evra's 6's wont get much attention.. could help when settin up the winter wildcard team

HI guys im in a stump what to do with my team it is as follows, i've had a bad couple of weeks so any help woul be appreciated I have 2 frees and 1.3 in the bank -

    Howard Ruddy
    Wilkinson McAuley Simpson BAE Baines
    Moses Dyer Brunt VDV Silva
    Bendtner Aguero RVP

I have a few ideas in my mind namely

    A) Aguero - Rooney
    B) Aguero & Wilkinson- Vidic & Ba
    C) Aguero & BAE & VDV - Bale Evra & Rooney

All of these look decent but im not sure I want to lose Aguero that much. Any fresh ideas?

    RMT for gw15

    Vorm
    Enrique Jones Naylor
    VDV Bale Silva Walters
    RVP Sturridge Ade
    (bench: Krul, Baines, Dyer, Simpson)

    Thinking of doing:
    VDV > Nani
Baines > Vidic/Verm (bring back Baines for gw20)

Worth doing for a 4 point hit?

Perhaps, but VDV is becoming too much of a liability (and an expensive one at that). The prospect of Nani being moved in to a forward role with their run of games seems too good to ignore (had it not been for Chico's injury I would have chosen Mata ahead of Nani though).

I'm not just talking about this season, he was in and out with injuries last season too, It's been some weeks now since VDV put in a good shift and 10m is too much to have a player sitting on the bench or putting in 15 mins for 1 pt. If he hits form again then I buy him back....simples

I'm aware of that Jack, but the difference is I've had Silva in from the start (when he cost 9.5). At 10.5 he's gotta be a season keeper for me now.

Lennon's played just 6 games.. you can rotate yaya/Ramires in the tough games and play them in home games and expect points.. the way m.city and chelsea dominate small teams means both ramires and yaya should get points in those fixutres... i'd rather rotate one of em with walters/larsson than play walters/larsson every week and expect points.. to each his own i guess..

Come to think of it, I have a pretty bad team for this GW.

    Studge/Helg won't score.
VDV is always a doubt and it's Stoke after all, Harry might just bench him.
Sinclair, penos hogger - that is all.
No CS for any of my defenders, except maybe Enrique.
Bale, Vorm & RVP - every team has.
    Given - injured.

    Vorm
    JE Brown Simpson
    VDV Silva Bale Sinclair
    RVP Studge Helguson
Subs – Given Moses ShawX Wilko
1 FT 5.0 Bank WC available

    Still...transfer suggestions anyone?
Considering Ba/Ade & United attacking/defensive coverage as my priorities.

Vorm will get a clean sheet
      So will Enrique.
VDV could easily play, and against Stoke a penalty is always around the corner, Silva is fixture proof and didn't Bale score 2 last time around against Stoke? Sturridge could easily score, MCI aren't that great defensively.
Think we are in for a low-scoring GW nonetheless.
Why not Helguson > Ba and then possibly Sturridge > Adebayor later on for the DGW?
